16-pad USB/MIDI Percussion Controller
Drums and percussion are the backbone of any rhythm
section. Unfortunately, most drum kits and percussion
equipment are difficult to transport due to the shape
and size of the instruments. Fortuantely, Alesis has
a solution for traveling and studio percussionists
that easily fits under their arm. The Control Pad
is a compact solution designed for triggering sample
percussion sounds from an external module, both on
the live stage or in the studio. The eight rubber pads are
velocity-sensitive and provide excellent stick response.
Two trigger inputs facilitate the connection of expansion
pads for more percussive options. You can run the Control Pad without the included power supply if you’re
connected to a computer via USB bus power. The Control Pad is class-compliant so no drivers are needed to start
laying down the funk! You can use the Control Pad to trigger sounds from samplers, drum machines, and even
synthesizers. For mallet percussion instrument sounds you can assign the desired MIDI numbers to the controller’s
pads. The Control Pad has footswitch inputs for open and closed hi-hats and kick drums. Your only limitation with
the Control Pad is the sound source it’s connected to.
The Alesis DM5 Electronic Drum Kit puts
