ORDER BY THE H I G H COMMISSIONER.
I N VIRTUE of the powers conferred on the High Commissioner by
section 5(3) of the Immigration Ordinance, 1941, His Excellency is
pleased to order and it is hereby ordered as follows: —
No. 5 of 1941.
The maximum aggregate number of immigration certificates in all
categories that may be granted during the period from the 15th
March, 1946, to the 14th A p r i l , 1946, shall be
1,600.
No immigration certificate issued during this period shall be valid
for the admission of more than one person.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
The quota prescribed above provides for the issue of immigration certificates for
Palestine during the month beginning on the 15th of March and ending on the 14th
of A p r i l , 1946.

Jewish immigrants.

( 2 ) Every person holding an authorisation, permit, licence or exemp­
tion granted under this Order shall comply with every condition im­
posed by such authorisation, permit, licence or exemption.

I N E X E R C I S E of the powers vested in him by the Supplies and Services (Transitional
Powers) Act, 1945, as extended to Palestine by the Supplies and Services (Transitional
Powers) (Colonies etc.) Order in Council, 1946, and all other powers'enabling him in
that behalf, the High Commissioner has ordered, and it is hereby ordered, as follows: —
1. This Order may be cited as the Supplies and Services (Transitional Powers) (Amendment) Order, 1946, and shall be read as one with
the Supplies and Services (Transitional Powers) Order, 1946, herein­
after referred to as "the principal Order".
2. Part II of the Schedule to the principal Order shall be amended
by the insertion therein of the expression "of Regulation 10" imme­
diately after the expression "paragraph (1)" appearing in Column
2 of that Part opposite the expression "The Defence (Finance) Regul­
ations, 1941" appearing in Column 1 of that Part.

N O T I C E I S H E R E B Y G I V E N that, in exercise of the powers vested in him
by section 18 of the Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1934, the
High Commissioner has prescribed the 1st day of A p r i l , 1946, and the
said date is hereby prescribed, as the date for the holding of elections
for councillors for the municipal corporation of Bethlehem.
