CONCEPT
Materials
High-tech materials with Haute Craft processes. The
materials are ennobled with futuristic technologies. High
frequency, 3D finishes, heat applications, welding, thermosfilm, push up. Matte finishes together with precious materials
like reptiles. A mixture of couture sport and glam Gothic with
satin finishes, rubberized and shined effects; glitter and “semigloss” varnish.
Shapes
Shoe bottoms from the world of metropolitan street
outerwear evolve in a vertical direction. With contrasting points
and angles. Oversized volumes with block-shaped lines. The
details of the upper become increasingly more sophisticated thanks
to injection and thermo-fusion technologies. The bags are
rigid, box-shaped, coupled with innovative materials.

FOCUS ON HIGH FREQUENCY TECNIQUE
It is a special procedure
that can be used on
plastics, leather, textiles,
synthetic, reflective and
many other materials.
The material, traversed

the molecules that
compose it come into
vibration and are heated
up to the melting point.
This technique allows
to obtain written and

geometric designs and
opticals creating effects
that can be emphasized
by the superimposition
of other processes
such as spraying or

CONSUMER GOODS & MARKETS
Masculine style accessories are the order of the day – think
flat footwear, briefcase-styled bags and backpacks.
The accessories category currently has the highest number
of unisex products on offer, so retailers would be wise
to build into this with the items they stock for fall 2015.
Genuinely unisex accessories, like leath rucksacks, scarves,
hats and totes, should be part of brands’ communications.
It is quality of craftsmanship of materials, which will attract
attention across genders.

Pop-up retail fits right in with the entertainment economy,
the experience economy, the surprise economy, and
so on. It’s about surprising consumers with temporary

fashion bus or oceanic, pop-up retail also offers unparalleled
opportunities for targeting and customization.

Ars Sutoria - Background
The Ars Sutoria magazine was founded in 1947 specifically for footwear manufacturers.
Since its origin, the magazine has been produced inside the publishing offices of the
International Technical Institute for the Footwear Industry – to underline the fact that this
publishing experience is rooted in the desire to offer footwear professional contents that
are both creative and highly technical, i.e. never disconnected from the reality of the Italian
manufacturing industry. The first issues of the magazine, which are still available for viewing
at the Milan headquarters, presented footwear ideas, concepts and designs. Our aim is to
recapture this proactive spirit.
Over the years, the Ars Sutoria magazine has become the reference point for learning about
footwear collections, materials and components. The possibility to travel around the world and
the availability of digital information in real time has allowed us to be a strategic observatory
of the most important events and trends in the international fashion world. The rational
observation of these trends allows us to offer expert opinions on what was successful in
international markets during current and past seasons, but also to formulate proposals and
incentives to help operators work on their upcoming collections.
Our information offer
Trends Guide
Ars Sutoria Research Team each season
presents its trend forecasting analysis,
focused on shoes and bags industry.
All this is published on Ars Sutoria
Trends Guide, a complete trend book
with analysis of colours, materials,
shapes, markets and brands.

Fragments, cuts, geometric shapes, curves
and lines that meet/collide to deconstruct
and give life to shoes that know more about
architecture than fashion. Playing with heels and sometimes with soles appears easier
and lets the imagination run wild, but the
oval, hexagonal or triangular cuts of the uppers certainly cannot go unnoticed. A style
that requires experimentation of the materials and a certain personality.
Frammenti, tagli, forme geometriche,
passare inosservato. Uno stile che richiede
sperimentazione anche materica e una certa
personalità nell’indosso.
