R E PORT
Welcome from the Chairman & Executive Director
Dear Friends,
In 2014 we went ice-skating on the Courthouse lawn and we strolled through
Tiffin in horse-drawn carriages. We listened to jazz musicians beneath the
shade trees on Frost Parkway and we helped our neighbors build a new
playground at Washington School. We hiked existing park trails and
we committed grant funds to the construction of new trails that will
connect Downtown Tiffin to Hedges-Boyer Park. We provided
scholarship funds to send our area grads off to further their
educations. We built houses and we provided utility assistance
for those in need. We did all of these things and more thanks
to the amazing generosity of you and your neighbors! It
is your support that is making it possible for The Tiffin
Charitable Foundation to have genuine impact in
Tiffin and Seneca County.
With sincere gratitude,
Eric Shook,
Chairman, Board of Trustees
Jodie Reinbolt,
Executive Director

The Paul J. and Florence S. Arbogast Tuition Assistance Fund
The Paul J. and Florence S. Arbogast Memorial Scholarship is a
tribute to Paul, Florence and the generations of their ancestors
who were a part of Seneca County. This fund is meant to
provide emergency tuition funds to families of Calvert Catholic
Schools so that every area family has the opportunity to
provide their children with a Catholic education.
The Seneca County Park District Fund
The Seneca County Park District Fund is
an endowment established in 2014, for the
maintenance and enhancement of the property
and programs owned and operated by the
Seneca County Park District. In the parks are 21
miles of foot trails, of which 6.7 miles double as
equestrian trails. All parks are open to the public
at no charge. Our parks are used by the 57,000
residents of Seneca
County as well as
others from
surrounding
counties.
A Hui Hou Phil Stevens
Phil Stevens and his wife Jo Ann started the Phillip A. and Jo Ann H. Stevens Family Fund in
2006 to benefit the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library. On March 6, 2014, Mr. Stevens passed away
peacefully at his home in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. We will miss his big, booming voice when he

The Cynthia & Mark Levans Type
One Juvenile Diabetes Fund of The
Tiffin Charitable Foundation was
formed in memory of Cyndy to help
individuals struggling with Type One
Juvenile Diabetes. This letter was
received from a beneficiary of this
fund.
Dear Mark,
I have a seven year old son who was
diagnosed with Type One Diabetes
when he was two. This past month
I was unable to afford his insulin. I
contacted Pat DeMonte (of United
Way) for help and she informed me
of the fund you and your wife set up.
I can’t thank you enough! My son
has insulin for the next three months
thanks to you. I’m so grateful and
I promise to pay it forward in the
future!
Thanks!

Scholarships
The Tiffin
Charitable
Foundation awarded
more than $80,000 in
scholarships for the 20132014 school year to Tiffin
and Seneca County
students.
The
Barbara
N. Somers
Scholarship
Fund of The Tiffin
Charitable Foundation
The Barbara N. Somers
Scholarship Fund of
the Tiffin Charitable
Foundation was established
by her family in 2006, to
perpetuate her memory.
Mrs. Somers died in 2000 at
the age of 64 years. She was
a 1953 graduate of Calvert
High School, member of St.
Mary’s Catholic Church and
Calvert Touchdown Club.
Her seven surviving children
and husband determined
that the purpose of her fund
would be to provide high
school tuition scholarships
for students attending
Calvert High School in Tiffin,
Ohio. We recently received
this beautiful letter along
with a contribution to the
Somers Fund.
To The Barbara Somers
Scholarship Fund
Please accept this donation
from the Calvert Class of
2009 in memory of their
classmate and friend Kyle
M. Garrison. Although our
family never knew Barbara,
Kyle and our family were
positively impacted by her
children and grandchildren.
My son Kyle said many
times how much he loved
and admired the Somers
family. Kyle was proud to
call them his friends. May
this donation help to form
more good citizens of our
community.
Sincerely,
Ann, Erin and Katie Garrison
