In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Council of Ministers by Articles 12 (3) and 39(c) of the Protocol on the

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred upon the Council of Ministers by Section 114 (3) of the East African Community
Customs Management Act, 2004, the Council of Ministers has amended the Exemptions Regime under the Fifth Schedule to the
Act as follows:
1.
Amended PART B-GENERAL EXEMPTIONS, by adding the words “blood collection tubes” in the heading of
paragraph 14 and in the text of paragraph 14.
2.
Amended paragraph 26 of PART B-GENERAL EXEMPTIONS, by deleting the words “spare parts, and
accessories” to read as follows:
“Specialised equipment for development and generation of Solar and Wind Energy, including accessories and deep
cycle batteries which use and/or store solar power.”
3.
Amended PART B-GENERAL EXEMPTIONS, by deleting paragraph 19 and replacing with it the following:
19. “heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment for pharmaceutical manufacturers”.
4. Amended PART B-GENERAL EXEMPTIONS as follows:

By renumbering paragraph 28 as 28 (1)
