USS George H.W. Bush

War II. Its unique seal features a layered profile of the F-35C Lightning II and F/A-18 Hornet – aircraft stationed on the vessel’s deck – and the TBM
Avenger, a warbird flown by then-Lieutenant Bush in the Second World War.

Capt. Colin Kelly’s B-17 came under attack from Japanese Zeros led
by 64-victory ace Saburo Sakai. As Kelly piloted his crippled aircraft
back to the Philippines, he ordered his crew to bail out;
he was killed in the ensuing attempt to crash-land his warbird.
His dramatic effort made him one of the war’s first heroes.

not play a significant role in combat, it was perhaps the most

from conventional design. This historical re-creation is signed

Stan Stokes. The Brewster F2A Buffalo was the Navy’s first
monoplane fighter, though, by the time the U.S. entered World War
II, it was nearly obsolete. The Buffalo did, however, find success with
the Finnish Air Force as they faced the less advanced aircraft and less
experienced aviators of the Soviet Union. Here, Air Master Sergeant
Eino Juutilainen – the top-scoring Finnish ace of the war – pilots his
Buffalo, in which achieved 33 of his 94 kills, against invading Soviet
P-40s. Signed by the artist and Juutilainen!

Stan Stokes. First flown in June of 1959, the rocket-powered X-15 – despite the
fact that only three were manufactured – is one of the most legendary aircraft in
the history of flight. It set numerous speed and altitude records, many of which
remain standing after nearly fifty years: on October 3, 1967, for example, Colonel
William J. "Pete" Knight achieved a record-setting top speed of 4,519 miles per
hour. This limited edition print, depicting the X-15 high above the Earth's surface,
is signed by the artist and Col. Knight! 16”x 11½”.

With his guns jammed, low on fuel, and unwilling to make himself a target,
he instinctively pulled his revolver and aimed it at the Luftwaffe pilot who
in turn jettisoned his canopy and bailed out. This limited edition print pays

Angels of Okinawa
Stan Stokes. During the World War II Okinawa Campaign, an incredible 3,000
Kamikaze attacks were targeted at American naval vessels. The F4U Corsair
was instrumental in the U.S. defense of these ships, keeping 2,600 Japanese
pilots from succeeding. This exciting print is a dramatic re-creation of Marine
Major Archie Donahue, flying with VMF-451 off the USS Bunker Hill, piloting
his Corsair against the dive-bombing Zero on its Kamikaze mission. It arrives

– using lessons learned from poor aerial combat
performance against Soviet MiGs in Korea –
issued a requirement for its first supersonic,
carrier-based, air-superiority aircraft: the F-8

came in Vietnam where it sported a 6-to-1 kill ratio,
better than any other U.S. fighter. Here, an F-8

Joseph Engle
The youngest person to ever qualify as an astronaut, Lt. Joseph Engle
achieved his wings in 1965 aboard the rocket-powered X-15. He was
32 years old. He is also the only person to ever fly two vehicles into
space (the X-15 and Space Shuttle). His first aircraft, however,
was the F-100D Super Sabre, flown while
getting his pilot’s wings in 1958.

The clearly defined notions of enemy and friend are often blurred during the course of combat.
In January 1972, Vietnamese aviator Nguyen Hong My destroyed an RF-4C piloted by John Stiles.
Months later, in April, Dan Cherry spotted a MiG-21 piloted by Hong My and shot down the enemy
plane. Thirty-six years later, Cherry returned to Vietnam and, incredibly, befriended the man
whose aircraft he destroyed.

Stan Stokes. On November 29, 1943, the crew of the “Sexation,”
