Well, the 39th annual Wisconsin
Chapter Grand Banquet is in the books
and what a great event it was! The new
venue The Grand Geneva Resort was a
great host and we had very large and
active crowds both Friday and Saturday
evenings. We raised a lot of money for
our chapter to put to work supporting all
of your hunting rights and conservation
needs. We hope to make improvements
on this year and offer you an even more
enjoyable show next year!
I want to mention the award winners
at the banquet. Dave Bahl, Jr was
awarded the Member of the Year Award
for 2106. His hard work and dedication
to the chapter is second to none. Matt
& Skye Wuteska were awarded the

plan on attending the meeting as
you must be present to cast your

The nominating committee,
Matt Yunk, Justine Klug, Harry Mattox,
Eric Corbeg, Mike Wettstein
President’s Award for outstanding service
to the chapter. They have worked for
many years as volunteers at the banquet
collecting payments and processing
auctions and raffles.
The banquet committee put in
hundreds of hours before the event to
make it a success. I want to thank all
of you who worked so hard to make
this event the success it was. As I state
above, this event does not happen
without the hard work of many but I
must mention a few who give so much
of their time to get us up and running.
Matt Yunk’s leadership throughout was
outstanding, Sharon Yunk and Janean
Gehl are the glue that got us through
the event, Dave Bahl, Jr coordinating
the hunts and Steve Van Lieshout as the
exhibit chair who handled the exhibit
hall all work tremendous hours on the
event. Thank you all. As president of
the chapter you are only as good as the
team around you and I can tell you we
have a great team right now. Not just
the people mentioned above but the
rest of the board does an outstanding
job in working together to make this a
success as well as many new none board
volunteers.
I want to thank the businesses who
sponsored our event this year, your
financial support goes a long way to
helping us make the event successful.
In that vein I must also thank Julie
Gottshchalk who did an outstanding
job helping get the sponsors working
with Eric Corbeg to get the sponsorship
program off the ground.
It was great having the recognition
of National again at our event
with President and Past President
in attendance. Craig and Donna
Boddington were wonderful to meet and
talk with.
Last, but certainly not least, thank you
to the attendees. None of the time and
effort mean anything if you do not come
to our event and spend money. This
was one of our chapter’s most successful
events and it comes down to you and
your friends who came and I hope
enjoyed yourselves. As I have mentioned
in the past we have one of the best
chapters in the world, this doesn’t
happen by accident.
Now that the banquet is over we can
all turn to spring and hopefully enjoy
some personal time like shed hunting,
turkey season, fishing or just enjoying
the outdoors. I hope everyone gets out
to enjoy it!
Good luck in the field if you are
turkey hunting this spring!
Join, like your way of life
depends on it.
