Give your mom (living or deceased) a spiritual bouquet ...
Mother's Day is fast approaching. What better way
to show your mom how much she is loved and
appreciated than by offering a 9 day novena for her.
Starting May 10th until May 19th we will be having
a novena in honor of Mother's Day.
If you would like to add your mom, aunt, sister, or
any special woman to our list please pick up a card
at the Parish Office or the 1st week of May outside
the Church.
Suggested donation:
$20 for 10 Masses

Recognizing signs of child abuse
and neglect
A key to reporting child abuse and neglect is being
able to recognize common indicators. In children, the
following signs may signal the presence of child
abuse or neglect: Shows sudden changes in behavior
or school performance. Has not received help for
physical or medical problems brought to the parents’
attention.
Is always watchful, as though preparing for something bad to happen. Is overly compliant, passive, or
withdrawn. Comes to school or other activities early,
stays late, and does not want to go home.

TODAY’S READINGS
First Reading — All who believed were devoted to the
teachings of the apostles, the communal life, the breaking
of the bread, and prayer (Acts 2:42-47).
Psalm — Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love
is everlasting (Psalm 118).
Second Reading — God has given us an undiminished
inheritance, safeguarded for us in heaven (1 Peter 1:3-9).
Gospel — The risen Christ comes to his
disciples with peace and the Spirit. The
absent Thomas doubts (John 20:19-31).

vamos a tener un novena en honor del Día de la Madre.

Una de las herramientas para poder
reportar el abuso y negligencia de menores es
saber reconocer las señales comunes. En los niños, las siguientes muestras pueden señalar la
presencia de abuso o negligencia: cambios repentinos en su comportamiento o en el rendimiento escolar; no recibir ayuda en los problemas físicos o médicos a los cuales le han informado a los padres; se mantienen vigilante como
si algo malo fuera a suceder; son demasiado conformistas, pasivos o retraídos; llegan temprano a

no quiere irse a casa.
