Synopsis
A bicycle diary of a young man
achieve his late brotherʼs dream
to bike to Lhasa. The young man
travels to China with a bike and
gears. People laugh at him
because the inexperienced
young man is doing everything
wrong, and almost fall over the
cliff in the dark, but he learns to
adapt, survives the challenge,
and finally conquers the over
5000 meters high mountain,
arriving to Lhasa and discovering
a new meaning of life.
Director's biography
Jiayi Du was born in 1977 in
Shanghai, China. When he was a
young boy, ”Empire of the Sun”
was shot just near his home, and
that inspired him to become a
filmmaker 20 years later. Du, has
no degree or education from film
school, but he has been involved
in several blockbuster films. He is
the producer of “Forever
Enthralled” and acted in ”Shower”
and ”Wheat”. “Kora” is Duʼs first
feature film as director.
Synopsis
Wang Yi
En cykeldagbok om en ung man
som uppfyller sin bortgångne
brors dröm att cykla till Lhasa.
Mannen reser till Kina med sin
cykel och förnödenheter. Han blir
utskrattad för sin oerfarenhet och
lyckas göra allt fel, är nära att
falla över en klippkant i mörkret
men lär sig av sina misstag,
överlever utmaningen och
besegrar kampen mot det över
5000 meter höga berget. Han
kommer fram till Lhasa och
upptäcker en ny mening av livet.

Jiayi Du föddes 1977 i
Shanghai, Kina. När han var en
liten pojke, filmades “Empire of
the Sun” precis i närheten av
hans hem, vilket inspirerade
honom att bli filmare 20 år
senare. Du, har ingen examen
eller utbildning från filmskola,
men har varit involverad i flera
stora filmproduktioner. Han har
producerat “Forever Enthralled”
och är skådespelare i filmerna
“Shower” och “Wheat”. “Kora”
är Duʼs regissörsdebut.
