DIWALI DHAMAKA at DPS,GBN!
INTER DPS MULTINATIONAL ATHELETICS MEET
A Diwali Fete was organised at Delhi Public School, GBN for the !rst
time since its inception, on November 1,
2015.The fete was inaugurated by Dr. Sudipta
Ghose, Member, School Managing
Committee and graced by the presence of our
Pro Vice -Chairperson, Mr. Vineet Nayyar,
Mrs. Reva Nayyar, Member, School
Managing Committee,Mrs. Nina Sehgal,
eminent educationist and Mrs. Meeta Rai,
Principal, DPS, Indirapuram. Lined with
stalls selling jewellery, clothes, gifts, toys,
painted diyas,stationary, greeting cards and an
array of mouthwatering eateries, the mela was
a treat for everyone. Children were seen having
fun at their favourite rides like ' Giant Wheel ' ,
'Columbus' and the various games
stalls.People "ocked to the in-house stalls
which had a beautiful display of lamp shades,
diyas and other hand crafted products made by
the pre-primary teachers of our school. There
were lucky draws at different times of the day
and exciting gifts like LED television, washing
machine, microwave and many others were
given to the lucky winners.
This cherished dream of our Principal, Mrs.
Indira Kohli, was not only a time of fun and frolic , but also a vehicle for
a social cause. The proceeds from the fete have been donated to Bal
Sahyog; an organisation which works for the underpriviledged.
GLORY TO THE SCHOOL
The Inter DPS Multinational Atheletics
Meet held at DPS Meerut from 27-29
November 2015, witnessed the
enthusiastic participation of Atheletes
from all over the DPSchools in India.
The three day mega event was
inaugurated by the BJP National Chief
Secretary Shri Varun Singh and the
Closing ceremony by the Central
Minister Uma Bharti. It was a proud moment for our School Delhi
Public, GBN to be ranked 5th in the overall Atheletic Meet as
Harprateek of class X broke the previous record in the 1500m race.

STATE ATHELETICS MEET
The students of Delhi Public School, GBN took
part in the 49th UP State Athletics Meet held

on 12 and 13 September, 2015 in
Lucknow. The students performed well and
were appreciated for their efforts. About 2000
students from India and abroad took part in
this Athletics Meet. The DM of Lucknow Mr.
Anil Kumar Sagar inaugurated the meet and
"agged off a series of events. The students of DPS GBN were
accompanied by their coach Mr. Virender Kumar. The Principal Mrs.
Indira Kohli applauded the students' efforts and encouraged them to
always perform their best.
TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT
The School's Table Tennis Team was ranked
third in the UP State Inter School Table
Tennis Championship held in Lucknow from
14th to 16th November, 2015. The
Championship was among the top teams from
all districts of Uttar Pradesh.DPS GBN's team
proved its metal by securing a place among the
top three teams. Kudos to the young champs!
CHECK YOUR VOCAB......
The Second round of Spell Bee in English was conducted on
18th November 2015 where in 134 students from classes 3-10
participated zealously. The participants fought enthusiastically to qualify
the second round and enter the third. Good Luck!
INTER DPS INDIAN ORCHESTRA FESTIVAL
Students of DPS,GBN participated in the Inter DPS Indian Orchestra

Festival organised at DPS, Faridabad on 20 November 2015 wherein
25 schools participated. Our budding artists from classes VI-X
participated enthusiastically showcasing their talents.
FOUNDER'S DAY

DPS,GBN celebrated its !rst Founder's Day on 27 ,29 and 30
November, 2015. On this ocassion Shri
Vineet Nayyar
Pro Vice Chairman,
inaugurated the newly constructed A. V. Hall
named after the harbinger and the cultural
ambassador of India Gurudev Rabindranath
Tagore. The Chief Guest on 29th November
2015 was Mrs.Vimla Batham, MLA BJP
NOIDA. Prof. Vibha Chaturvedi, former
Professor of Philosophy from University of
Delhi was the Chief Guest on 30 t h
November 2015 . The Founder's day was
graced by the members of Delhi Public
School Society,and the Chairman, Vice
Chairman, Pro Vice Chairman of the
School Management Committee and the
members of Delhi Public School, GBN along
with the Principals of other DPS schools and
neighbouring schools of NCR. The function
began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Prof.
Vibha Chaturvedi, distinguished guests, Mr.
Vineet Nayyar and Mrs. Reva Nayyar. The
momentous day was witnessed by the Parent
Representatives, grandparents and parents
of the school. The School Band along with the
School Choir Crescendo presented a
sonorous note “Bharat Anokha Raag Hai'”,
a treat for the music lovers. This was followed
by the Welcome Speech by the Principal Ms.
Indira Kohli and the release of the Brochure
titled“The Count of Monte Cristo”by the
Chief Guest and the other dignitaries. On
this occasion “An Art Gallery” was also
organized by the Art Department named
“Srijan” which showcased the talent of our
budding Picassos.
The evening became delightfully entertaining
with the musical Broadway' The Count of
Monte Cristo' which was staged for the occasion that evoked in all a
sense of excitement and experience of unprecedented success. The
musical play enthralled and engaged the audience on one hand and on
the other developed among the students sensitivity, self-con!dence and
team spirit as the innate sterling talents of the students blossomed into
joyful expression as they performed on the stage. The vote of thanks was
proposed by the Coordinator (Senior) Ms. Bhawna Khanna. The Mega
Event culminated with a motivating address given by the Chief Guest
Ms. Vibha Chaturvedi and Mr. Vineet Nayyar Pro Vice Chairman of DPS,
GBN to the audience, who appreciated the hard work behind the success
story of the Founder's Day.
