Presenter Biographies
Chelsea
Chelsea Williams earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University
Williams
of Tennessee. She has over 20 years of combined work experience in the areas
of advocacy, foster care, adoption, education, family court services, mental
health, intake coordination, and administration. Chelsea is in love with her
husband Daniel of 13 years, and has two beautiful children, Nygle and Kennedy.
Chelsea enjoys her relationship with God, spending quality time with her family,
traveling, antiquing and cooking~ especially desserts! Chelsea is a homemaker,
who also works part-time as a companion-caregiver for a home health agency in
Orange County.
Evelyn Wilson
Evelyn Wilson works as a Senior National Training Consultant for Father
Flanagan’s Boys Home (aka Boys Town). During her tenure of thirty plus years at
Boys Town Evelyn has held several positions including being a live-in group home
Family-Teacher (house parent), an administrative consultant for other FamilyTeacher couples, and as the coordinator for Boys Town of Southern California’s
foster care program and emergency shelter. In her current position, she has had
the privilege of providing training and consultation services to external programs.
Evelyn has had the opportunity to provide these services both nationally and
internationally for programs that serve children with emotional, behavioral,
learning and hearing challenges. Her experiences have greatly influenced her
ability to train and consult to staff and administrators in a variety of settings
including public and non-public schools and school districts as well as social
services programs that provide long and short-term residential care – group
homes, foster care, emergency shelters, and treatment programs. Evelyn has a
Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Human
Development degree. Evelyn serves in various programs at her church and
working with high school girls as a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black
Women.
Jamie Pierce
Jamie Pierce is currently the Program Director of Family Support Services at
Boys Town. Jamie holds a Master’s Degree in Human Services and is a
Licensed Clinician. During her time with Boys Town Jamie has excelled in her
roles as an In-Home Family Consultant where she worked with families to try
and prevent removal from the parent’s home and also with reunifying families.
Jamie became a Supervisor and later the Manager of In-Home Family Services.
Jamie currently oversees prevention and early intervention programs including
parenting education, peer mentoring, and family matching. Before coming to
Boys Town Jamie served 10 months in various communities with the
AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps which included providing
projects in the following areas: disaster services, economic opportunity,
education, environmental stewardship, and healthy futures. Jamie’s passion is to
help families and communities thrive through collaborative efforts that build
upon the unique strengths that each family and community holds.
Kamarr Richee
Kamarr A. W.-Richée is acting Director of the Health Awareness Program, the
community health outreach arm of CMS Inc. Having attended Prairie View A
&M, the prestigious HBCU, for his undergraduate, he went on to study medicine
on both coasts and in two countries, developing a holistic understanding of how
God’s creation known as man can be properly cared for during his time on earth.
He has most recently been working towards earning a Master’s in Public Health,
which he will be awarded in May 2015 from the distinguished New York
Medical College. Dr. Richée will continue in a career of serving individuals and
their communities with his knowledge and skill set, all in earthly service to the
heavenly calling of Christ.
Kimberly Wright Kimberly Wright is a Human Resources Executive with 30 years of Human
Resources Generalist experience. She has worked in the service, manufacturing,
and healthcare industries in both union and non-union environments. Her
employment history includes Allstate Insurance Company, Kimberly Clark
Corporation, San Antonio Community Hospital and Anaheim Memorial Medical
Center. She currently is the Director, Human Resources at Eisner Pediatric &
Family Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. She has a Bachelor's Degree in
Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and is pursuing a
Masters in Health Administration from University of Phoenix. Mrs. Wright has
been a member of Second Baptist Church since 1985. Her favorite scripture is
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Lisa Eubanks
Lisa Eubanks has been a resident of Orange County for most of her life. She
graduated from Santa Ana Valley High School and continued on to CSU
Fullerton to obtain a B.A. in Business Administration. Lisa has a broad
background in retail sales and management, insurance sales, and customer
service. She has a passion for children and has worked part time as a substitute
teacher for SAUSD for nearly 20 years. Currently Lisa is working for the
County of Orange in Child Support Services. She is also busy here at SBC
working in Christian Education, The Deacon Family Ministry, and Property and
Space. She also sings in Voices and attends Sunday School and weekly bible
study.

Robert Manuel
Orvin Roberson, along with his wife Barbara, has been a member of Second
Baptist Church (SBC) for 15 year. He is currently servicing in the Deacons
Ministry, is director of the Leadership Development Program, and is director of
the Stewardship Ministry. He is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University
with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also has a Master’s degree in
Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration. The
Leadership Development Program Ministry focuses on training current and
future leaders in leadership principles including principles of servant leadership.
The Stewardship Ministry focuses on helping members/people learn to manage
their finances using godly principles. One topic is Debt Management with a
focus on determining current debt level and identifying strategies for getting out
of debt. The Ministry uses the book “Managing our Finances God’s Way”.
Dr. Randall Drew maintains 25+ years, as an administrator, manager, and
professor. He is currently a tenured Professor of American
Government/Political Science at Orange Coast College. Prior to becoming a
community college educator, he was employed as a sworn Deputy Probation
Officer II, and Group Counselor, at the Imperial County Probation
Department. I completed my *Doctor of Education (Ed. D.)* in July 2002 at
Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA. I am a product of the CA community
college system. I have been employed in several areas of higher education, from
1992 to the present, in numerous capacities over the years. I served as the Dean,
of Student Services at Coastline Community College from May 1995 to July
2004. I have also served in other capacities as a former Assistant Dean of
Students, as a Counselor and Administrative Dean of Instruction at Golden
West College from Oct. 1992-May 1995. I maintain many years of experience
as a Conference Presenter at the state level for both the Community College
system and CA State Chancellor's Office in Sacramento, CA. I have also
prepared many seminars and lectures on Cultural Competency Training, Cultural
Diversity, and Mentoring. My Doctoral Dissertation is entitled: "*Assessing the
Perceptions of Non-Traditional Students and Counselors Toward Developing a
Mentoring Program for Non-Traditional Students at Coastline Community
College*." Additionally, I attended the Harvard University Institute for
Management and Leadership in Education (MLE) Seminar, from June 9-21,
2001, in Cambridge/Boston Massachusetts.
Robert Manuel is an experienced professional engineer who holds a degree in
Business Administration and a certification in Methods Engineering, Time Study
and MTM. He has served the City of Santa Ana and Orange County for many years
with community service. He has enhanced the image of Orange County. Robert has
been an educator and storyteller for cultural awareness for many years in Orange
County. Robert was one of the founders of the Unity Saturday Academy at the
University of California Irvine campus. He is a member of the Omega Psi Phi
fraternity, new Buffalo Soldiers, Tuskegee Airmen, NAACP, Orange County
Storyteller’s Guild, and founder of HistArt H. Renaissance Institute and
Ashe/Braden/Gibson/Gonzalez Tennis Society. Robert teaches free tennis to youth,
adults and seniors in Santa Ana placing emphasis on safety, socialism, health and
wellness. He is currently the varsity women’s tennis coach at Santa Ana College.
Robert has been instrumental in assisting many young people to obtain scholarships at
NCAA Division 1 colleges. One student is now in medical school in Atlanta, GA where
as she aspires to become a pediatrics doctor. Robert works with the Santa Ana schools,
colleges and universities in events and celebrations with cultural awareness programs.
He hails from Dayton, Ohio. He was a former Aerospace Engineer and Manager
working on projects such as the B-1 Bomber, MX Missile, NASA, C-17 and MD11. He
received a B.A. degree from Capital University in Columbus, OH
Methods Engineering Certification from Maynard Institute in Columbus, OH
Master’s Degree in Comparative Theology from American College in Golden Valley,
MN and holds a PH.D. in Egyptology at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA. He is currently a
Founder and CEO of HistArt H. Renaissance Institute, A Non-Profit 501( c ) 3
Corporation and Ashe/Braden/Gibson/Gonzalez Tennis Society.
Shenel Hughes
Shenel Hughes is a recent graduate from the #1 HBCU in the nation, Spelman
College, in Atlanta, GA where she received her Bachelor’s degree with
Academic Honors in Political Science. She is a professional educator who has a
passion for serving youth and empowering young women to fulfill their
purposes. Her journey in education began in Houston, TX where she taught
middle school English Language-Learners and Special Education scholars with
one of the largest non-profit organizations in the world, Teach For America.
After fulfilling her commitment, she returned home to California where she
served high school youth in Compton with Mayor Aja Brown’s Youth
Leadership Experience Program. She is attending Pepperdine University to
obtain her Master’s Degree in Business Administration with the intent of making
a larger impact on the next generation in the field of education.
Sherri Dukes
Sherri Dukes has been a member of Second Baptist Church since February
2013. Sherri loves the Lord and is happy that the Lord led her to Second Baptist
Church. She is a mother and grandmother. She has worked in the non-profit
sector for 14 years, where she has raised awareness of the issues facing our
community along with millions of dollars to address those same issues. Sherri
enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loves to read, her
favorite author is James Patterson.
Timothy Shorts
& Darlene Long- Timothy and Darlene Shorts (Married 31 Years) met at the Carolina West Night
Club in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve in 1981. We were married 2 years later
Shorts
and have been inseparable ever since. We were married 12 years before we had
our two children Kawona 19 and Timothy (TJ) 17. On December 2nd we will be
celebrating 32 years of marriage which could only have been done through Jesus
Christ. We follow what we call the Marriage Trinity, God, Husband, and Wife.
Our Prayer is to start a Marriage Ministry at Second Baptist Church where we
can assist and encourage other married couples through God and Scripture.
Veverly
Edwards
Veverly Edwards has an Ed. Specialist Degree in Organizational Learning and
Leadership Development. She has facilitated motivational workshops on topics
such as: Overcoming Barriers to Success, C.L.A,S.S.Y. Women in Christ,
Leading Through The Storm, and Lord Make Me Hold.
