The Story of
Laporiya
The village of Laporiya, located in
the Dudu block of Rajasthan's
Jaipur district, made headlines in
2001 as the only village in the
district that did not require aid in
the form of water tankers when all
the surrounding district was
drought-stricken.

• Once upon a time, long, long ago, a herd
of cows went to a pond for a drink of
water. While all the cows drank, the Gau
Mata (mother cow) stood back. When
asked why she wasn't drinking, she replied
that the pond was polluted.
• It hadn't been worshipped and honoured
before being made
available as a watering
hole.

• This very story has changed the fortunes of
Laporiya by making the people realize that
water is precious and must be cherished and
worshipped if it is to be enjoyed.
• Part of the first water
of the day that is drawn
from the wells or tanks
is poured as an offering
on the Shiva shrines
built next to each
watering hole.
Ritual and regeneration have become part of
the lives of the people of Laporiya and
strengthen their belief that they can beat
the drought and never thirst for water
again," Singh said.
Laporiya is the only village in the district
that still boasts fields of crops and generous
pastureland.

leadership of Laxman Singh,
age 45.
• He has dedicated his entire
life to reviving traditional
rainwater harvesting systems
in a parched and barren land.

water.

• Japan's Fujiwara Dam. First, a photo (at left) was
taken of a frozen water sample from the lake
there. The water's structure is dark and
amorphous, with no crystalline form.
• Reverend Kato Hoki — chief priest of the Jyuhouin
Temple — conducted a one-hour prayer practice
beside the dam.
After the prayer session had been done, a new
water sample was taken, frozen, and photographed.
The change, as you can see in the photograph at
the right, was stunning. The ugly blob of the former
sample had become a clear, bright-white, hexagonal
crystal-within-a-crystal.

• Dr Masaru Emoto found this to be the
most beautiful crystal of all. It changed
his life for it taught him the impact of
love and gratitude can have on the world.

being 70 % water, it is so
understandable how words
can impact us.

water
• Most people would agree that
music can alter our moods and
that words can change our
feelings.
• A possible explanation for that
may be found in water.
• As these photographs show, the
vibrations contained in music and
words cause a change in the
crystalline structure of water
molecules.
•When Elvis Presley's
"Heartbreak Hotel" was played
to water, the resulting frozen
crystals were split in two.
When water samples were
bombarded with heavy metal
music or labeled with negative
words, or when negative thoughts
and emotions were focused
intentionally upon them, the water
did not form crystals at all and
displayed chaotic, fragmented
structures
•When water was treated with aromatic
floral oils, the water crystals tended to
mimic the shape of the original flower. At
right, water crystals were exposed to
aromatic essence of chamomile (note the
inset picture of the flowers themselves)

responded with an image reminiscent
of the costumes that the women
wore when they were dancing!
• This formation shows not simply a sympathetic
vibration, but intelligence.

factual evidence that the
environment, thoughts, words,
ideas and music, affect the
molecular structure of water--the very same water that
