VAM ® SFC is an integral casing joint machined on plain-end non-upset pipe.
The design combines a near-flush OD with high tensile efficiencies and excellent structural integrity.
VAM ® SFC should be used when maximum clearance and optimum joint strength for production and
intermediate casing, drilling liners and tie-backs are required.

High tension and compression strength
• Thread design incorporates optimized critical sections that
develop tension efficiencies of 70% to 80% of the pipe body
yield strength.
• Thread form and 90° middle torque shoulder contribute to
achieving a high compression strength equal to 70% of the
joint strength.
Great structural integrity
• The compound tapered cylindrical thread form design utilizes
four planes to optimize stresses throughout the connection.
• The negative 10° hooked thread profile securely locks the
connection and prevents jump-out under high tension even
in the most severe cases of excessive thread compound.
100% Pipe Body burst and collapse
• A unique combination of internal and external metal-to-metal
seals ensures that VAM® SFC maintains pressure ratings greater
than or equal to the pipe body ratings.

Performance Envelope
CYS = from 67.2% to 79.1% PBYS
User friendly
• VAM® SFC was specially developed to withstand excessive thread
compound (over-doping).
• The connection stabs deep, eliminating the risk of cross threading.
• Proper make-up is easy and controlled by the 90° torque shoulder
which positions the metal to metal seals in the correct location.
• The break-out torque is equivalent to the make-up torque.
Test data
• VAM® SFC performances have been
validated through physical testing
and Finite Element Analysis.
Joint Yield Strengths are calculated from the minimum specified material yield strength, and the critical joint cross sectional area, pin or box, as appropriate.
Make Up Torque range is between +/- 10% of the optimum torque.
