Michigan
Adventure
September 17-21, 2016
Breakfast at our hotel. Pack your bags and
we are off to visit Tree-Mendus Fruit. Yes, you
guessed right, it is a huge 500 acre fruit farm
- peaches, cherries, apple, pears, plums and
more! We are going to climb aboard the Country
“Folkswagon” for a guided orchard tour stopping
off in the middle of the orchard for our included
picnic style lunch and then on to the Country
Store! They even have “Rent A Tree” available!
Saturday, September 17, 2016
Pack your suitcases and come on along as we
check out another area of the State of Michigan
in our Michigan Adventure Series! From cars to
trucks to fruit to animals, you will be amazed at all
of the fun things we will be doing & seeing in the
next five days!
We depart
Central
Wisconsin and
head for the
southern part
of Michigan
traveling via the
Windy City of Chicago. We will play some games,
watch a movie or two and stop for our included
lunch and dinner as we travel to Paw Paw,
MI, for our overnight stay at the Comfort Inn.
Depending on the weather we may also stop off
at Mount Baldy part of Indiana Dunes National
Lake Shore. Mount Baldy is made up of sand
and is 126 feet tall – is anyone game for climbing
Mount Baldy?
For the afternoon we are off to the Air Zoo Aero
Space & Science Center in Portage, MI. We
won’t be finding
any animals at this
zoo but we will be
finding a whole
bunch of activities
to try. Take a ride on a Century of Flight Ferris
Wheel that is indoors and is 26-feet tall or a 3D
Space Shuttle ride. It is a cross between an
amusement park and a museum so there will be
lots to do for the brave ones and for the not so
brave ones as well!
Our included dinner stop today
will be at Cornwell’s Turkeyville
USA! Can anyone guess what
the #1 item on the menu will be?
We will hear the story behind how Turkeyville
received its name and will have time to check out
this unique little village.

us! Pack up the motorcoach
and on our way we go
heading for Dearborn to visit
Greenfield Village. Entering
Greenfield Village is like
stepping in an 80-acre time
machine. We will see where
Noah Webster wrote the first
American dictionary or where
Abraham Lincoln practiced
law. How about a ride in a genuine Vintage
Model T or a train
with a 19th century
steam engine. Our
included lunch
can be ordered
off of a menu from
the 1850’s – do
you think we will
recognize any of the
food? We can also
enjoy a ride on the
Herschell-Spillman
Carousel carved in
1913 – take your pick, a horse, chicken, dog, cat
or many other unique animals all ready for riders
of all ages! With so much to see and do, we will
be spending the entire day here at Greenfield
Village. For sure there will be time to check out
their many gift shops from back in the day. Our
included dinner this evening will be back in
Paw Paw near the Comfort Inn, also allowing
some time to enjoy their indoor pool.

Rise and shine to another day of our Michigan
Adventure # 2 tour! Today our tour takes us to
the Ford Rouge Center. This morning we will see
how the modern day Ford F-150 is built as we
enjoy a fascinating factory tour! Our travel takes
us from the factory to the Henry Ford Museum
stopping off for included lunch at a local
restaurant. We will be amazed at the many kinds
of transportation that has evolved over the years.
Heroes of the Sky includes the people’ stories
and planes from the first 40 years of aviation,
Presidential Limousines includes all of the various
modes of transportation that the presidents
traveled in and the list goes on!
After a day of seeing and learning about the
history of transportation in the USA it is time to
sit back and relax at our included dinner show at
Genitti’s Hole in the Wall. I am told we may even
have some actors in our
group. Will our motorcoach
driver or maybe one of
our chaperones become
part of the show – only
time will tell! Following our
entertaining evening we
will return to our hotel for a
much needed rest.

Once again our included breakfast will be at our
hotel before departing for Central Wisconsin.
It will mainly be a travel day today with the
exception of a stop to visit the Broken Wagon
Bison Ranch in Hobart, IN. How about getting
“Up Close and Personal” with North American’s
largest native land mammal. We will take a ride
out into the fields to check out the herd, find out
who Big John is and see how many babies we
can find. A stop at their gift shop will be made
as well to see what kind of unique items they
may have to purchase. After that exciting stop
we must continue on our way stopping for our
included lunch and dinner before arriving back
in Central Wisconsin late this evening after a
wonderful five days of learning more about the
State of Michigan! You will want to keep an eye
out for Michigan Adventure Tour # 3 in the future!
