What is Sida?
• Government agency commissioned to
reduce poverty in the world, implementing
Sweden's Policy for Global Development
• The goal is to improve living conditions for
people living in poverty and oppression
• Swedish development cooperation is 1 % of
GNI – everyone contributes

Government and Sida
• The Government’s ordinances regulate
how Sida should carry out its mandate
• Sida submits an annual report to the
Government, the basis for following up and
evaluating Sida’s work
