medieval hamlets such as Buggiano Castello, Uzzano, Massa Cozzile and discover also yummy restaurants
where you may try local specialties.
The apartments are tastefully furnished with all kind of comfort such as air-conditioning, WIFI, SAT-TV, a
completely fenced garden and a marvelous swimming pool, (set in earth) 12 x 6m, depth: 1.20m) with external

barbeque.
The owners are glad to assist you, on request they may accompany you on relaxing strolls, on treks of the

"Al Ciliegio" is a lovely holiday home located on the countryside nearby the beautiful hilltop village of Montecarlo,
on the hills east of Lucca. The house lies in secluded position within short distance from the residential area of
the village. It is surrounded by gentle sloping hills covered by olive grooves and has gorgeous views onto Pescia,
Uzzano and Montecatini. Though being in the open countryside, the house is conveniently located: it has all basic
services nearby (like pharmacy, post office, groceries and easy access to the motorway), as well as an easy
connection with Lucca. The coast is likewise easy to reach via the motorway which is in 10 min driving distance
from the house.
Besides, the house has a spacious and well-kept garden, completely fenced, with a pool (out of the earth, size
8x4m, depth 1,32m) where guests may relax and bathe in the sun. For the children there is a funny slide for
playing under the supervision of their parents.
On one side of the house there is, also, a lovely veranda equipped with a table, chairs, kitchenette with small gas
oven and sink for cooking and eating al fresco during the beautiful Summer nights while enjoying the great views
onto the surrounding countryside.
The interiors of the house are composed as follows: the dining/living room is accessed by the veranda on one
side of the house. It is furnished with a table, chairs, 1 double sofa-bed, fire-place and TV. Next to the

visit several wineries quite easily either on foot or by bike.
The surroundings have a lot to offer for everybody: the Pinocchio Park in Collodi is just a few kilometres away,
the golf course and the spa resort Montecatini are not far either. Of course it is worth visiting Tuscany’s cities of
arts such as Lucca, Firenze, Pisa, Siena which are good destinations for a daily trip.
On the ground floor below the holiday home there is a tiny place where everyday in the evening you can taste the
local specialities cooked by the owner and homemade wine. To refresh yourself there is a swimming pool (half set
in earth, 9x4 m, 1,40 m deep) and at your disposal there are also deckchairs, beach umbrellas and shower. If you
want to have a meal in the open air there is a private covered garden area equipped with table, chairs and
barbeque.

area. If you have recovered you may discover the elegant boutiques of Montecatini Terme or play a round of golf
or try to increase your pocket money while betting on the horse-track…. There are many hamlets nearby –
Buggiano Castello, Uzzano, Massa e Cozzile (on which you have splendid views from your holiday home), where
you may have nice strolls and discover meanwhile traditional restaurant offering local dishes.

health spa. Visitors will also find in Montecatini elegant boutiques, a horse race track and a golf court.

The house is for the sole use of the guests: the 1st floor is not inhabited and remains closed whereas two rooms
on the ground floor are for the use of the owners and therefore not accessible to the guests. The house is built on
terraced grounds, the entrance is on the 1st floor. The interiors consist of: hallway, living room with 1 double
sofa-bed, 2 chairs, window with wonderful views onto the valley. 1 double bedroom (beds may be divided), 1

“Podere l’istrice” is part of a stone house located on the hills east of Lucca (Val di Nievole). The house lies in a
sunny position with beautiful surroundings and has striking views onto the tiny old village of Massa e Cozzile.
Val di Nievole is a magnificent area located halfway between Lucca and Pistoia and offers lots of day trip
possibilities for touring Tuscany. Its location is a good starting point for visiting Firenze, Pisa and Lucca or also for
discovering minor centres, among these: Montecatini Terme which is very popular for its healing waters and
health spa. Visitors will also find in Montecatini elegant boutiques, a horse race track and a golf court.
Nearby there are also charming little hamlets such as Buggiano Castello, Uzzano and Massa e Cozzile: have nice
walks and discover delicious restaurants where you can taste local products.
On the front of the house there is a covered veranda with a big wooden table and chairs for dining al fresco while
enjoying the gorgeous views. The house is surrounded by a well cared, completely fenced garden (mesh wire
1,30 m high) with various flowers and herbs. It is equipped with a beautiful swimming pool prefabricated, partly set
in earth (3,80 x 7,90 1,20 m deep) with deck-chairs and sun umbrella for sunbathing. Entrance on the ground
floor: traditional country-kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, small electrical oven, fridge with freezer
compartment, fireplace, wood burning stove and small wooden table. 1 spacious dining/living room with a big
wooden table, SAT TV, leather sofa and arm chairs, a beautiful old style heater and a door to access the garden.
In this room some of the walls have visible stones and the ceilings have wooden beams. Access to the 1st floor
within stone stairs: 1 bathroom with shower, wc/bidet. 1 double bedroom with private bathroom (shower, wc/bidet)
and wonderful views. 1 bedroom with 1 bunk bed (on request 1 additional bed is possible). A walk-through room
with 1 single bed-settee. On the 1st floor all rooms have terracotta tiled floors and beamed ceilings. The house is
bright and very well kept. The furnishings have been chosen with great care by the owners and the walls have
nice light colours.
There is a barbecue at the guests’ disposal in the garden.
Guests may park their car within the property.
In order to get to the house you will have to drive for 1,5 km on a not asphalted road into the wood, where you
may meet “inhabitants” of the wood. Among these, there is the hedgehog. This is why the owners decided to call
the house “Podere l’Istrice”. You will be fascinated both by the house and its striking location.
