Congratulations to our 2015 Festival Award Winners: Michael Miller,

In an effort to remember the Ash
trees felled by the Emerald Ash
Borer in Ohio, the City of Upper
Arlington’s Concourse Gallery
invited artists around Ohio to create
a piece or two showcasing the
characteristics of ash wood. Thank
you to the following artists who
started with ash trees from Upper
The items Jeff creates are made the
old way: by hand. The wood comes
from a variety of places: fallen
trees, shop offcuts, and even old
xylophones. Each item has a food
safe finish. His goal is to elevate the
importance of these items in our daily
lives, and hopefully enrich each day
Arlington and created something
that will last far beyond ash trees in
our community:

MUSE GALLERY:

We are enjoying the second year of our
pARTnership bringing the artists from
Muse Gallery to ours. Muse Gallery is
thrilled to represent many international
artists, including Sol Halabi, Tania
Abrile, Tolosa, and others. Working in
conjunction with Maria Elena Kravetz
Gallery (in Cordova), we are able to bring
to Ohio some of the best contemporary
Argentinian artists working today. Muse
Gallery has been operating in Columbus,
Ohio for 18 years, representing over 35
international emerging and mid-career
artists.

Sol Halabi was born in 1977 in Córdoba,
Argentina. She graduated in the School
of Fine Arts “Figueroa Alcorta” and in the
National University of Córdoba. Sol Halabi
has been recognized as an outstanding
artist of her generation; she has received
painting prizes and has been awarded
with the “University Award” in 2003
and has been distinguished as one of
“top 10 outstanding young people of
Argentina” in 2011. She has exhibited
her works individually and collectively in
several occasions in America, Germany,
Panama and Argentina. Her works have
participated in international fairs, such as
ArtMiami, SOFA Chicago, SOFA New York
in America and ArteBA in Argentina.
Registration is now open for The Write
Stuff Writers’ Conference and Expo to be
held at the UA Main Library on Saturday,
November 14. This collaboration of the
UA Parks and Recreation Department, the
UA Cultural Arts Division, and the Library
will feature talks by seven authors and
an expo of publishing organizations and
companies. Workshops include:
