RULES DIRECTORY
BRACKET RACING
In effort to attract racers new to the hobby, and to provide a forum where advanced racers and those lesser skilled can
meet on a level field of play, bracket racing is provided. Here no specific rules are to be adhered to. Builders may submit
any chassis build and body type. From new out of the box to blowing the dust off thirty year old relics; from total stock
to loading up with all the premium performance parts you can find. All are acceptable. Bracket racing neutralizes
performance advantages by using a staggered tree. Allowing a calculated head start to the car of lesser performance and
making the higher performing car have to chase down his opponent. From a points perspective for series racing, points
accumulated from bracket racing is applied to each series (except Outlaw). For more info go to Nitroslots.com .

drag arms. No self wound, rewind, or dewind arms allowed unless explicitly stated. Also, where the term motor magnets if referenced, it is implied that no more than
two total are to be used in their factory or stock location(s).

FLASHLIGHT DRAG RACING
(No FLASHLIGHT r aces scheduled for 2014 racing season)
Flashlight drag racing is a form of drag racing that was most popular during the fifties but may have started earlier. At the start line,
the person responsible for starting the race will shine a high power light source in the face of each driver to gain the driv ers’
attention. The light source is extinguished; the drivers signal that they are rea dy by flashing their headlights. Once the start person
turns the light source on again, the drivers are off. There is no red light detection, no RT timer, and no ET timer. Flashlig ht drag
racing is drag racing in its’ simplest form. All that is required to win is to get to the finish line before the other guy.
Test & Tune:
Tracks with no means of determining ETs are not required to provide a T&T session. Tracks that qualify as a Flashlight Drag Racing
tracks and have a means of deter mining ETs have the option of having T&T. However, if T&T is provided using ETs to measure de gree
of performance, the same method is to be used when determining ladder placement and during elimination runs of the actual event.
Pairing:
Tracks with no means of deter mining ETs may consider one of the following methods for ladder placement:
Random. Cars can be randomly selected (perhaps by drivers) to populate ladder.
Lottery. Cars can be paired or placed on the ladder by lottery draw using entry numbers.
Tracks that used ET measuring devices during T&T are required to use standard qualifying methods to deter mine ladder placemen t.
Eliminations:
After ladder placement has been determined, tracks that have no means of determining ETs will run pairs in a ‘best of three’ (or ‘first
to two’) series with the winner of the series advancing to the next position on the ladder. In a field of eight the car which successfully
accumulates six wins will be Top Eliminator. Tracks that used ET measuring devices during T&T are required to use standard
elimination methods to determine Top Eliminator.
Track Judge or Referee:
Tracks that are not equipped with staging or early start detection shall designate a person or persons to act as judge or referee. The
judge or refer ee will gage proper staging and closely watch for fair starts. Should the referee observe a violation at the l ine, the
referee will announce the lane of violation and na ture of the offense. The referee’s call is final and the driver/car in violation will
forfeit the win to his/her opponent. In the event both lanes commit an offense, both drivers/cars will be charged with the of fense
and each opponent given a win. In the case wher e the series is one apiece, and both commit an offense, the race is to be rerun until
a winner of the series advances.
POINTS
In series racing, the points earned running a particular class applies only to the series of which the class belongs (except bracket
racing, points scored in bracket racing is applied to all series). At the end of each series a series points champion and series top
eliminator will be recognized. So, in addition to an overall points champion and top eliminator, there will be respective assignments
for each series. There are a lot of champions to be made in 2014. Hopefully, the series racing will spread the honors across the
membership.
