Our Mission
We are a passionate and growing group of volunteers dedicated to increasing awareness and providing targeted
financial support to our core charities, Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel and the National MS Society,
Oregon and Southwest Washington Chapter.
Caddies 4 Cure was established in 2002 by Ryan DuChene and Justin Marquart. Friends for more than 20 years, Ryan and
Justin founded Caddies 4 Cure as a way to raise money and awareness for two organizations close to their hearts, the
National MS Society, Oregon and Southwest Washington Chapter, and Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel.
In 2001, Ryan’s wife, Marci was diagnosed with MS. While Marci is winning the battle against the disease, it is not easy
and countless others are not as fortunate. Ryan and Marci are active supporters of the National MS Society, taking part in
the MS Walk and other events in the community. Ryan is currently serving on the Board of Trustees for the Oregon and
Southwest Washington Chapter. Caddies 4 Cure is proud to partner with the National MS Society, and we hope that our
efforts will one day lead to a cure.
In 2000, Justin and Lisa Marquart’s daughter, Ella Marie, passed away at three weeks old from a congenital heart defect
after several weeks in Emanuel’s Pediatric Care Unit. During this ordeal, Justin and Lisa spent every day and night at
Randall Children’s Hospital and are grateful to the hospital’s caring staff of doctors, nurses, and administrators. Caddies
4 Cure is honored to partner with the hospital in helping provide family-centered care for patients and families as they
face some of the toughest battles of their lives.
Caddies 4 Cure is an all-volunteer organization. Annual events include A Night to Chip In, an evening featuring live
and silent auctions, casino games, and celebrity guests; the Celebrity Golf Classic, where each foursome of golfers is
joined by a celebrity; and the Celebrity Bowling Challenge, where a celebrity bowler is joined by five guests. Caddies 4
Cure has raised more than $1.4 million for the National MS Society, Oregon and Southwest Washington Chapter, Randall
Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel, and other Northwest charities.
