CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 0805.
MINUTES APPROVAL:
The minutes of April 15, 2013 were approved with one
abstention.
TRACKING TABLE
May Tracking Table has been updated. (See ATTACHMENT
A).
CURRICULUM REVISION
TIMEFRAME…ONGOING:
Curriculum Committee will respond to needs identified by
Cabinet. Thus, this topic will not be listed on next year’s goals.
Discussion of various suggestions included matching NCLEX
plan to course or using concept from concept based learning.
ASSIGNMENT: C. Buttrick and J. Swanson will meet with C.
Boerst to discuss.
CAP FOR ALLOCATION
OF COURSE CREDITS AND
GRADES FOR COURSES
COMPRISED OF BOTH
CLASSROOM AND LAB
CAP form presented. NUR 209 Theory (3 credits) will be split
from NUR 209 Lab (1 credit). These will be taken
concurrently. Student has to complete both satisfactorily to
pass and to advance.
ASSIGNMENT: Health Assessment in the 15 Month Program
needs to be evaluated for credit allocation. J.
Swanson will place CAP on FOW agenda
and send to C. Boerst.
FACULTY GUIDELINES
AND STUDENT
EXPECTATIONS FOR
ONLINE COURSE:
S. Pettus and H. Monroe presented Student Expectations for
Online/Hybrid Courses Resource Sheet. After reviewing, the
Committee agreed to change the title to “Expectations of
Students for Hybrid Course”. (See ATTACHMENT B)
ASSIGNMENT: This will be an ongoing goal for 2013-2014.

The 2013-2014 Goals were updated and approved by the
Committee. (See ATTACHMENT C).
ASSIGNMENT: All incomplete goals will be carried over for
upcoming year.

REVISION OF STUDENT
REPRESENTATIVE
POLICY
The BSN Curriculum Committee Policy has been revised to
include the BSN student representatives as regular members.
(See ATTACHMENT E). Changes have also been made to
the “Guidelines for the Class Representatives to the BSN
Curriculum Committee” to include:
 BSN class reps will be selected in Spring
 BSN 15 Month reps will be selected no later than the end of
the 2nd session.
ASSIGNMENT: These changes will be presented at the FOW
meeting in September.
HESI UPDATE:
Deferred to be presented at the Faculty Forum on May 20,
2013.
OTHER:
M. Rolloff will be the new CAP Rep. K. Zellner will attend
meetings through December 2013 to provide a historical
perspective.
