 INDUOTEATRO
INDUOTEATRO PRODUCTIONS born in late 2009 of the encounter three-theater professionals
Andaluz, José Manuel Sánchez “Andreu”, director of scene (producer) who has in his curriculum
more than thirty theatrical directed spectacles. Pilar Jiménez, actress and set designer, cofounder with Andreu of the companies “Amaranta Teatro” and “D’accion Merx”, which for 15
years developed the theatrical labor in multitude of andalusian scenes obtaining the
consideration of company revelation at the end of the 90s, and Chico Garcia, actor and
licentiate in dramatic art for the High School of Dramatic Art of Malaga. From the foundation has
established clearly his principal objective inside the theatrical activity attending to the most
important and essential aspect of any representation: the interpretation of the actors in the
theatre of text. His shows range from comedy to drama of the great classics. INDUOTEATRO
PRODUCCIONES has come to consolidate within the Spanish theater sector in just a few
years, as a theater company specializing in Greco-Roman Theatre and Spanish classical
theater, with a unique style and distinctive theatrical language in continuing research. This
exponential growth in their productions is due to the development of a corporate structure
seated on two pillars, the management apparatus whose business ethics pursues theatrical
consolidation as a cultural product adaptable and responsive to social and economic reality
around us, and artistic department is firmly committed to bring to the stage where THEATRE
productions poses to the viewer a cultural experience that reflects in the interest of this by
approaching again to the theatrical. A sample of this business growth is participation in the last
two editions in the INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF CLASSICAL THEATRE OF MERIDA, with
its shows, MEDEA (2011) and FEDRA (2012) as well as an increase in the number of
performances by different national Roman theaters. Also in 2013 INDUOTEATRO
PRODUCTIONS has been invited by INTERNATIONAL THEATRE INSTITUTE (ITI) to
participate in the 17th INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ANCIENT GREEK DRAMA of Cyprus,
thus beginning a new business career in the export of the Spanish theater beyond our country.
In this business development INDUOTEATRO PRODUCTIONS has carried out in August 2013
the production, management and direction of the first edition of CLASSIC THEATRE FESTIVAL
OF ESTEPONA.
Through these two years of work INDUOTEATRO PRODUCCIONES has taken to scene three
spectacles, TENORIO’S SHADOW (december 2009) by Jose Luis Alonso de Santos,
interpreted by Chico Garcia and where the critique has emphasized his interpretive work. At the
beginning of 2011 INDUOTEATRO release MEDEA of Euripides under the direction of Andreu
and with Pilar Jimenez to the front as protagonist. In this new spectacle the company
submerges in the mythical classic tragedy of Euripides, to take to scene an assembly where
classic tragedy and flamenco join in a scenic perfect balance between both kinds. This
spectacle has been recently included in the program of 57 edition of the International Festival of
Classic Theatre of Mérida and rewarded also in Theatre's National Contest of the city of Lerma
(Burgos). It is also in March 2011, and coinciding with the world day of the Theatre, when
INDUOTEATRO releases his third spectacle I.OEDIPUS, contemporary tragedy based on the
myth of Oedipus, with Chico Garcia’s original texts from the works of Sophocles and Seneca,
and led by Chico Garcia and Pilar Jimenez. At 2012 INDUOTEATRO PRODUCCIONES
produces PHAEDRA, Andreu is the director and the actors, again, Chico Garcia and Pilar
Jiménez, and premieres at the 58th International Festival of Classical Theatre, the roman
theater of Regina. For 2013 INDUOTEATRO PRODUCCIONES has settled a score to settle
with the Spanish Classical Theatre of the Golden Age, with its new production NO TEASING
WITH CALDERON a show created from the comedy "No teasing with love" and mummery
"visions of Death "by Calderon de la Barca.
PHAEDRA
Phaedra is perhaps one of the more contemporary plays of
Universal Theatre history, because it has no doubt in his
words a totality of meanings that makes you always alive
despite centuries and versions on tables scenarios around
the world have been carried out, and in part of this
statement lies in the feeling that weaves all work, human
feeling Love Only able to trigger a desire or enmity, carnal
obsession irrational or that dose of courage unconscious
to bring human beings to transcend the limits of the
morally reasonable. That's Phaedra, a game of contrasts of
the soul, where the Phaedra heartbeat of the forbidden is
flooded, obsessed and surrendering before nature neat
virgin her stepson Hippolytus, which far from the passions
carnal ambitions of power and lives to the dictates of
nature, of its forests and wildlife.

InduoTheater of Malaga bring "Fedra" to Gades

Gades Theatre. 12/01/2013.
A wise way to do to get the tragedy of
the public
Text and photos: Manuel Torres Fernández
After showing his talent at the Classical Theatre
Festival of Mérida, and at scenarios as Regina
and the Roman Theatre in Malaga, Phaedra by
InduoTheare of Málaga landed last weekend in
the capital on the Gades theatre.
The company plays its cards with a simple staging , but well executed , they succeed in
winning the public. A circle defines the stage space Orkestra nod to the classic of ancient
Greek theaters, and a long wooden poles arranged around it able to generate a climate
of threat that oppresses the characters.
As if this were not enough, the
characters leave the scene remain
on stage watching his teammates
from outside the circle and
enhancing
this
climate
of
oppression that becomes palpable.
To refine the proposal, are located
next to the rods a number of
incense burners finish make a ritual
theater of the public is a
participant.
This
setting
is
accompanied by lighting foci using
zenith and low rise side to give us
images of beautiful aesthetics and
strong impact. In the adaptation of the text we have to also director Andreu, drinking from
Seneca's Phaedra and Hippolytus of Euripides for making them. As a nod to these
sources chose to headline his show as "Phaedra by Euripides."

Andreu has deleted the choir
in exchange for introducing a
new character. It is a kind of
demon representing Aphrodite
and that texts taken from Ovid,
supports history and rescues
the parliaments of the choir.
The proposal of Andreu rides
between the classic and the
contemporary purism.
It lasts 70 minutes, of which contributed to a successful show duration for both the
knowledgeable audience of the density of the tragedy, as for those who are new to
these seas. His actors work well harbor a high energy, and know move suffering and
passions of his characters into the audience. As icing, the charity event: for every kilo of
food delivered in purchasing a ticket, the audience benefited from another free entry.
It is the first time that Induotheater represents Fedra to load the Italian theater, but given
the success, we hope to continue increasing in many more occasions.

The Gades Theatre hosted last weekend tragedy Phaedra,
Euripides, a story of incestuous love. In this sober assembly Induo
Theatre laden universal feelings, Pilar Jiménez and García Chico
briskly suffer the ravages of passion.
Text: Sébastien Rampon
For its premiere, the adaptation of the classic tragedy Phaedra,
Euripides, by Induo Theatre company got a full house, so much
accumulated queue at the entrance of the room Gades, that the function was
started with a few minutes delay....
Special features of the event, the Andalusian company and the Ministry of
Culture and Sport of the Junta de Andalucía have been associated with the
food bank Bancosol Malaga for a laudable humanitarian initiative by
purchasing a ticket and delivering a kilogram of food for the most needy, the
viewers were given away another entry.

Maybe that's why the capacity was completed without difficulty. Or perhaps it
was the pull of the universal history of Phaedra? Perhaps in order not to lose
their social or tormented position by his irrepressible passion for her stepson
Hippolytus, the palms, Phaedra tells her husband Theseus that Hippolytus has
raped, thereby precipitating the fall and disgrace the man, only anime by the
charms of nature and friendship toward his faithful companion Theramenes
(played by Paco Bastida).
Make no mistake, witnessing a tragedy, pure and hard, well supported by
the experience of the actors, especially the leading duo, actress and set
designer Pilar Jimenez (Phaedra) and Chico Garcia (Hippolytus), whose
extensive record and we saw a few months ago in Shadow of Tenorio . Jobs in
value of a minimalist and elegant scenery Jose Manuel Sanchez "Andreu" and
the very Pilar Jimenez (accredited by the lighting and space), the actors are
continually torn and with great conviction. Solid understanding of Jesus
Luque also in the thankless role of Theseus, the husband cheated and
betrayed.
Deceived Theseus? Not quite, because the version of Euripides, Phaedra's love
for Hippolytus is not reciprocated. Beyond the universal taboo supposed love
between a stepson and stepmother, -who could not even be described as
incestuous as the link between the protagonists is not blood- Hippolyte devoid
of personal ambition has no more worries to hunt and wander forest in the
company of his friend Theramenes. And when the innocent Hippolytus says
"hate women", one can legitimately ask whether or homosexual or misogynist.
Anyway, in ancient Greece, it was no wonder homosexuality or bisexuality.
In the end, both Phaedra and Hippolytus are repudiated by the patriarch, which
makes them responsible for having sullied the family name. And when fate he
meets all the characteristic irony of Greek tragedy, a dying by falling horse
meets its goal of finding peace Hippolytus moments before his accident, it was
he who claimed to prefer being released from his misery by "a sweet dreams".
Betrayals, disappointments love, deception, power games and taboos:
this book has all the ingredients of a soap opera in the making, with a
modernity that knew Induo Theatre show. Rain deserved applause for the
troupe.
