Good Samaritan Ministries is
so thankful to the over 40
churches, businesses and
community organizations who
sponsored food drives to help
us fill our holiday food boxes.
And, it’s not too late! The majority the donated food we received through October and
November has been used for
our Thanksgiving boxes, so
we are still in need! Please

We have over 1,100 families
and elderly apply for holiday
assistance this year, and we
are trying to fill all the needs!
Please consider adding a few

church or workplace to participate in a food drive if they
haven’t already!

Prison Ministry: Reaching out to families of the incarcerated
Good Samaritan Ministries will serve approximately 1,000
children of men and women who are incarcerated. We are in
desperate need of items to help these children have a wonderful holiday!
Your sponsored child receives all the gifts you provide for
them. It helps then understand that someone out there cares for
them and is praying for them. Please consider adopting a child or teen in need.

Assistance Spotlight:
Families in Need
It is so hard to see families in need and not to be able to “fix” the situations. That is why God is
with me and teaches me to trust in Him for He is the answer. I would like to share with you
some of our families to pray for:
First, I visited with a young woman that has cancer. She has a daughter that is in her
senior year. The young woman has worked hard all of her life and this pain and suffering is so
much for her to carry. Her husband passed away several years ago with cancer also. Can you
imagine what this young lady is going through. Her daughter is a good student and has worked
hard. She needs funds to have her senior needs met and funds for college. Mom needs prayer
for healing and financial assistance. The medical bills have taken all of the funds and she can
no longer work. God would have us to care for the widow and her child. She cannot make it
without out help and we need for God’s people to reach out to be God’s hand extended. I have
Kim Cordell from Senator Corker’s office working to get her insurance in order. This young
mother has always been a hard worker and faithful to give to the work of the Lord. She has
cared for the hurting. She needs us…she needs you now.
The same week I met another sweet person with cancer and another young lady. He has
been the father and mother all of her life, and now she is facing her father’s illness. He is very
ill and has a rare form of cancer. He is in need of assistance with Ensure, men to visit, and
Prayer. My wish is to help him also to give his daughter Christmas gifts from Dad. She is in
college and loves her father so very much. He is her hero!!
Please join me in prayer and support to these families. God answers prayers and they need
people to stand in the gap for them right now until they are strong again.
Jeremiah 29: 11 & 12, we read: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans
to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”
Thank you for caring for those in need. We now have a prayer request box in the lobby. The
people are filling it up everyday. Please pray for their needs. God is the provider and we are
grateful to be open and here to serve them. Please pray for our financial needs. We know that
God sends the increase and we are to wait on Him, trusting Him, and He will be faithful to
meet our needs. Thank you for hearing his call and answering with “yes”, I will be your hand to
the poor, the sick, and the hurting.
