DESCRIPTION
The GT Cup Championship offers a
fresh approach to GT racing, featuring
an exciting double sprint race format
and single 50 minute endurance
pit-stop race. It is open exclusively to
sportsman and sportswomen drivers.
Since its launch in 2007, the GT Cup
Championship has gone from strength
to strength and has become famous for
its large grids and close racing.
Every round of the GT Cup Championship
will be televised on specialist motor
sport channel Motors TV.
SPECIFICATION
There are four classes which are defined
by original manufacturer stated
specifications comprising of;
GTO - Open specification cars (subject to
meeting balance of performance),GT3
and modified challenge cars
GTC - Late model year Challenge
and Cup specification cars, with
performance balancing where required
GTB - Early year Challenge and Cup cars
with minimum specification changes
together with modified saloon base
vehicles
GTA - Lower powered Cup, Challenge
and One make series cars

The JCW class is the ultimate in MINI
racing with up to a 2 litre engine, with
big 235/17 slick tyres, 3 way adjustable
dampers, bespoke sequential gearbox
and motorsport ECU to ensure ultimate

BLANCPAIN GT SPORTS CLUB
TECH TALK
DESCRIPTION
The Blancpain GT Sports Club is an
amateur-only championship for
Bronze-graded drivers. It will visit
five venues across Europe in 2016 as
an official support category of the
Blancpain GT Series.
SPECIFICATION
Blancpain GT Sports Club is the only
series to balance the performance of
GTE, GT3 and single-make ‘Trophy’
cars, allowing all to compete fairly in
the same class. This is no mean feat
given that GT3 and Trophy machines
are typically closer to their original
production versions than the GTE-spec
models.
REGULATIONS
A single 40-minute free practice session
is followed by another 20-minute
qualifying session on Saturday, which
sets the grid for Sunday morning’s
Qualifying Race. Each driver’s finishing
position at the end of this 25-minute
dash decides where they start that
afternoon’s 40-minute non-pitstop
Main Race, for which considerably
more points are available. These count
towards an Overall Championship
contested by all drivers, while those over
the age of 60 also compete in the Iron
Cup category.
