BEATBOX BATTLE® NETWORK
WE LOVE BEATBOXING
The Brand
The concept of the Human Beatbox Championships was established in the spring of
2001 in Berlin. As the producer of the series, Bee Low patented the culture brand,
BEATBOX BATTLE®, in 2003 at the german patent and trademark office.
Through his many connections in the global vocal percussion community, Bee Low
was able to help spread the concept to 56 different countries, while taking a large
part in co-ordinating, hosting, and managing many of these beatbox events.
The network has since grown into one of the most recognized institutes in the
global human beatbox community, having a hand in almost all official beatboxing
events across the globe.

HUMAN BEATBOXING & POP MUSIC
URBAN CULTURE
Youth Culture
Human beatbox culture emerged in the early eighties in the United States.
Beatboxing developed as a method to imitate different musical instruments and
tones using only the human mouth, voice, and throat.
Today, beatboxing has become more widely recognised and accepted as a musical
art form, and has brought its influence both to the music industry and marketing
industry. A single beatboxer can instantly transform from a sophisticated larynx
acrobatics into a complete music band with drummer, bassist and vocal DJ.
The mystery of human beatboxing is reflected in the various entertainment
industries, be it pop icon Justin Timberlake, Bobby Mc Ferrin, or Michael Winslow
from Police Academy. Various TV programs have evolved their schedule to include
the theme of vocal percussion as a mainstay.
