Colors & Accent Colors
 Avoid wearing stark white or black because
it may reflect or glare into the camera or
cause shadows.
 Do not wear colored or patterned

Make-up
 Apply your own make-up slightly heavier
than usual before your television interview.
 Pay particular attention to check and lip
coloring.
 If the television producer suggests you go
to “makeup” when you arrive, do go.

General Appearance
 Usually, conservative dress is a safe bet for
your TV interview.
 Wear your glasses on TV only if you need
them to see.
 Avoid elaborate hairdos or jewelry
(including earrings), as it might distract the
viewer.

 Sit with your tail bone to the back of the
chair.
 Avoid wearing a hat.
 Legs may be crossed at the knee or the
ankle, but in either case they should be
turned slightly away from the cameras.
