Welcome in Brda, one of the most picturesque
landscapes in the world.
For millenniums known as “The Orchard of
Europe”, today also referred as the “Slovenian
Tuscany”.
The land of top quality wines, premium fruit and
olive oil and foremost generous and hospitable
people is a part of a comprehensive offer of a wider
Gorizia region. Extremely diverse beauty of the
landscape marked by emerald green Soča river
and Vipava that extends from the Alps to the sea,
rich cultural and historical heritage and countless
options for active holidays, build a memorable
experience for travelers who visit us.
In the far west of Slovenia we weave close ties with
Italy, Austria and Croatia. In the mixture of cultures
we write the story of tourism of new dimensions.
Tourism, which blurs the boundaries.
Natour Alps 2014 is also a part of this mission. And
I am glad that you are part of this story as well.

Dear colleagues,
Natour Workshop will this year take place in Goriška
Brda. Over the last years Brda, as a well known wine
region, put a lot of effort in promotion of walking,
hiking and cycling through the beautiful vineyards
and picturesque landscape. It is a very important
and significant region that is crossed by the Alpe
Adria Trail, the three nations project of long distance
path which connects the highest Austrian mountain
Grossglockner with Adriatic sea at Muggia near
Trieste in Italy and Slovenian west south part.
Destinations, hoteliers and sport agencies from
Slovenia will try to sell their offer to agencies from
abroad. They expect that foreign agencies and tour
operators will include their packages in their digital
programmes and printed catalogues.
During the workshop at a short Natour conference
we will present good practices of foreign and
domestic outdoor tourist products which will show
us how different outdoor activities in different parts
of Slovenia, Hungary and Austria attract tourists.
We hope that wine tasting, traditional culinary
delights and short excursions through the region
will give you positive emotions and satisfy your
expectations.

Slovenian Tuscany
Brda – a fairy tale landscape, from where the view
stretches out to the sea, Friuli and Veneto, a land
of hills, nested halfway between the Alps and the
Adriatic Sea. The abundance of beauties, attractions

A Millennial crossroads of three cultures: Slavic,

Alpe Adria Trail
The Alpe-Adria-Trail connects the three regions of
Carinthia, Slovenia and Friuli Venezia Giulia in a total
of 43 stages. This long distance hiking trail leads
from the foot of the highest mountain in Austria, the
Grossglockner, through the most beautiful mountain
and lake regions in Carinthia, and without any major detours leads close to the point where the three
countries of Austria, Italy and Slovenia intersect at
the Dreiländereck, and then on towards Trieste and
the Adriatic.

the centre of Kobarid and it can accept 280 guests.
