Wheel speed sensor may cause engine-control problems.

Condition:
Some Hyundai’s without Anti Lock Brakes are equipped with wheel
speed sensors. Vehicles listed above that have 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engines use the front
right wheel speed sensor input for engine control data. In these vehicles the engine
control computer compares the right front wheel speed sensor signal to the vehicle
speed sensor signal. The comparison of signals tells the computer if the car is being
driven on a rough road. If this is so, the computer shuts down the engine misfire
monitoring system. If the engine control system does not receive a signal from the
wheel speed sensors, it will illuminate the check engine light. Trouble code P1502
“Short or open wheel speed sensor circuit.” You can check the circuit with a digital voltohmmeter. Resistance should read about 1.4k ohms.
