CHANGE IN DUE DATE - Now Due April 7, 2015 by 2:00 pm Local Time
NOTICE TO ALL BIDDERS
This Addendum No. One is hereby made part of the Request for Proposal for Web Development and
Content Management.
Due to time constraints brought on by Spring Break and the number of
questions received, the District has extended to due date for this RFP to 2:00
pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2015.
Question 1:
Answer 1:
Question 2:
Answer 2:
Question 3:
Answer 3:
How many District trainers does the district plan on training? Will the District require
online training or on-site training?
5 to 10 trainers, either training model will work.
Is the District looking for training options other than “train-the-trainer” (e.g. end user
training)? How many end users will need training?
We will use the train the trainer model. A rough estimate of total end users needing to be
trained is 1,800 however the number would be less than 100 under the train the trainer
approach.
Is the district planning on purging any unused content/pages prior to the migration?
Please estimate the number of District pages, the number of School pages, and the
number of Teacher pages that will need migrated. Additionally, what is the anticipated
number of files needing to be migrated?
Very difficult to determine base on the current size of the web. Would need help from
vendor to determine this.

Question 4:

Question 5:
Would the District consider a design-ready responsive template, or does it require a
made-to-order responsive design unique to Boise School District?
We would prefer to see potential costs for both options.
Answer 5:
In addition to a project manager, beyond implementation and integration, does the
District require/desire a dedicated technical support contact?
Yes, a dedicated contact would be preferable.
Question 6:
Answer 6:
Does the District have the need to edit and manage the site on a tablet?
Yes.
Question 7:
Does the Webmaster require one single logon for District-wide editing versus separate
login for each school?
Yes, one single log on for District-wide editing.
Answer 7:
Question 8:
Answer 8:
Question 9:
Answer 9:
Question 10:
Is the District looking for an automatic feed form Infinite Campus, or would a manual
import from a file such as a .csv file be sufficient?
Currently using a .csv file upload but an automatic feed is preferred.
Does the District currently have access to a downloadable mobile app for push
notifications? If not, is this a desire of the District to have a presence in the Google Play
and ITunes Store?
Currently, no. Please include pricing with and without this option.
Answer 10:
Is the District seeking an intranet that would only allow individuals with certain
permissions and rights to view the content?
Yes.
Question 11:
Answer 11:
Does the District require a system for streaming videos?
Yes.
Question 12:
Answer 12:
With regard to the Google Calendar, does the District require dual sync and integration?
That would be preferable.
Question 13:
With regards to integration with Infinite Campus, please clarify: is the District looking
for a single sign on for parents to enter the Infinite Campus SIS from the CMS or is the
District looking for a solution that displays information from Infinite Campus within the
CMS? And if so, what level of data is to be displayed?
We would like to know what options you have that are available and the pricing structure
for each. If it is possible to sync current student grades from infinite campus with the
CMS, we would like to know that cost and how it functions?

Question 14:
Answer 14:
Does the District currently have a parent portal? If so, please describe.
Currently, there is both a direct link to the Infinite Campus parent portal and a login for
parents that syncs the parent to school or class information specific to their child. The
preference would be to have single sign on location for staff, students, and parents from
one portal.
Question 15:
With the anticipated start date of May 1, 2015, please describe the procurement timeline
and process. For example, will the District need to present the proposed solution to the
Board? When does the district plan on signing a contract with the awarded vendor?
This is a valid concern. The District was a bit ambitious with its timeline. An award
recommendation for this project will be presented to the Board of Trustees at their
meeting the evening of May 11, 2015. The District would want to finalize a contract in
the immediate days following that Board meeting.

Question 17:
Answer 17:
Question 18:
Answer 18:
Can you direct me to an ACTS or assembly bill(s) that specifically addresses the student
data security and privacy for the State of Idaho. The most recent document I found online
was this: http://legislature.idaho.gov/idstat/Title33/T33CH1SECT33-133.htm.
Let me know if there is anything else we need to address as it pertains to student data
security and privacy.
There is not anything else you need to address as it pertains to student data security and
privacy beyond the information at the link you have identified.
Regarding the plan to use SAML with Active Directory for Google Apps of Education
integration. Is this a full fledged SAML Identity Provider that will work with other
SAML Service Providers? Are there any other educational applications other than
Google and Infinite Campus that you’d like to integrate with as it pertains to single sign
on capability? Examples: Track It, Illuminate Ed and True North Logic.
Boise School District is currently evaluating options for using Active Directory to
authenticate usernames and passwords to systems such as Infinite Campus, Google Apps
for Education and a Content Management System/Website. Tools such as SAML and
Google Active Directory Sync are being considered, however a full fledged SAML
Identity Provider has not been determined. We would be interested in any
recommendations that you may have for this type of integration. We do not need to
integrate our system with Track It, Illuminate Ed nor True North.
With regards to the selection criteria, is there a defined weighted value associated with
the selection criteria?
The District has not yet determined if it will assign weighted values to the selection
criteria.
