Page 4 Winter Wonderland It is snowing IN Waterford Senior Living. On January 3rd 9 volunteers came and helped hang 315 snowflakes. It is so pretty. Thanks to Mike, Joe, Pat, Linda, Leah, Kristy, Joanne, Caitlyn and Holly for coming that night to help surprise the residents. We had a good time and were done in 2 hours. The fun will continue with snow related activities the rest of the month. We will play a snowball toss game and build snowmen. We will also do some “snow” crafts. We will be making snow window clings and we already made snowman pins. Everyone thinks it is pretty but feels cooler in the dining room. Season for Giving This year through the generosity of residents, family and staff we collected $300 to give to LOVE, Inc. This was enough to feed 10 families a Christmas Dinner. Bill from LOVE came on December 17th and picked up the money collected. He was very excited to receive this as this year the need was greater than ever. LOVE helped over 650 families in our area this year with Christmas needs. Thanks again to all. Birthday Lunch January’s Birthday Cake Kristy’s Korner We received a card from one of our outside home health agencies yesterday. It said “Peace, Love & Compassion…. It’s the greatest resolution of all.” Waterford Senior Living Waterford Senior Living ~ 301 S. Sixth St. ~ Waterford, WI 53185 ~ 262-534-4800 Directors Message FINALLY! Repairs have begun. As you probably have already noticed, the construction crew has arrived and began to rip out all of the areas in the front entry area that were damaged by the sprinkler malfunction on December 17th. The repairs began on January 10th and are scheduled to be completed by January 21st. During this time the front entry way will not be accessible and everyone will have to use the entrance directly north of the main entrance. There is signage to help direct you to the right door. Also, the resident’s mailboxes will be out of service. So we have worked with the Waterford Post Office to make sure that resident’s still get their mail daily. The mail will still be delivered at the same time but then will be delivered right to each resident’s apartment door. Thank you for your patience and excuse the mess! New Year’s Eve Party The residents with January birthdays were honored on the11th. They are: Evelyn R., Bob P., and Eric T. Barb from the kitchen made this gorgeous cake. The residents were also given a gift certificate to the salon for a wash, cut and set for the ladies and a haircut for the men. A gift from WSL and Carrie the beautician. Happy Birthday! What an awesome message! This really made me stop and think. Between getting things wrapped up after the holidays, trying to stay organized during our reconstruction, and attempting to keep everyone healthy, this was such a good reminder. I know I speak for all of us at Waterford Senior Living when I promise this will be our focus in 2011...to continue to offer Peace, Love and Compassion to all of you; our residents, your families and each other. We had so much fun at our New Year’s Eve Party. We started celebrating at 11pm and dropped the Waterford Crystal Ball at midnight. When we shot off our poppers, blew our noise makers and had a “champagne” toast . As we waited for the ball to drop we had the 2nd Annual New Years Horserace. Thanks Anita and her High School friends for coming and putting on a great party. Volume 5, Issue 1 January 2011 Birthdays for January • 1/17 Bob P • 1/18 Eric T. • 1/27 Evelyn R.
