President’s Message
I hope that everyone is
doing well and enjoying
the summer. Our
Executive Board has
been busy getting
everything ready for the
2015-2016 meetings. I
would just like to take a
moment to thank
everyone who attended
our 10th Anniversary
celebration. By all
accounts, this party was
a huge success. We had
good food, good guests
and a great time was
had by all. To those that
missed it, we’re sorry
that you couldn’t be
there and hope you will
join us for our future
activities.
As most of you may or
may not know, the
Milleridge Inn has been
sold. Unfortunately,
come the end of the
year we have been
unable to receive a
definitive answer on
whether or not the
restaurant will remain
open. Due to this we
have been forced to
look elsewhere for a
central location to hold
our meetings. With this
in mind, beginning with
our September meeting,
our new location will
become The Holiday Inn
in Plainview. It is
located at Sunnyside
Blvd., on the north side
of the expressway.
They have a very nice
room for us and the
food is very good.
Several of us had
occasion to eat there
recently and all agreed
that the food was
actually better than the
Milleridge. The only
thing missing was
Maria. Change is always
difficult. We have been
going to The Milleridge
for many years but we
did not want to take a
chance and get stuck

Important Information Regarding Our Monthly Meetings
· We were disappointed to learn that after 10 years at The Milleridge Inn, the restaurant
has been sold and therefore cannot guarantee that we’ll have a place to meet after the
1st of the year
· Effective with our September meeting, our new venue will be The Holiday Inn, 215
Sunnyside Blvd., Plainview, NY 11803. The meeting room is the Hampton South located
on the main level
· Please note the date for our September meeting will be on the 10th, which is the 2nd
Thursday of the month
· Please note the date for our October meeting will be on the 22nd which is the 4th
Thursday of the month
· Starting in November, our meetings will be held at the usual time of the month, on the
3rd Thursday.

with no place to hold our meetings. Please try to join us for the first
meeting which will be held on Thursday September 10. We had to move
the date due to availability and Vision Expo West the following week. We
will have more information in the coming weeks. The Executive Board is
already making plans for future events. We are getting new sponsors and
speakers and plan to have a jam packed agenda.
As always, if you can see your way clear we can always use more help.
Please contact us if you would like to work with us on a committee or help
in any way. Have a safe and healthy summer. I look forward to seeing
everyone soon.
