• FRENCH WIND ENERGY
Founded in 1996, the FRENCH WIND ENERGY ASSOCIATION (France Energie
Eolienne - FEE) is a network of almost 170 members involved in the French Wind
Industry. FEE supports wind power development in France. Our members built 90%
of the wind turbines in France and operate 85% of them.
FEE supports wind power development in France. It advocates a suitable legal
framework to be put in place, and voices the rights and interests of its members.
To this end, FEE represents the industry at public, national, European and regional
authorities and regulating bodies. FEE also promotes the benefits of wind energy to
the public and the media.
The information and positions on policy are made in collaboration with the
association members.
It informs its members of any interesting developments in the industry, provides the
positions of the industry in the law and regulation making process, interacts with
government members and their cabinets, members of Parliament, civil servants
and journalists, organises events for its members and the public and generally
supports wind energy development.
FEE also works to create and strengthen links between the various French and
foreign partners in the wind power industry.

• FRENCH RENEWABLE ENERGY ASSOCIATION
Created in 1993, THE SYNDICAT DES ENERGIES RENOUVEL ABLES (SER FRENCH RENEWABLE ENERGY ASSOCIATION) brings together, both directly
and indirectly, several thousand companies, designers, industrialists, installers,
and specialized professional associations representing the different renewable
energy fields: biomass, wood (France Biomasse Energie), biofuel, marine energy,
wind power, geothermal power and heat pumps, hydraulics, solar thermal, solar
photovoltaic (SOLER), and solar thermodynamic. By choosing to unite, the 400
members of the SER combine their resources to encourage the development of
all renewable energies in France. The SER’s mission is to develop the portion of
renewable energy in France’s energy production and to promote the interests of
the field’s professionals. The SER is an active participant in the creation of legal
and regulatory texts. It relies on the synergies of each of its members and acts
for the creation of strong, job and revenue-creating energy industries. The SER
wind energy commission gathers 195 member companies divided in three colleges:
« Industrials », « Developers / Operators », and « Support activities ».

PAYS DE LA LOIRE French region.
The unique advantages of Pays de la Loire make this region the key place for the
development of Marine Renewable Energy (MRE ) in France and in Europe: a long
seaboard with major port infrastructure, state of the art research and training
centres, as well as an industrial sector specialising in large-scale maritime
equipments.
The region is far ahead of other regions in France thanks to its political drive and the
exemplary effort of key players in the sector and local authorities. €180 million will
be invested by 2020 in order to create the conditions needed for development within
the sector, from design to operation.
Geographical resources, industry, Research and Development and a qualified
workforce, Pays de la Loire is definitely the ideal French region for MRE projects in
all kind of energy: offshore wind, wave, marine current, ocean thermal and marine
biomass.
The “Agence Régionale – Pays de la Loire Territoire d’Innovation” is the economic

• ELECTRICITY-POWER TRANSFORMERS
• PROTECTION AND FIRE PREVENTION
SERGI is specialised in prevention of explosions of oil filled power transformers.
The technology TRANSFORMER PROTECTOR (TP) has been designed to protect
transformer tank, On Load Tap Changers and Oil Cable Boxes.
TRANSFORMER PROTECTOR is a passive mechanical system that can be adapted
to any oil filled transformer above 1MVA to protect against explosion. It is now
recommended by the NFPA standards 850 & 851.
When a short circuit occurs in the transformer, the TP is activated within
milliseconds by the first dynamic pressure peak generated by the electrical arc,
avoiding transformer explosion by preventing static pressure from increasing.
TRANSFORMER PROTECTOR eliminates the risk of fire on transformer and
surrounding equipment, allows transformer repair after internal fault, provides
environmental protection by eliminating oil spillage and oil fires, is field proven and
needs only simple installation.

WEST NORMANDY MARINE ENERGY (WNME) is the key contact entity for investors,
businesses, government and other public bodies, for the European Commission
and all stakeholders in the region for everything that relates to MRE, in the field of
industry, research and innovation, outsourcing, training and planning in connection
with Ports of Normandy Authority (PNA joint association in charge of the ports of
Caen-Ouistreham and Cherbourg).
WNME’s main mission is to coordinate and link companies involved in the various
MRE projects. Its role is to set up and to energize an industrial network at the
European level, as well as managing inter-regional cooperation and external
relations.
Furthermore, WMNE also assumes the role of attracting companies, facilitating
and encouraging businesses and industrial groups to settle in West-Normandy.
The West-Normandy region has fantastic assets for the development of tidal and
offshore wind energy.
A 470 km coastline, strong and steady winds as well as the presence of powerful
marine streams such as the raz-Blanchard and the raz-Barfleur: Normandy is
naturally predisposed to deploy MRE.
In addition to these natural assets comes a wide range of infrastructures: two
ports, in Caen-Ouistreham and Cherbourg.
The combination of these natural and structural advantages positions the West
Normandy region as a recognized center of excellence for:
•
•
Tidal: the first national tidal potential (and 50% of Europe’s tidal potential)
Offshore Wind: Courseulles-sur-Mer Wind Park creation with 75 turbines
(450MW)
