Christian Liaigre
Visionary interior designer Christian Liaigre unveils
a dozen of his most recent projects from around the
world in this exquisite oversized volume.
Over the past twenty-five years, Christian Liaigre has
built his reputation on the refined quality of his furniture
and interiors. With a keen sensibility for space and
light, design inspiration drawn from local cultures and
traditions, an affinity for artisanal work, and meticulous
attention given to the sourcing of materials, the designer
combines the art of understatement with great elegance.
According to Liaigre, interior architecture and design
should not be a reflection of fashion and trends, but
should instead embody timelessness, tranquil beauty,
and subtle luxury. For Liaigre, comfort resides in
delicacy and rareness.
Featuring private and public spaces from Nantucket to
Malibu, from Athens to Korea, and from the Caribbean
to London, this book takes the reader inside his rarefied
world to reveal his signature style. Highlights of his
freshest creations encompass the full range of his talents
in furniture and interior design.
This handsome large-format volume is a visual feast of
exquisitely reproduced images, offering inspiration for
professional architects and interior designers, as well as
home chic aficionados.

Sophie Rochas
Photography by Francis Hammond
Foreword by Olivier Saillard
The first fashion monograph dedicated to Marcel
Rochas, a key twentieth-century women’s wear
designer, written by his daughter.
Marcel Rochas (1902–1955) left an enduring legacy on
the world of fashion, inspiring a range of contemporary
designers. In this illustrated biography, Sophie Rochas
provides an intimate first-hand account of her father,
providing insights into his talents as an innovative
designer, revered socialite, attentive parent, and
demanding husband.
Rochas’s trademark designs included exaggerated
shoulders, the wasp-waisted bodice, a strapless girdle
that defined the female silhouette of the 1940s and
1950s, his Sirène gown, and the surrealist Oiseau dress.
His myriad creations were favored, both on-screen and
off, by Hollywood starlets including Carole Lombard,
Marlene Dietrich, and Mae West.
This monograph includes rare family photographs,
portraits by the great fashion photographers, as well as
Rochas’s iconic perfume bottles, style inspirations, and
most significant creations, which have since become
milestones in the history of women’s wear.

the Cry of silence
Vestiges of the armenian memory
Antoine Agoudjian
Foreword by Simon Abkarian
Antoine Agoudjian’s spellbinding photography is
dedicated to the Armenian cultural memory and
identity; this poignant tome marks the centenary of
the Armenian genocide.
1915. Against the background of World War I, the
Ottoman Empire began a program of systematic
extermination of their minority Armenian population.
Towns and villages were razed and minority settlements
uprooted. Thousands were deported, compelled to
undertake death marches, or forced into labor. In a
feat of unspeakable cruelty, over a million Armenians
were massacred. Those who survived fled their Turkish
homeland to form diaspora communities throughout the
world.
Antoine Agoudjian has dedicated his life’s work to
the photographic documentation of Armenian peoples,
exiled from a nation decimated by genocide and war.
Agoudjian’s evocative images explore cultural memory
and identity in the face of wholesale extermination
and consequent exile. In 2011, he became the first
photographer to hold an exhibition in Turkey on the
Armenian memory since the 1915 genocide. His work
evolved that same year from black-and-white to color
photography, and his message of tolerance transcends
beyond the Armenian community, offering hope in
the irrepressible strength of the human spirit. With
photographs taken around the world over the course of
nearly thirty years, Agoudjian documents what must not
be forgotten in powerfully moving and intimate images.

Danish artist Olafur Eliasson has received global acclaim
for his works, which harness the power of light and
color to striking effect. Renowned for his large-scale
installations—which often extend beyond museum

contemporary art accessible. He experiments with light,
color, and space, exploring the idea of perception and
engaging the spectator in his own personal experience of
the artwork.
The book opens with a virtual visit through Eliasson’s
artwork. Authoritative essays place his new exhibition
into context within the body of his previous works.
The volume is completed with an extensive interview
by the exhibition’s curators, the artist’s sketches and
preparatory drawings for the show, a biography,
bibliography, and list of works.
An innovative layout by the talented Dutch graphic
designer Irma Boom features the artist’s works printed in
full color on black paper, thereby emphasizing the hues of
the light beams and showcasing the interplay of shadow
and light, making this volume a veritable artist’s book.
Olafur Eliasson’s diverse oeuvre—from painting and
photography to sculpture and film—has been exhibited at the
Tate Modern and the Venice Biennale, and appears in collections
at MoMA, the Centre Pompidou, and the Tate Modern. Irma
Boom is an award-winning book designer. Suzanne Pagé is
artistic director of the Fondation Louis Vuitton. Leading art critic
Hans Ulrich Obrist and Laurence Bossé curated the exhibition.
Bruno Latour is a professor at Sciences Po. Caroline Jones is a
professor at MIT. Peter Coles is a theoretical cosmologist at the
University of Sussex. Richard Sennett is a professor at NYU, and
Cia Rinne is a writer, poet, and artist.

Through more than 300 works, Louvre Abu Dhabi: Birth of a Museum
reveals the acquisitions of the future collection. This book also tells the story
of the creation of a museum, the will that governed its invention,
and the way in which, in our time, a collection of exceptional quality is being
assembled for this institution that will mark the twenty-first century.
Each work is presented in its cultural context and follows the chronological
and thematic lines of the museum, while being put into the perspective
of the world’s great cultures—from the most ancient to the most modern,
from the archaeological to the contemporary. This book also makes
a significant contribution to the definition of a universal museum—the first
in the Arab world—where iconic works from various civilisations, geographic
areas, and periods of human history are exhibited side by side.
It forms part of the corpus of world art history, demonstrating,
and extending to Abu Dhabi, the beautiful phrase by Paul Cézanne,
who saw the Louvre as ‘the book in which we learn to read.’

LUNCH IN PROVENCE
In Lunch in Provence, photographer and best-selling author Rachael McKenna trains her lens
on the food and landscapes of Provence. This richly evocative blend of photographs, recipes,
literary and historical citations, and fine art is inspired by the spirit, beauty, and unparalleled
culinary traditions of Provence. From fortified medieval villages perched atop a mountain
to wide sweeps of dappled waves below, from tidy rows of lavender and grapevines to
pyramids of fresh produce and spices in the market, from flaky grilled sea bass with fresh
ratatouille to racks of lamb in an herb crust with crisp asparagus, and from hazelnut clafoutis
with cherries and raspberries to lemon tarts, all the sights and delights of Provence are
extolled in their finest sun-soaked glory.
Accompanying Rachael’s stunning images are reflections and recipes from chef
Jean-André Charial. Presenting a mixture of dishes from his own Michelin-starred restaurants
alongside traditional Provençal recipes, Charial illuminates the values that underpin his lifelong passion for food: his respect for ingredients, the environment, tradition, and creative
expression. In the appendixes that complete the volume, Charial’s restaurants, their history,
and their teams of chefs are presented, accompanied by a gourmet index of recipes,
ingredients, and regional products.
Setting the magnificent scene is an introduction by Patricia Wells that celebrates and
illuminates the tradition of lunches that makes this region so adored by Francophiles
and food-lovers alike.
