The Recreation Facility Association of Nova Scotia
(RFANS), is pleased to offer a Certified Pool Operators® Course to pool operators throughout Atlantic
Canada. The CPO® Course of the National Swimming Pool Foundation has been designed specifically for pool operators. The CPO® course provides
pool managers and operators with the practical
and technical information they require. And supports the new provincial guidelines for safe pool
maintenance.
The CPO® Course is being held at the Dartmouth
Sportsplex in Dartmouth, NS. Registration will be held
from 8:30am until 8:55am on Monday, May 4th for
classroom instruction. The course will begin promptly
at 9:00am and finish Wednesday afternoon, May 6th.

The CPO® Course covers all aspects of swimming
pool operations:








Water chemistry & chemical balancing
Water testing
Pool circulation
Filters and filtration
Pool operation problems
Care of seasonal pools
Participants will receive their course documents including a math study manual two weeks before the course
for mandatory course preparation.
Please bring a calculator to the course.
Course Fees
The registration fee for participants who are members
of RFANS/RNB/RPEI is $479.95. The cost for nonmembers is $539.95. Taxes are extra. The registration fee covers course materials, breaks and exam
fee. Lunch is not included

Two ways you can choose to learn, class room or
online instruction.
Classroom instruction: 2.5 days plus exam
Course participants learn through classroom discussion, lectures, AV presentations. Real life examples will be used to explain key points of the
program.
Online: Half day in class plus exam
Students will receive an access code and work
through modules online. Upon successful completion, a certificate will issued which you must print
off and must be presented to the instructor with a
photo ID on May 6th in order to write the exam.
Without the completion certificate, no exam.
Lunch options: The Celtic Corner Café is onsite at the
Sportsplex plus several restaurants are within a few
minutes and in easy walking distance.
