Why nurses?
• Nurses’ role on the rise in health care and particularly
in medication
• Pharmaca Fennica pharmaceutical compendium:
familiar, up-to-date, physician centered
– Nurses’ daily work very different from physicians’
– Currently no electronic source of drug information
especially formulated for nurses
• Utilization of resources sub-optimal
– Medication safety may be compromised
