Sub: Education - Scholarship section - Seeding the Aadhar Number with
the Bank Account Number of the beneficiary under the National
Scheme of lncentive to Girls for Secondary Education - Reg.
Ref: D.O. Letter No. 8-1/2015-SS dated 20.02.2015 of Ministry of Human
Resources Development, New Delhi.
Kind attention is invited to the copy of the D.O letter enclosed herewith, where in,
the M.H.R.D., New Delhi has stated that the Government of India has decided that the
Direct Benefit Transfer to the individual beneficiaries under the "National Scheme of
Incentive to Girls for Secondary Education" will take place only on DBT platform from the
next financial year onwards. lt can be achieved only if the bank accounts of the targeted
beneficiaries are linked to their Aadhar Numbers.

Therefore, all the Principal
/ Headmasters /
Headmistress of the schools are
directed to ensure that the eligible students of their schools enrolled under the scheme
and have seeded their Bank Account numbers, with Aadhaar number which
is
mandatory.

Further, it may be ensured that the eligible students of the schools who have not
seeded their Bank Account with Aadhaar number are complying by April 2015 to get the
financial benefit.

Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) and National Scheme of Incentive to Girls for Secondary
Education (NSIGSE) administered by the Deparfinent of School Education & Literacy
with 100% funds from the Central Government. Both these schemes are covered under
Direct Benefit Transfer scheme launched by the Govemment of India on 01.01.2013 and
the scholarship/incentive amount to students covered under these schemes are being
transferred into the( bank accounts throulh the Public'Financial Management Systeri
(PFMS) platforni. Wherever Aadhaar numbers of the students are avarlaile, payment

It has been decided by the Government of India that Direct Benefit Transfer to
individual beneficiaries under these schemes takes place only on DBT platform from the

3.- I request you, therefore, to kindly issue insffuctions for ensuring that the procesl
of (i) enrolment and issue of Aadhaar numbers to all eligible srudents una (ii) the ieeding
of the bank accounts of the beneficiaries with their Aadhaar numbers is completed withii
the next three months, so they can benefit from DBT transfers, under these two schemes.
