PAO L A N AVO N E Since her early days with Studio
Alchimia, Italian architect Paola Navone has sought
to realize the unanticipated. Through the unique lens
of expert architect, interior designer and art director,
Navone beautifully re-imagines aspects of daily
living via the merging of design, craftsmanship and
technological innovation. A vibrant collaborator, she
creates furnishings and objects that have transformed
the decorative arts landscape.
Navone’s extensive list of clients includes Abet
Laminati, Armani Casa, Knoll International, Alessi,
Piazza Sempione, Mondo, Driade, Orizzonti, Arcade,
Oltrefrontiera, Casamilano, Antonangeli, Dada,
Molteni, Natuzzi, Roche Bobois and Swarovski.
She made history in 1983 as the fi rst recipient of
the prestigious Osaka International Design Award.
Navone met Janice Feldman, CEO of JANUS et Cie,
whose dear friend George Beylerian introduced them.
The designers soon discovered they had similar tastes
in style and sensibilities, both striving to create
pieces that embody the spirit of exploration while
evoking a respect for the past. "I have always admired
the breadth of Paola’s work and the way she combines
sentimental, personal design with innovative product
development and material diversity." Feldman reflects.
Navone, respectful of the earth and its resources,
yet ever-curious in her search for unique forms and
structures, took interest in the natural look and long
life cycle of Feldman's signature synthetic materials.
The collaboration resulted in two exclusive and
expanding collections for JANUS et Cie: Dolce Vita
and Strada, each highlighting Navone's celebrated
skill in designing complementary furniture pieces
within an ensemble.
In Paola Navone's eloquent words, "The furniture
pieces become accomplices. They can simply stay
together within different worlds, with other objects
and in other houses with ease, for affi nity and as a
counterpart, in an ironic twist."

Paola Navone's inspiration for her JANUS et Cie
collections stems from her connection to the
Mediterranean and the South, where homes are
designed to treat indoor and outdoor areas as a
single space.
Woven from long-lasting J ANUSfiber, the Strada
collection's soft rounded forms, deco details and
peaceful colors are suitable within an eclectic
ensemble or as stand-alone pieces, indoors and out.
The refined simplicity of Dolce Vita, crafted of 100%
recyclable JANUSwood planks over powder coated
aluminum frames, is a design trifecta of comfort,
elegance and durability.
