This competition was held July 29-‐31, 2015 on the Purdue University campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. With over 2,000 wines in this year’s competition, Huber’s submitted 22 wines and received 22 medals. An extraordinary showcase for Huber’s and it seems that Huber’s commitment to agriculture is setting them apart from others. Ted Huber had this to say about their recent awards, “We spend countless hours in the vineyards because we know the highest quality wine starts in the vineyards. Healthy vineyards coupled with the extraordinary skills of our winemaking team and our endless dedication to our mission of producing only the highest quality wines is continuing to carry us to the top”. With 6 Double Gold, 4 Gold, 8 Silver, and 4 Bronze -‐ Huber’s is Indiana’s largest estate bottled winery with over 80 acres of grapes and growing over 20 varieties of grapes which include Bordeaux varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and native American varietals like Seyval Blanc, Chardonel, Niagara, and Catawba. The success of these vines and the resulting award-‐winning wines validates Simon Huber’s belief that Southern Indiana is a truly wonderful place to grow grapes and produce world-‐class wines. Huber’s has been “Family Owned and Farmed since 1843” and proudly brands this message to all guests. Starting with only two 80 acre tracts of land, this business has diversified and grown to over 700 acres today. Producing not only wines but also brandies, ports, infusions, and most recently added the other spirits of Vodka, Gin, and Bourbon with the recent passing of the Craft Artisan Permit in Indiana.
