Pentecost
May 24, 2015
A SIGNIFICANT DAY
March 29, 2015
“And suddenly there came from the sky a noise
like a strong driving wind, and it filled the en re
house in which they were” (Acts 2:2). The Holy
Spirit’s arrival on that first Pentecost was signaled by
a rush of wind. We all know what it’s like when our
windows are open just as a summer storm rises up.
Curtains fly, papers become airborne, house plants
shudder, dust is sca ered. A rush of wind disrupts
the orderliness of our home. The coming of the Holy
Spirit, as celebrated each year at Pentecost, can also
disrupt ways that have become comfortable and orderly. The Church always needs Pentecost. We need
the breath of God’s Spirit to blow away any complacency or malaise that has se led into our faith. Jesus
breathes on his disciples and they receive the Holy
Spirit. With that recep on comes the power to share
the Good News of salva on. Today, this is no less
true for us.

Dear Reverend George Mockel,
I would like to thank you for the wonderful help that was
provided to our families. My gra tude comes both from
those who assisted the needy, as well as the needy themselves. We are grateful for all your kindness, though ulness and generosity that year a er year your parish has
given to us.
Blessings to all.
Fraternally,
Sincerely,
Reverend Jesus Hernandez

Pastoral Care Ministry
We Christians are called to heal
Service to the sick is a particular aspect of our Ministry, which Jesus Himself required to all of us who bear His name.
Healing and care for the sick physically, psychologically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually-must be a priority in our
community.
Sickness and pain have always been an enigma to humankind and difficult to understand because we believe in an all
loving, all powerful God.
Sickness can not be seen as punishment in which we suffer for our personal or ancestral sins. The disciples asked Jesus
about the cause of man’s blindness:
“Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, for him to have been born blind?”
Jesus replied: “ Neither he or his parents sinned . He was born blind so that the works of God might be displayed in
him.” (Jn.9:2-3)
Members of Pastoral Care Team are available to bring Holy Communion to Parishioners who are ill or
recovering after surgery at home and can't come to church. To schedule a home visit, please contact Sr. Mary Anh
Cong at ext.254-2426, x 309 or email: [email protected].
