Chair Letter
Welcome to the
30th Annual Shamrock
Celebration,
WOW, 30 years! It was really easy coming up with a
theme for this year’s event. Considering this event
has been around for 30 years, why NOT the 80’s?
Before the fun starts, we just wanted to take this
opportunity to thank all of the people who helped
make this evening a success.
Thank you to our committee chairs and volunteers
who have given of their time and talent.
Thank you to Kelly Fyfe and Mary Hauke who have
provided much-needed support.
Thank you to Father Dan who has provided new
ideas and inspiration.
Thank you to the faculty and staff of Lumen Christi
who have been great examples for our children.
Thank you to our teen volunteers who demonstrate
the values we promote in our school.
Thank you to our advertisers and donors whose
support help make this event possible.
Thank you to ALL OF YOU who have chosen to
attend Shamrock 2014 and support Lumen Christi

Shamrock
The Shamrock has long been a symbol used by
the Irish to explain the mystery of the Trinity.
We, at Lumen Christi Catholic School, also use it
as a sign of the unity of our school community.
Inspired by Jesus’ message of love,
we walk together in heart, mind, and spirit.
Together we rejoice in the sunshine of each
other’s joys; together we share the sorrows
and burdens of darker times.
In this spirit, we reach out to those known and
unknown, realizing that our best response to
our Lord is our willingness to open our hearts to

Here is an opportunity for you to buy something
for your younger children at Shamrock!! Take
this opportunity to sign up your little ones for
an amazing, fun-filled Lock-In Party at Lumen
Christi-Thiensville on Saturday, May 10th.
The LCT teaching staff is prepared to offer an
entire evening of supervised, fun, kid-friendly
entertainment for the children of Lumen Christi
Thiensville! Join the LCT teachers for the 5pm
mass on Saturday, May 10th. You may either
drop your child off in Dominiak Hall at 4:45pm
before mass; or, if you would like to stay for
mass, immediately after. Then, after mass, the
LCT teachers will provide a full evening of dinner,
games, and activities until you pick your child up
at 10pm (or earlier, as your schedule permits) from
Dominiak Hall. While you enjoy a movie, dinner
with your spouse, or shop ‘til you drop, your child
will have tons of fun with their beloved teachers
and classmates! A hot dog dinner, including
veggies, drinks, and dessert, will also be provided.
A movie will be shown to wind down the evening
and gather the children together.

This evening of fun and frolic is available to
the first 50 children in grades K4 through third
grade (must be enrollled at Lumen Christi) at
an unbelievable price of $30 per child. That’s
equivalent to paying a babysitter only $6 per
hour – when is the last time you were able to do
THAT?!?!? Not only that, but 100% of this price
will benefit our school because this entire evening
has been generously donated by the incredibly
dedicated LCT teaching staff!

SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER!
AN LCM POOL PARTY AT THE
RIVER CLUB OF MEQUON $

OK, parents, this one is for your pre-teen. Before
everyone is off and running in one hundred
different directions this summer, give your LCM
– aged child the opportunity to celebrate the
end of another school year and the beginning of
summer vacation with their classmates! The River
Club of Mequon is happy to host a Lumen ChristiMequon afternoon Pool Party Spectacular on
Wednesday, June 11th. (Rain date is Thursday,
June 12th.)
The River Club of Mequon’s renovated pool
facilities are second to none, and your child will
have a blast enjoying the pool, lounging poolside,
dancing to jamming tunes, playing silly games
facilitated by the RCM incredible lifeguard staff,
and enjoying a scrumptious lunch of pizza, fruit,
cookies, and a variety of beverages.

Drop your fourth through eighth grade child off on
Wednesday, June 11th, at 1pm, poolside. The
children will start with lunch, then spend the next
three hours basking in the joy of summer until you
pick them up at 4pm.
This afternoon of summer fun is available to the
first 80 children entering 4th grade in Fall 2014
through 8th grade Class of 2014 at an unbelievable
price of $30 per child. Thanks to the generosity
of the River Club of Mequon, $17 of this cost will
directly benefit our school!

LADIES’ DAY OUT –
SHOPPING TRIP TO CHICAGO
Back by popular demand!! Ladies, this one is for
you: treat yourself to a day of shopping, dining,
and Windy City fun! Travel by motorized coach bus
and spend the day enjoying downtown Chicago’s
thrilling sites on Thursday, November 20th.
The bus will depart from Lumen Christi Mequon
at 8:30am. Before departure, start the day with
gourmet coffee and yummy pastries in the LCM
cafeteria. Once in Chicago, the bus will drop off
at two convenient locations: The Shops at North
Bridge and Water Tower Place. After an enjoyable
day in the city, all guests will meet at Water Tower
Place at 8pm for the return trip home. Once on
board, refreshments, including cheese and wine,
and a good-old “chick flick” movie will help
you unwind. The bus will return to Mequon at
approximately 10pm.
Take advantage of this opportunity to spend an
entire day with your girlfriends! Sign up quickly!!!
Seats are limited and this trip has become quite
popular – this opportunity is offered to the first
50 women for only $50 each. That is nearly the
cost of round-trip train fare to Chicago! What a
wonderful way to spend a day – and $30 of this
cost will directly benefit our school!

Hey Guys…have you long envied the Ladies’
Shopping Trip and wished you had an event of
your own? Well, we heard you! We tried to find the
male equivalent of shoe shopping and decided
on an evening of Mama Mia’s delicious food and a
private room to watch the semifinal games of the
Men’s NCAA Final Four basketball tournament
on Saturday, April 5th on the big screen at Mama
Mia’s Mequon.
Join your fellow Lumen Christi dads and relax
and enjoy an evening of manly men pounding
their chests, yelling at the television screen, and
watching the best in college hoops! The party will
start 30 minutes prior to tip off of the evening’s first
game and ends on the final buzzer of the second
game, although you are welcome to stay longer
and create your own post-game celebration! Salad,
Mama Mia’s famous garlic bread, lasagna, and
pizza will be served on a private all-you-can-eat
buffet. Cash bar service will also be available.
This evening of male solidarity is available to
the first 40 gentlemen at a price of $40 each.
What a great way to take in this year’s Final Four
semifinals, and $21 of this cost will directly benefit
our school!

A BICYCLE BUILT FOR…..16?
PEDAL TAVERN PARTY

What, you may ask, is a Pedal Tavern? It is a
16-person, bar shaped, bicycle-powered party
on wheels! Check out this great way to see and
experience the Brew City on a one-of-a-kind twohour Pedaling Pub Crawl Tour on Friday, August
15th at 8pm.
A Pedaling Pub Crawl Tour aboard a Pedal Tavern
will take you on an adventure through the scenic
and historic Third and Fifth Wards of Milwaukee,
all while topping speeds of 5 miles per hour! Lots
of water views, old buildings, and of course, lots
of watering holes to stay hydrated. Each Pedal
Tavern bicycle comes with a tour guide, who also
performs the driving and steering tasks while
the 16 passengers provide the pedaling power
to transport your party along the tour. The tour
guide will typically make 3-4 stops along the tour,
and can make suggestions based on your group’s
preferences. Popular stops include O’Lydia’s and
Steny’s. The Pedal Tavern can stop at over 25 bars
in the Third and Fifth Wards, all of which will have
drink specials awaiting your party’s arrival.
The Pedal Tavern is also equipped with a sound
system that features an iPhone/iPod dock, so bring
your tunes! And thanks to a new state law that
went into effect January 1, 2014, riders may also
bring a cooler of malt beverages on board. Snacks
are also allowed and encouraged on board this
traveling bar to keep you fueled as you pedal!
What is more fun than 16 people on a Pedaling
Pub Crawl Tour? The answer, of course, is 32
people!! This party includes TWO Pedal Taverns,
and is therefore available to the first 32 adults,
ages 21 and over, at an unbelievable price of
$45 per person. Round trip shuttle transportation
from a central location in Mequon is also included.

Tavern, $22 of this cost will directly benefit
our school!

PADDLE PARTY AT THE TOWN CLUB
The O’Byrnes, Robbins, and Bigonias are hosting a
paddle party and want your company! Join friends
for an evening of spirited competition at the Town
Club’s paddle courts and warming hut in Fox Point.
Enjoy beer, wine, appetizers, and dessert on
Friday, October 10th at 6:30pm.
Relax in the casual atmosphere of the paddle
courts’ warming hut as you sip a drink near the
fireplace and watch the fun game of paddle. Or
try your hand at the outdoor sport which looks
much like tennis. The difference is that this is a
racket game played on what looks much like a
small tennis court. The court is on a raised metal
platform which is heated and surrounded by
screens. If the ball gets past you, hit it off the
screen much like you’d hit the ball off the wall in
racquetball. This outdoor sport is played by teams
of two players and is a great way to get some
exercise during Wisconsin’s cooler seasons!
Whether inside or outside, you’re sure to have
a blast! Sign up quickly as this is limited to 50

AN EXPERIENCE OF OLYMPIC
PROPORTIONS - CURLING $
PARTY AT THE MILWAUKEE
CURLING CLUB

Learning to curl is the perfect way to introduce
yourself to this Olympic sport. Join friends for
an afternoon and evening of instruction, spirited
competition, and fun on the ice and in the
club house of the Milwaukee Curling Club in
Cedarburg. Participate in a two-hour “learn to
curl” session on the ice and then enjoy dinner
in the clubhouse on Saturday, November 1st.
The “learn to curl” session will begin at 3pm,
but you will want to arrive at least 10 minutes
early to sign in, prepare your equipment, and
check out the Milwaukee Curling Club’s brand
new facility. The club is cool, so be ready for
temperatures of about 40 degrees. Wear loosefitting, layered casual clothes. Sport pants are
ideal; light gloves and hats are optional. Wear
comfortable shoes – lightweight hiking or tennis
shoes will do the trick. Once your gear is ready,
you’ll head out onto the ice. You’ll get a feel for
the ice surface, which is much different than an
ice skating rink, and be shown around the “sheet
of curling ice”. Next, you’ll learn how to “deliver
a stone”, “sweep”, and learn the basics of
scoring and strategy. These are just a few of the
many aspects that make curling fun and great
exercise! After about an hour of learning the

General Auction Rules
1. Lumen Christi Catholic School SHAMROCK 2014 auction committee warrants neither the quality
nor the value of items auctioned. All items are available for prior personal inspection the evening
of the auction and are sold “as is” condition. Dollar values included in any item’s description
are estimates provided by the donor and are not warranted by the auction committee for tax
purposes.
2. AFTER the Voice Auction has concluded, you may pay the cashier or take advantage of the early
check out system and collect the items you have purchased. If you are unable to stay until the
end of the Voice Auction, please arrange for a friend to pay for and collect your items. All items
must be removed at the close of the auction, Saturday, March 15, 2014 unless otherwise stated.
3. S uccessful bidders shall pay for items at the cashier’s table at the conclusion of the Voice Auction.
Payment by personal check is appreciated to avoid the credit card service charges. If you prefer
to pay by credit card, Visa or Master Card will be accepted. Sales tax is included in the bid price
of all taxable items.
4. W
ith your paid receipt, proceed to the distribution table. All items are to be picked up here. A
SHAMROCK committee volunteer will collect your items.
5. A
ll sales are final. No exchanges or refunds from SHAMROCK 2014 or donors unless otherwise stated.
6. Gift certificate expiration dates, if applicable, are stated on certificates.
Silent Auction Rules
1.The Silent Auction will begin at 5:30PM on March 15, 2014 for all patrons. The auction bidding
will continue until 8:15PM for the Silent Auction and Super Silent Auction items and 8:30PM for
the Precious Presents.

Bidding may be placed on easy to operate touch screens or smartphones. Touch screens
(iPads) with color photos and detailed directions will be available throughout the evening and
circulated by Shamrock Geniuses.

accept payment and distribution of auction merchandise from that time until 11:30 PM. Payment for auction items may be made by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. Any bidder not
making arrangements for payment on March 15, 2014 may forfiet the right to purchase the item.
4.All items must be removed from the auction distribution area prior to 11:30 PM. Winning
bidders must arrange for transportation of items.
5.Gift Certificates are redeemable for the designated item only and are not redeemable for cash.
The winning bidder may need to contact the donor to arrange for services/goods to be fulfilled.
All gift certificates must be used by the date specified.
6.Any item that requires scheduling a date must be MUTUALLY AGREEED UPON between the
winning bidder and the donor.
7.Because of printing deadlines, items submitted after the deadline date may not be described in
the auction program.
8.Values set forth in this catalog are the donor’s estimates and are not warranted by Lumen Christi
Catholic School or Shamrock for tax purposes. Under current federal tax laws, the amount of
the contribution that is deductible(i.e. the portion that is a gift) is limited to the excess of the
amount contributed over the value of the item purchased. When the value is not clearly defined
(i.e. “Priceless”) the winning bidder should consult his/her tax consultant.
Voice Auction Rules
1.All buyers must be registered. During the live auction, raised paddles will signal your bid for
the auctioneer, and the final bidder will be recorded by the auction team. (Your bidder number
will be found on the back page of this catalog.)
2.Each successful bidder will sign an Acknowledgement Form.
3.The auctioneer reserves the right to reopen the bidding if there is a dispute.
4.If you do not have a credit card on file, you will need to pay the Cashier before proceeding to
the Distribution area to obtain your item(s).
Tax Information
In accordance with IRS regulation, $35.00 of your Shamrock 2014 ticket is tax deductible. Senior
Discounted tickets are not tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor should you have specific
questions regarding the deductibility of the ticket price.
