Bull’s Roar.
Here we are again and I am late as
usual. Thankfully, James Hodge is
taking on the editor’s role next issue
so I won’t have to be late again :-)
Wow! What a year it has been so
far. Auto Italia with its tribute to
Lamborghini occurred back in April
and then a number of club members
went onto the celebrations in Italy and
what a time we had there. People are
still asking me how our trip went and
all I can say is absolutely fabulously
and that it was a trip of a lifetime. A
few of us managed to do the entire
trip; Grand Giro, Ferruccio’s Birthday
and The Bull’s Roar IV. We took the
kids along and they had an absolute
ball. I’ve included some of Matthew’s
blog in this edition to give you a kid’s
perspective!
I guess the next big event is
Motorclassica where we hope to
beat our record for having the most
Lamborghini’s on display at an event
in Australia.

We print four issues a year but to help us achieve this
goal, we need help from you. Please send us any articles,
photos, etc., that you think are worthy of being published
in the magazine by the appropriate date below. If the
article is original and respectful, we will print it. If you have
sent us something but haven’t seen it in the magazine,
call us! No article is too small—everything can fill a space.
Our preference is for text to be sent to us in Microsoft
Word format and images to be sent separately in JPEG
with a resolution of 300 DPI and a print width of 20
cm. This allows for the images to be re-sized without
loss of quality. And if none of this makes sense, simply
contact the editor, James Hodge and he can help you.

Membership
Yes, it’s membership renewal time
again. To those of you that have paid,
thank you. To those that haven’t yet,
please see the renewal form included
in this edition’s Bulls Roar. With this
mail out, it will be the 3rd media used
to let everyone know that membership
subs are due 1 July (email, text and
direct mail).
I will make a few follow up calls but
I will assume anyone not paid by the
next Bulls Roar has decided to let their
membership lapse and I will take you
off the mailing list.
Victorian Club Plates
The Lamborghini Club is now a
registered club in Victoria and can now
help with the issuing of club plates.
For those that don’t understand the
process or benefits, here is a quick
summary:
There are two levels of club
registration – 45 days per annum or
90 days per annum (i.e. almost every
weekend). The car is required to have
a logbook on hand and if pulled over
by the police, a completed log entry for
that day. Financially, it is considerably
cheaper:

Motorclassica Weekend in Melbourne
The Lamborghini Club of Australia is
hoping to celebrate the 50th anniversary
of Lamborghini in style around this year’s
Motorclassica. We are hoping to get as many
interstate visitors as we can to Melbourne.
Friday October 25
Dinner wth Valentio Balboni (see separate

Saturday October 26
Motorclassica. We are hoping to get 50
member cars on display at the Exhibition
Buildings. Inside this year will be a display of

Lamborghini

WALTER DE SILVA’S HOMAGE FOR LAMBORGHINI’S 50TH
ANNIVERSARY

May 2013. There was an emotional
moment in Sant’Agata Bolognese
yesterday at the culmination of
the gala celebrating Lamborghini’s
50th anniversary: Walter De Silva’s
incredible vehicle made its entry in
front of a thousand invitees, the Head
of Design for the Volkswagen Group’s
homage to celebrating the House of
the Raging Bull’s half century. “I am
very attached to this Italian brand,
being an Italian myself. I wanted to pay
homage to and think up a vehicle to
underline the fact that Lamborghinis
have always been made with passion,
and with the heart more than the
head,” said an emotional De Silva.
Indeed the Egoista, as the vehicle has
been christened, is a car forged from a
passion for innovation and alternative
solutions, the same passion which
has always set the Lamborghini brand
apart. “This is a car made for one
person only, to allow them to have fun
and express their personality to the
maximum. It is designed purely for
hyper-sophisticated people who want
only the most extreme and special
things in the world. It represents
hedonism taken to the extreme, it is a
car without compromises, in a word:
egoista (selfish),” De Silva further
explained.
The supercar’s debut was equally
spectacular, with a cinematic entry
announced by a trailer projected onto
the nine big screens in the room. The
stage was transformed into a landing
strip, with a top model in a flight
suit guiding the Egoista’s arrival
with ground crew light paddles, and
the roar of the V10 engine shaking
the 20-meter-tall tensioned event
structure: this is the spectacle the
VIP guests were treated to when
Lamborghini President and CEO
Stephan Winkelmann entered at the
wheel of the Egoista, before inviting
its creator, Walter De Silva, to join him
on stage.
Concept and technology
Powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine
supplying it with 600 horsepower,
the Lamborghini Egoista is an
intentionally extreme and unusual
vehicle with absolutely unique

characteristics, created by the
Volkswagen Group design team –
Alessandro Dambrosio responsible
for the exterior and Stefan Sielaff for
the interior, in particular. De Silva’s
team chose to create a single-seater,
pushing all the characteristics in
Lamborghini’s make-up meaning
pure driving pleasure, performance
and style beyond their limits. The
cockpit, designed like a tailor-made
suit for the driver, is a removable
section which, once combined with
the rest of the vehicle, creates a
perfect technical, mechanical and
aerodynamic unit. Inspiration once
again comes from the world of
aviation, and in particular the Apache
helicopter, where the cockpit can be
ejected in an emergency.
“The cockpit, made completely
of carbon fiber and aluminum,
represents a sort of survival cell,
allowing the driver to isolate and
protect themselves from external
elements,” De Silva explained.“We
kept an eye on the future when
designing the Egoista, with the idea
that its cockpit could have been taken
from a jet aircraft and integrated into
a road vehicle, to provide a different
travel option.”
The design
The exterior is characterised by two
fundamental aspects: its architecture,
and the materials used. The design
is determined by a highly muscular
structure, in which empty and solid
areas fit together with strength and
vigor. The bodywork is dominated,
on its sides, by the stylised profile
of a bull preparing to charge, its
horns lowered. The bull is driving
towards the front wheels, conferring
a futuristic dynamism and lines
which are already, in themselves,
highly aggressive. The challenge of
efficiently inserting the Lamborghini
symbol as an integral part of the
bodywork was met courageously and
artistically. The plan view reveals a
trimaran profile, where the central
hull forms a unique section with the
cockpit, underlined by the carbonfiber cover on the front hood.
The upper part of the vehicle does
not have aerodynamic appendages,
but rather flaps integrated in
the bodywork profile which act
automatically depending on the
driving conditions. Two rear flaps
activate automatically at high speeds
to increase stability, while a series of
air intakes on the back of the engine
hood provides the cooling air flow to
the powerful V10 power plant. While
the front of the vehicle has a profile
intended to increase downforce, the
rear is fully open with the mechanics
in view, reducing weight but also
with the result of creating a more
aggressive look. The Lamborghini
Egoista’s lights are more like an
aircraft’s than a road vehicle’s. It does
not have traditional headlights, rather
LED clearance lights which determine
its position not just on a single
plane such as the road, but rather in
three dimensions, as is required in
airspace. Two white front lights, two
red rear lights, a red flashing light in
the upper part of the tail, two orange
bull’s eyes as side markers, and a
further two lights on the roof, red
on the left and green on the right,
make this four-wheeled UFO unique
even in the dark. Finally, hidden
behind the front air intakes at the
base of the join between the central
body and the two side sections, are
two powerful xenon headlamps,
two eagle’s eyes able to scan the
darkness for great distances. As it
is made from lightweight materials
such as aluminum and carbon-fiber,
the vehicle has no-walk zones, duly
marked like on airliners. The parallels
with the world of aeronautics do
not end here, however, as the body
is made from a special antiradar
material, and the glass is anti-glare
with an orange gradation. The
rims are also made from antiradar
material, flat and rough, embellished
with carbon-fiber plates to improve
their aerodynamics.

Interior
The cockpit’s interior is extremely
irrational. There is a racing seat with
a four-point seatbelt, the airbags, and
the bare minimum of instruments.
The focal point of these is a head-up
display, typical of jet fighters. To get
out of the vehicle, the driver must
remove the steering wheel and rest
it on the dashboard, open the dome
with an electronic command, stand
up in their seat, sit down on a precise
point of the left-hand bodywork, then
swivel their legs 180 degrees from the
inside of the cockpit to the outside
of the vehicle. At this point they can
set their feet down and stand up.
Even in getting out of the vehicle, the
Lamborghini Egoista requires a pilot
more than a driver, a real top gun.
The philosophy
The Egoista contains, in Walter De
Silva’s opinion, all the product criteria
which are part of Lamborghini’s makeup. “It’s as if Ferruccio Lamborghini
were saying: I’m going to put the
engine in the back, I don’t want a
passenger. I want it for myself, and
I want it as I imagine it to be. It is a
fanatical vehicle, Egoista fits it well.”
If Lamborghinis are cars for the
few, this one goes further. It is a car
for itself, a gift from Lamborghini
to Lamborghini, resplendent in its
solitude. The Egoista is pure emotion,
Never Never Land, which no one can
ever possess, and which will always
remain a dream, for everyone.

Italia
2013

Auto Italia 2013 was an extremely
successful event. Several club
members drove up from Melbourne
to assist with cars for this years
featured marque - Lamborghini,
Celebrating 50 years. Tim Kay
and his co-driver Chris in their
sensational white Countach, joined
myself and co-driver and chief
photographer, John Quilligan, in
the series 2 Espada, John and
Judy Gove in their lovely Fiat Dino
Spider as well as club stalwarts,
Dominic and Marcella Quattrocchi.
We met at Albury early Saturday
morning and proceeded in convoy
to Canberra... the Countach often
blasting away on short sprints
up the Hume Highway. Tim very
cleverly brought Chris along (who
is an excellent spanner man) in
case there were any issues. I am
very pleased to report that both
the Countach and the Espada
travelled the 1400 km trip incident
free. Both cars enjoyed the
opportunity to stretch their legs on
the 210km per hour, sorry, I meant
110 km per hour Hume Highway.
On the Saturday evening the
Melbourne contingent met up
with some of the NSW and Qld
club members at the Italian
Consulate’s famous Auto Italia
pre-event dinner drinks and
canapés. My tip for anyone going
in future years - get there early to
acquire the best parking spots.
There was a very officious “door
bitch” at the driveway entrance
that dismissively turned away a
Porsche 928 in front of me, then,
eagerly waved me through in the
Espada. LOL.
The weather forecast for Sunday
was not great, showers, but what
eventuated was brilliant sunshine
and an almost cloudless day. Over
500 Italian cars and bikes crowded
the Old Parliament House lawns.

The Lamborghinis, being the
featured marque, had prime
positions. Wonderful! Magnificent
Diablos’, 3 x Countach’s including
a very rare periscopo, a beautiful
Urraco (my co-pilots “car of the
event”), 2 x Espada, a couple
of Gallardos, a Jarama and a
most impressive, pristine white
Murciélago.
I can thoroughly recommend a trip
to Canberra for this event. There
is always a cornucopia of Italian
motoring delights, both two and
four wheel, to regale the senses.

Auto Italia 2013

Being the 50th Anniversary of
Lamborghini it was a very good
reason to head up to Canberra
for AutoItalia. I left home with a
friend, Chris at 6.00 am Saturday
morning and drove through the
Yarra Valley in the early morning
mist as the sun came up. What a
fantastic experience.
We met up with Dominic and
Marcela at Wangaratta at 9.00am,

fuelled up and continued on
our way. We then met up with
Phil Nash in his beautiful white
Espada, and a friend of his John
from the Fiat Club in an excellent
example of a Fiat Dino Spyder.
We all stopped at Gundaghai to
fuel up again before arriving in
Canberra at 2.00. Upon arrival
at our Hotel we met up with a
group that had headed down
from Sydney with a make up of
3 Gallardos, a 360 Challenge,
2 Masaratis and a Black ZL1
SS Camaro. We headed out on
a drive to the Cotter dam and
Tibinbilla space centre along
some fantastic driving roads for
an 80 km blast. On the way back
we were invited to the Italian
Embassy with an estimate of 50
other Italian exotics for drinks.
A small group from the club
headed to the Hyatt for a light
dinner and catchup, in the bar
which finished a fantastic day.
Sunday morning I headed down
to give my car a clean and met up
with the guys who I went on the
run with on Saturday, and there
was another 2 Ferraris in their
group. They asked if I wanted to
go on another run that morning
before the display as they had

enjoyed the run yesterday and
wanted to do it again. I declined
this time deciding to get my car
ready for the display.
We arrived at the display at
8.30 am and set up a line of
Lamborghinis of all different
makes and colors totalling 20 for
the day. A couple of members
from Sydney headed down for
the day in Lamborghinis as well
as several members attending
to support the club.
At 2.30pm after the awards had
been presented we decided to hit
the road back to Melbourne. We
fuelled up at Yass and jumped
onto the long stretch of road
where we sat on a steady speed
with the tacho reading 3500rpm
for most of the trip. We averaged
16.6L/100 and covered a total
of 1480 km by the time we got
home at 10pm Sunday night. It
was a fantastic weekend, and
great to catch up with all the
members that attended.

Phil and John’s Excellent Adventure
Auto Italia Sunday 7 April

Fridays are just great
aren’t they? The end
of the working week,
the prospect of seeing
friends and doing the
stuff you really want to
do.
This Friday in April
was special. It was the
beginning of a weekend
with my mate Phil
driving to Canberra and
back. But it was to be
no ordinary road trip –
no way. This was the
weekend of the Auto Italia
concourse in Canberra
so Phil was bringing his
beautiful 1972 Series II
Lamborghini
Espada.
This is a car that Phil
has fastidiously restored,
inside and out, top to
bottom
with
superb
results and I’m smiling
like a Cheshire cat to be
the navigator for this trip.
It was a stunning autumn
day.
Launch
time
was 10 o’clock in the
morning. Needless to
say, I was ready to go a
lot earlier than this and
at about ten past ten I
heard the Lambo arrive
outside, its four litre V12
rumbling a bass baritone
song down the street,
quietly stopping and
unpretentiously
giving
way to the quiet of the
neighbourhood.
Within seconds, the
luggage was stowed, we
took a quick photo or two
to mark the beginning
of our journey and then
took
our
positions,
driver and navigator.
Phil fired up the engine
and the neighbourhood
was treated to the lion
roaring, just briefly, to let
the wide savannah know
who’s boss. We were on
our way.
For us, Yea is a chance
to stop for a coffee and a
bite to eat, a chance to let
our minds switch off from
work and register that
we are away. We found

takes us through Yea,
a night in Beechworth,
Albury and then to the
national capital. Once we
were clear of the eastern
suburbs,
past Yarra
Glen, the Lambo was
able to get into a stride
going through the hills on
the Melba Highway. That
little stretch to Yea gave
us a good indication
of how the engine was
running. It was running
like Swiss watch, just
beautifully. Phil being
the fastidious guy that
he is, had the Lambo
tuned up on the dyno
the day before and the
results were mechanical
perfection.
the café and settled in
for a short break. Then
Phil’s phone rang. Work
wasn’t going to let him
off that easily. After some
assertive directions, the
problem (at least from
our point of view) was
solved and we got back
to the more important
business of enjoying the
trip.
Leaving Yea, you really
know that you’ve left
suburbia behind. As we
approached Mansfield,
we were both reflecting
upon what a beautiful part
of the world we call home.
The country scenery was
rolling by, the engine was
burbling contentedly and
the warm autumn air was
blowing gently through
the windows.

I took over the driving as
we turned north to head
for Benalla. This was
going to be a challenge. I
hadn’t driven the Lambo
before but I’m reasonably
good with cars and
thought it would be easy
enough. The big Borg
and Beck clutch was
heavy as I expected for a
41 year-old transmission
linked to a V12. I gave it a
boot full of throttle before
releasing the clutch and
the Espada moved nicely
onto the road. Then I
spoiled the nice takeoff
with a crunch into second.
Okay, so this gearbox
needs some serious skill
to get under control. The
remainder of the upshifts
were easy enough. This
gave us some time to talk
about the downshifts.
Downshifting
involved
rapid double-declutching
while keeping the revs
up before engaging the
lower gear with ‘feel’
through the stick. This
was going to require
some real care. Phil was
very patient and didn’t
grimace too much.
The Espada’s engine
has great torque (394
nM @ 5500 rpm) as
you might expect from
a large displacement
oversquare V12. On hills
you are equally tempted
to just open the throttle
to let the 6 Weber 40 mm
DCOE carbies breath or
to change down a gear
and hear that beautiful
engine note at higher
revs. The steering is
direct and accurate and,
despite the lack of power
assistance, surprisingly
light for a car of this size.
This car is a serious a
grand tourer.
exotica was everywhere
- Lamborghinis, Ferraris,
Maseratis, Fiats, Alfas
and Lancias. No sooner
were the cars parked and
people were lining up for
aperitivo in the embassy
than it started raining.
Just as well Mark and
Barbara put the soft-top
over the bambino!
We
eventually
hit
Beechworth, found the
motel despite the GPS
directions, and headed to
the Nicholson Hotel for a
counter meal. Lovely!
The next morning, after
eating some muesli that
was designed to keep
dentists in business,
we hit the road again.
Today we were joining
up in Albury with some
other people heading
for Auto Italia - John and
Judy in their immaculate
racing green Dino Fiat,
Tim and Chris in their
white Lambo Countach.
I went for a blat with
Tim in the Countach as
far as Gundagai and
then rejoined Phil in the
Espada – from racer to
grand tourer again.
much better stop than
Holbrook! It was another
beautiful morning and the
place was taken over by
the local women’s club.
All heads were turned as
the Espada rumbled into
its parking spot.
The crowd had a great
time drinking a little
prosecco, eating some
fabulous cheeses and
panettone, and sharing
their love of Italian
motoring art. It was a
sure fire formula for a
good time! ‘Grazie mille’
to Luca and Simona for
their hospitality! And
Luca, we’ll keep an
eye out for the missing
Caravaggios!
(Hmmm
… those Rodin brasses
were quite nice too!)
Sunday morning was
another perfect autumn
day in Canberra. We
arrived early and were
directed to put the big
Espada on show in a line
up of classic Lambos in
honour of Lamborghini’s
40th anniversary. We had
a Urraco, a Murcielago, a
Countach, our Espada, a
Diablo and a Gallardo -
After a quick snack we
were off again, this time
heading for the capital
and keen to keep our date
at the Italian Embassy at
5 pm.
Luca and Simona (the
Italian Ambassador and
his wife) were expecting
quite a stable! Needless
to say they attracted
huge attention during the
day.
I insisted that we stop at
Jugiong to introduce Phil
to the Jugiong Café – a
us – and around two
hundred other people
and their cars! Italian car
The day was spent
wandering
around
admiring the machinery,
talking to the owners and
choosing our favourite
examples for voting. For
me it included fantasizing
about which car or
motorcycle I might buy to
participate as an owner.
I think the Urraco is high

on the list at the moment or maybe
a Bertone X19.
Phil exuded charm throughout the
day whenever he saw someone
sporting a voting sheet. Well,
it’s Canberra isn’t it?! Anyway, it
worked! Phil’s car won the Best
Lambo in Show! In my totally
unbiased opinion, he deserved it.
The car is immaculate. The red
leather interior is simply luscious
perfection and was a real eyecatcher. So many people asked if
they could sit in it. The car is art
in motion even standing still. It is
testimony to the care and high
standards that Phil has applied to
its restoration.
Our new friend, Luca, presented
Phil with his award in front of Old
Parliament House. That was a
moment to remember and I was
pleased to be there to share it.
Soon after that, Phil, giving way to
one of his very few weaknesses
(besides bourbon and coke)
bought an Alfa 75 – you see, he
has a soft spot for 75s! This one
had a few glitches but represented
another project. Hey, use it or lose
it I say!
After garaging the two cars
back at the apartment, we had a
celebratory dinner, told each other
a few lies and solved the problems
of the world over a glass of wine.
Monday morning 5 am – more
tooth-breaking muesli. 6 am both cars fired up in the
foggy Canberra morning
and we took off down
the highway heading
home. The little Alfa was
humming along in the fog
and the Espada its usual
impressive presence on
the highway.
Jugiong was brunch with
the Espada and its little
brother parked outside
the café again creating much
interest. Several hours later, we
were home and our Auto Italia
weekend in autumn was over for
another year. The big Lambo had

performed flawlessly for the whole
trip. It was grand touring in the true
sense of those words.
Thanks Phil for sharing it with me
again! Looking forward to next year
and I promise my gear changes
will be better but, maaaatte!, you
might have to lend me the Lambo
for a few weekends to get them
right!
2nd June, 2013 - Victorian Drive Day

As they say in the military, “time
spent on reconnaissance is never
wasted”
were out of Melbourne’s every
expanding suburbs.
The drive day to the Yarra Valley
almost ended in disaster as the
key scenic drive route (Warburton
to
Narbethong)
was
being
resurfaced. A trip the week prior to
the lunch ensured that members
and their cars didn’t have to test
their 4wd skills.
As per usual, Monsieur’s Berman
and Alexander rejected the map/
sat nav and road markings and set
about a new and infinitely more
interesting route to the restaurant
– arriving 30 mins later than the
group (or exactly when they had
intended to – depending on who
you spoke to!)
Note to myself – always drive the
route first!
Bella Vedere is almost opposite
Domain Chandon and has a great
The day was a corker – a quick
coffee/pit stop and head count at
Kanteen at Como Park. This year
we didn’t have to beat the Nissan
GTRs for parking spots and
everyone arrived on time (which is
no mean feat when you consider
some of the car ages).
The drive was from Como to
Coldstream via Wandin/launching
Place and Healesville arriving at
the venue – Bella Vedere. Not
as pretty as the route planned
but some nice B roads once we

us well and it was great to hear
Peter Watson describe Italy during
the Lamborghini celebrations, the
challenges of language/navigation
and of his first drive in his Diablo.
A long lunch of slow food was order
of the day. 12 cars started, 12 cars
finished – my idea of a good drive
day.

their triumphal entry at Lamborghini
headquarters after travelling from
Bologna to Sant’Agata Bolognese,
past staring onlookers, flashing
cameras and applauding citizens and
enthusiasts.

center stage. This was De Silva’s way
of celebrating and making tribute to
the House of the Raging Bull’s 50th
Anniversary.

specifically brought to Italy for the
event by Norwegian collector Fredrik
Skjoldt. It originally belonged to
Farah Diba, wife of the then Shah of
Persia. This vehicle was the same one
used for Zagari’s photographs in the
brochure and owner’s manual and

The signal to enter the hall was given
to the guests by the arrival of a
majestic Italian Navy EH 101 helicopter
belonging to the 1st Helicopter Group
of the Luni-Sarzana Helicopter
Station. The gala evening, which
was hosted by Communications and
External Relations Director Raffaello
Porro, started off with a standing
ovation for the State Police, which
provided its services throughout
the entire Tour. Next, the winner of
Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary
Concorso d’Eleganza contest took
center stage amongst applauses:
a 1969 Miura P 400 S belonging to
Norwegian collector Harald Skjoldt
and once owned by Frank Sinatra
-- received the award from Maurizio
Reggiani, Lamborghini Board Member
for Research and Development. A
breathtaking fireworks show at the
end of the dinner was accompanied
by an original soundtrack composed
specifically for the event. Composers
and performers of the original music
included Chardo Formosa (Australia),
Riccardo Caruso (grandson of
renowned Enrico Caruso) and
Riccardo Cioni (composer and
entrepreneur). Stephen Head (USA)
was responsible for the soundtrack’s
sound design. The fireworks show
was put together by Fratelli Soldi and
covered an area of 170 meters. Band
Mandoki Soul Mates, led by Leslie
Mandoki and along with stars Paul
Young, Howard Jones and Midge Ure,
ended the evening with a captivating
concert.
The figures for the factory event are
exceptional: a lounge area covering
over 1,400sqm, a tensile structure
supplied by 2,680kW set up in an area
extending over 7,000sqm and 20m
high, a 25m wide stage and a giant
screen measuring 11 x 6.5m. Special
gala dinner seating was enhanced by
a carbon-fiber centerpiece created
by the Lamborghini Advanced
Composite Research Center, made
of the carbon fibre of the company
Mitsubishi Rayon, the supplier of raw
materials used for the research and
development of composite materials
in the House of the Raging Bull’s
supercars. Renowned Italian wine
producer and technical sponsor for
the evening, Bisol, also paid tribute

A tribute to the areas devastated by

On the morning of 11 May, a delegation
of Lamborghini vehicles escorted
by two Carabinieri motorcycles and
driven by 16 voluntary company
employees headed towards the areas
devastated by the seismic events
of May 2012. The motorcade left
Bologna’s city center and crossed the
towns of Crevalcore, Camposanto,
Finale Emilia, San Felice sul Panaro,
Medolla, San Martino Spino, Cavezzo
and Mirandola - which is home to

in front of the main building, beside
the coupé presented at the last
motor show in Shanghai. This open
super sports car features exclusive
technology and equipment and will be
manufactured in a limited run of 100
numbered units for the entire world.
A Forged Composite® plate inside
each vehicle further emphasizes its
exclusivity by not only bearing the
official 50th Anniversary logo, but
also the vehicle’s progressive number.
This limited edition boasts the
redevelopment of the vehicle’s front
and rear ends to provide improved
performance, special Titans Grey

Celebratory book published by Skira
increased by 36.5% compared to the
same period in 2012, and pages viewed
rose by 232.5%. The peak number
of site visitors was on May 10, when
some 46,000 people visited the web
site. Facebook videos of the Grand
Tour were viewed by about 400,000
people and liked by more than 4,900
viewers a day. The Lamborghini
YouTube channel (where the daily
Grand Tour clips were uploaded) was
viewed between 12,000 and 19,000
times a day, putting these clips in 1st
and 2nd place for the most viewed
videos to date in the car and motors
category on this video-sharing
Web site. The photos published on
Saturday morning on Instagram
(instagram.com/lamborghini) from
Piazza Maggiore were also very well
received, with peaks of 8,000 likes
for each picture and almost 3,000
followers in a single day for the
official profile.
Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary will
also be celebrated with a special
illustrated book. The book boasts the
curatorship of people the likes of top
Italian art expert Philippe Daverio
and Gian Luca Farinelli, Director of
the Bologna film library. The book is
divided into seven chapters focusing
on the history and values of this
company from Sant’Agata Bolognese:
History, Technological Innovation,
Design, People, Image and The Future.
The book will also include a chapter
with the most beautiful pictures from

Allora (as I understand it), is an
Italian word that is used when
you are about to say something,
but you haven’t quite decided
what to say. It’s like saying “So”,
“OK”, “Alright”, before making a
statement. You get the idea. . I
am telling you this because this
random little word really became
the war cry of the Australia’s on
our trip. It just felt soooooooo
Italian to start every sentence with
“ALLORA...” It spiked up at every
breakfast, hotel check in and
really had no meaning other than
we were all fitting into the Italian
way of behaving. And what a very
different way the Italian culture
is. Very fortunately for me, my
business as a tile importer has
allowed me to go to Italy very
often, so the culture is not foreign
to me, but honestly there is
always something more to learn in
Italy, the home of fashion, style,
food, cars and most of all posing
:-).
This trip I learnt that the Italian
police were willing to close their
eyes to the usual road rules, in
preference to providing a police
escort for a lap of Italy with 350
Lamborghini’s. It was purely
national pride and the patriotic
belief that if an Italian man had
invented a car that does 300km/
hr, then why the hell wouldn’t
we test the boundaries of this
invention and “show off” to all
of our countrymen. The Polizia
pulled this off this absolute
style. 20-30 presidential style
motorcycle police officers parted
the roads like Moses leading his
followers out of Egypt. It was
epic. Sirens roaring, white gloved
hands parting the road from
Milan to Rome, Rome to Bologna
and ultimately to the gates of
the Lamborghini at Sant’Agata.
Naturally, the police escort was
lead by their Gallardo Police car,
cleverly donated by Lamborghini
a few years ago, which was
gratitously accepted by the Italian
government as it would enable
organ donors to reach their
recipients quicker (yeah right), but
for this week of the Giro it was
essentially a pace car. A pace
car, that is probably having a
rebuild at the moment because
the road rules certainly were left
somewhere on or around Mr
Berlosconi’s office. One of the

highlights for me was this same
group of police officers sitting
down to lunch with us enjoying
of few bottles of wine in uniform
before leading us through the
next set of bends. I asked to
take a photo, which they were so
proud to let me. I couldn’t help
to think that if this was Sydney,
Alan Jones would be crying for
the resignation of the police
commissioner if such an outrage
had occurred. Not in Italy.....
Allora.... Or “SO WHAT”??
The greatest moment for me
that really cannot be captured
in any picture or sentence was
the incredible passion of the
Italian people lining the streets
to see their national treasure,
Lamborghini, come home to the
place it was founded. Children
jumping in the streets, random
people on the side of the road
clapping and cheering, families on
balconies waving the red, white
and green flags, BUT for me it
was the little old ladies standing
on the farm edge punching the air
like as if we had just come home
from the Olympics with ten gold
medals, It was ABSOLUTELY
AMAZING!!!

Graham Lawrence 007 Shaken, but not stirred.

This classic 007 line would be a
fitting opening line for our veteran
member Mr Graham Lawrence,
given the testing time he spent on
the Giro and beyond to the Bulls
Roar IV. I have only met this
man on a couple of occasions,
but I was really looking forward
to catching up once again in Italy.
We had both sent our cars there
for the event, mine a brand new
Aventador and his a legendary
and mystical Miura. His gorgeous
silver Miura was the first one I
had ever seen when I first joined
the club back in 2006. Anyway,
I arrived to the Giro registration
booth to discover that Graham
had been given the honour of
wearing the rally number of 007.
Very fitting for the witty English
gentleman. Unfortunately for
Graham the mechanical gods had
decided that he was not going to
be starring in the latest James
Bond movie, rather a sitcom
called: “NO roads lead to Rome”.
In fact there were no roads
at all, it was a case of planes
trains and hire cars, kinda cross
polinated with “Who wants to be a
millionarie?. His trip certainly was
a case of 50/50 and I am sure he
had to phone more than just one
friend.
Like a bastard, I was capturing
photo’s of a weathered Graham
at the bar each evening hearing
stories of tow trucks, lost luggage,
unavailable hotel rooms and
ultimately his travelling friend that
had decided that she wasn’t cast
for this movie and left as well.
from my LIVE, front row seat,
it was a comedy of errors. For
Graham it must have been an
amazing test of patience. Luckily I

like a drink and we did have many
together on the three weeks we
spent together. Before the Giro
I had all these big dreams of
buying a classic car and thanks
to my new friend Graham I
have decided that is not for me
anymore.
Finally (on the last day LOL),
Graham’s annoying, very small
issues (Motor racing can come
down to a 20 cent part), was
finally rectified and we were able
to drive from Belgium, through
France and get the train over to
the UK. I really enjoyed seeing
007 smiling, from ear to ear
(finally) as we arrived to the UK
and we both blasted down the M1
and headed into London. Good
bye old chap…. See you back in
Sydney.

Sunday 12 May to Panicarola and surrounds
Today we headed off to Panicarola. We had
breakfast, packed our bags and headed for the
Bologna train station. We were travelling with our
friend Graham. Dad bought the train tickets and we
had to wait a few hours for the train. Dad said he
knew which platform we had to leave from so we
went there to wait for the train. Strangely, no one
was on the platform. It was about one minute before
our train was supposed to depart, Dad then realised
he had us on the wrong platform. It was the local
arrivals platform and not the departures. We had to
run about 200 metres to get to the right platformn
up and down stairs with all our suitcases… but we
missed the train! Dad then had to go and change the
ticket and we had to wait around another hour but
the good thing was that we got to go on the super
fast train for the first part of our trip.

We changed trains in Florence. Lots of fans from
the Firenze (Florence) football club were streaming
into the train station. We thought we had missed
them (as they didn’t get onto our train) until we
got to the first stop after Florence. Our empty train
carriage was suddenly full! And it had been raining
so the people were all soaked. We took this train to
Chianciano Terme where we were met by two cars
from the tour company who took us to our hotel. The
ride to our hotel seemed to take forever and the rain
got heavier and heavier but then stopped.
We arrived at our Hotel Borgo Tre Rose which is
a restored and rebuilt medieval hamlet located
in a corner of Tuscany, between Montepulciano
and Cortona. It is a restored private castle with
surrounding buildings that have been converted
into hotel rooms and suites. It was amazing! The
countryside was so beautiful. Everywhere you
looked, you could see amazing scenery and smell
all the grapevines.
That evening we went to the hotel where the rest of
our group was staying and had drinks and nibblies.
We had a great time and then one of the tour
organisers took us back to our hotel and we went to
bed.

Monday 13 May Around Panicarola
Today we went to the property of the family of
Ferruccio Lamborghini. When he retired from the
automobile industry, he went farming and growing
grapes to make wine. We heard all about his
life. We then went into a museum dedicated to
Ferruccio’s life. He was a great inventor so there
was much to see. After that, we went into the
winery to have a simple lunch of bread with olive
oil, salami, ham and cheese. I had water but mum
and dad had wine poured straight from the big
stainless steel wine barrels. We also got to watch a
video on Ferruccio’s life.
After this, we went in our mini-bus to tour the
Trasimeno Lake. We made a short stop on the
Maggiore Island. There was an old village there.
We found a little cafe and stopped to have an
icecream and drink. It was magnificent. We then
caught our boat back to the mainland and on the
way Dad took some funny photos of me.

We went back to the hotel for a little while before
driving to a restaurant nearby where we sat in a
tent.There was a giant mosquito above our heads.
I was so bored at the dinner table so I went and
sat down on a lounge so I could charge my iTouch
as it was near a power point. We finished dinner
and caught the mini bus to our hotel. I got ready for
bed.

Tuesday 14 May around Panicarola and
Surrounds
Today we left our hotel to
go to the ancient town of
Montepulciano. Our friend
Graham (from Sydney) met up
with his friend Janet who lives
in Montepulciano. She has lived
there for 20 years so she told
us a little bit about the village.
It is a medieval town on a hill.
Apparently its beginnings go
back to the 3rd and 4th century
BC. It was magnificent. We got
some nice photos and Dad and
Steph went way up into the town
hall to get some photos from up
high.
We then went onto the old town
of Pienza which was really nice.
Dad,Steph and I found out that
the buildings on the far right
side overlooking vineyards were
going to eventually erode away.
After that we went to the town
of Panacale where we had a
yummy lunch.

We then had a very, very long
ride back to our hotel in the
mini-van (the locals got lost and
sent us in circles). We got ready
and then went to the final night
party at the Lamborghini family
vineyard property. They have a
beautiful resort where people can
stay. We had drinks and nibblies
around the pool (there were
very large mosquitos again)! We
then moved into the restaurant
to have dinner before a massive
cake got brought out. Steph and I
had some. It was YUMMY!. They
also had a band which was led
by quite an old man. He really
got into the singing and had
everyone dancing.
After that we went back to our
hotel to bed!

Wednesday 15 May to
Dosso and Bologna
This morning we had to wake up
early and leave by 8:00 am! We
had to go to Dosso which was three
hours away. We were ending our
stay in Tuscany/Umbria.
We were visiting the Lamborghini
museum run by Fabio Lamborghini
and it was amazing! It had
lots of prototype cars, tractors
and motorbikes as well as airconditioners, a helicopter,
pushbikes, skis and other things that
Lamborghini invented. We listened
to Fabio tell us about the life of
Ferruccio.
After our
museum visit
we went off
to a lovely
restaurant
that served
lasagna that
mum and
dad said was
amazing but
I didn’t eat it.

Our Bulls Roar Tour IV is fast approaching, and as we have not been involved in the organisation of the
Lamborghini factory tour and are therefore unsure of what information they have provided to you, we have

Thursday 16 May to Lake Garda
Today we went up to Lake Garda. It rained most
of the way and just before the hotel, we had to go
through a huge puddle.
We checked into our hotel and then Dad got us to
hurry and get ready so that we could take a taxi to
Brescia to see the cars getting scrutineered for the
2013 Mille Miglia. We arrived and walked past some
of the cars before finding a place for lunch. I was
upset because they didn’t have pizza on the menu! I
had a croissant and hot chocolate. It warmed me up.
After lunch, we walked past some of the cars and
found a place for ice cream and Dad bought Steph
and I one. Mum also bought Steph and I a Mille
Miglia sticker. We then walked past more cars (Dad
knew the passenger in a nice old Maserati and
exchanged hellos) and we found a Ferrari owned by
a New Zealander from Queenstown. Dad had a chat
to him.
We then wandered off to look at more cars before
catching our taxi back to our hotel and having
dinner. What a day.
Mum and I went back to the hotel room while Dad
and Steph went off to look at the Mille Miglia cars
come into Lake Garda. They came back shivering.
Summer has not come in Europe yet.

Steph went up to St Moritz and
saw the snow.
Just before they branched off,
we stopped for lunch. It was
at a Pizzeria. I was so looking
forward to pizza. They had four
pages of Pizzas. We went up to
ask how large they were (Quanto
Grande?) only to be told that
there were no pizzas today! I
was so mad. In fact, I was really,
really mad. In the end I had
some sort of antipasto dish which
I didn’t really like much of. The
salami was good!
We left there just as Dad drove
past. Dad gave us a wave as he
headed up to St Moritz.
On we went in our mini-van until
we arrived in Lake Como. We
got there just after lunch. After
checking in, Mum and I went for
a walk.

Mum bought us both an
icecream. We wandered around
looking at Lake Como and then
we looked at some shops. We
found a little Fiat 500 used as
a pizza delivery car. We also
found a Benetton shop and Mum
bought me some really nice
clothes.
Off we went back to our hotel
and showered and got ready for
dinner. Eventually Dad and Steph
arrived and we had dinner with
the rest of the group. Another
great day at the office.

Saturday 18 May to Lake Orta
Today I asked my friend Brooke if I could go in his
Lamborghini Aventador. When he said yes I was so
thrilled that I nearly jumped out of my seat at breakfast.
When it was time to go, we headed off. I had to
navigate for him. On the first turn, I made a mistake
but that was only because I got my lefts and rights
mixed up. Then everybody went the wrong way. We
worked it out and got on the right track and eventually
made it to our coffee stop at Lake Lugano where I
had a hot chocolate. Steph and I were supposed to
switch cars but then Dad said it would be all too hard
so we decided to switch at the lunch stop.
We headed off again. The drive was really nice. We
went through about seven tunnels and we went past
about five waterfalls and then when we finally arrived
at the lunch stop I wasn’t very hungry until I saw the
Pizzeria that this time, actually sold pizza and I said
to Dad and our friends that we should go there. But
Dad wanted to go somewhere else. In the end, his
restaurant wasn’t good so I got to go to my Pizzeria
in the end anyway. I finally was able to have pizza –
Yay! We finished our pizza and then I nagged Dad
until I could get an icecream. He said yes and I had
one. Our friends were ready to go and so were we so
I headed off with Dad and Steph went with Brooke.
I had to navigate for Dad but he never listened to
me so I just said, figure it out for yourself! We finally
arrived at our hotel in Lake Orta just after 5:00 pm.
Mum, Gavin and Peter had to come and help us get
down the skinny, winding driveway as it was steep
and bumpy. We didn’t want the cars to scrape. All
of them made it down into the car park safely. The
hotel was called Hotel San Rocco and was an old
convent until the 1960′s. It is in the commune of Orta
San Giulio.

Sunday 19 May to Lake Sarnen
Today we were heading for Lake Sarnen. It was scary
for Dad to get out the driveway as the handbrake on the
car doesn’t work and the driveway was skinny, steep
and bumpy. Anyway, he gave it all a good burst and up
and out he went.
I went in the mini-van and we headed off for the Simplon
Pass which is a is a high mountain pass between the
Pennine Alps and the Lepontine Alps in Switzerland.
On our way to the Simplon Pass, we saw beautiful
scenery and lots of waterfalls. The snow was melting
and the water from it was making its way down the
mountains creating huge waterfalls. When we reached
the customs for going into Switzerland from Italy, the
man that could speak English said that there was 40
cm of snow on the road and we weren’t going to get the
cars through it. He suggested that we go back down to
Iselle (about 5 kilometres) to catch a car train. We took
his advice and went to Iselle to catch the train. After
some discussion we decided to wait for the train.
While we were waiting we had some fun. We did some
creative photos. First we started jumping in the front of
the cars and pretending that we were jumping as high
as the bonnet. Then we just went a little bit crazy and
everybody just started to jump wherever it felt right for
them. Brooke and I did an awesome jumping photo that
he put on Facebook (and now I’m world wide :D ).
The train arrived 30 minutes early which was good and
it was bad. We didn’t get time to finish having fun, but
the train was early so we could catch up on the time we
weren’t on schedule for. We hopped on the train and off
we went!It felt a bit weird having to stay in a car, on a
train, in darkness while it moved.

When we got off the train, customs stopped us
briefly to check our passports. We also had to pay
at a ticket booth for our ride on the train. Our friends
Peter and Trin in another car went through the ticket
booth without paying which forced Brooke and Gavin
to pay double (teehee) as they were behind them.

Not long before we arrived at Lake Sarnen, we
stopped at the top of one of the mountains to have
an icecream. I bought one that came with a little toy
– a wooden cow. The view from the restaurant was
awesome.
When everybody had paid for their tickets (except for
Peter and Trin) we set off for lunch. We stopped at a
place that also said it was a pizzeria (but it didn’t sell
pizza of course). We ordered, ate and set off again
for another train ride.
It didn’t take us long to get to our hotel (Parkhotel
Waldheim) in Lake Sarnen. We carted all the luggage
up to the 3rd floor (the last floor, and of course the
hotel didn’t have any lifts, escalators, etc.). We finally
got all the luggage up into our room, freshened up
and went down to dinner. We ate dinner (but I wasn’t
allowed dessert :C). I went to bed and… wait for
tomorrow.
It wasn’t far away but we just missed a train. Anyway,
we got onto the next which seemed to go a bit faster
and it was darker. We hopped off the train and
headed off. We then started driving past beautiful
lakes again and driving through little villages. The

Monday 20 May – Free day up to Piz Gloria
This morning we got up and the weather was quite
nice. This was the view from our hotel at Lake Sarnen.

the cable car up to Piz Gloria. This meant changing
three times (four cable cars) until we reached the top.
It took about 30 minutes.
After breakfast, the hotel mini-van took us to the
Sarnen train station and Dad bought some tickets.
The mini-van had to do two trips because there were
10 of us. We got the train up to Interlaken and the
journey took about an hour and a half. The views from
the windows were pretty. Once we got to Interlaken
we had to swap trains to go to Lauterbrunnen. There
was a trick. We had to make sure we were on the
right half of the train because it split in two (bye bye
dad :) teehee). This train took about 30 minutes. We
then had to walk through the train station and around
the corner to catch the bus up to the Schilthorn aerial
Piz Gloria got its name from the James Bond film “On
Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. “The movie production
team found the restaurant partly constructed, and
financially contributed to its completion in return for
exclusive use for filming the movie (released in 1969),
where the building is shown quite prominently.“. The
summit is 2970 m high.
When we arrived we went to the restaurant where we
had tables booked for the group. It was a revolving

about three hours to get back. I fell asleep on the
train so I could have some more energy for dinner.
Our mini-van was waiting at the train station and took
us back to the hotel. I went and rested some more
before going down for dinner. I even managed to
sneak dessert in tonight :) .

took them before they reached us again :( . When
we finished lunch we went out onto the platform in
the snow. I started throwing snow balls at everyone
but Brooke grabbed me and hung me over the edge.
Ahhhh. I saw the end of my life :) After mucking
around with snow balls we then had a photo taken
of the group. Everyone pretended they were James
Bond. I put my hands up as if the baddies were about
to shoot me.

Tuesday 21 May to Colmar in France
Today it was another early morning start but we had
to stop at the service station so that the cars could
get washed and fuel up. Unfortunately, a lady backed
into one of the cars – the Diablo. The front right-hand
side driver panel got banged near the wheel and
there was a slight scrape all down that side. Many of
the group were watching as the lady backed straight
into it but no one had a chance to yell out. Brooke
put his hands up to his head and pulled a face as
it happened which was one of the first indications
to the driver that something was going horribly
wrong. The only good thing was that the car was still
driveable. The Swiss police were called and we all
waited around until statements were made and the
proper paperwork filled out.
The weather was a bit miserable this morning. It
was raining and the clouds were low. Mum and Dad
went in the car up over a mountain while Steph and I
took a faster route in the mini-van. Mum said that the
mountain was wet and that they went through cloud
which meant visibility was very low. They were also
worried about cows crossing the road as there were
cattle grates and signs along the way. There was
snow at the top of the mountain. On the way down,
Mum said that they saw a ski resort for the locals (not
open of course).
Our mini-van arrived first and we started having our
lunch. Mum and Dad finally arrived with the rest of
the party. I decided to head to our hotel with Peter,
Suzanne and David and let Mum, Dad and Steph
explore the museum with the others. Some of their
photos are shown below. It has to have the biggest
collection of Bugatti’s in the world. Mum said they
were here favourites.
Our hotel was about half an hour away in a little town
called Colmar also in the Alsace region. It was called
Hôtel le Maréchal and is located in what they call
Little Venice. They call it Little Venice because of the
canals located around the old part of the town. Our
hotel was right on one of these canals.
We were all heading for the Mulhouse car museum
now called Cité de l’Automobile. It holds the Schlumpf
Collection and is located in Mulhouse, France which
is in the Alsace region.
I checked into our room at our hotel. Once again,

we were right up on the third floor and the lift only
took us to the second floor. The young ladies who
worked at the hotel took our seven bags up to our
room. I could not believe it. Dad’s bag was massive
and weighed over 30 kgs.
I an icecream. We then found a nice bar/restaurant
where we sat down to have a drink before heading
to the hotel for dinner. John and Sheryl found us and
had a drink with us too.
We had a dinner in the armory room although I didn’t
like much of what was served. After a while, Steph,
Mum and I went up to our room and to bed. Wow –
another great day :) !
When Mum and Dad arrived and Dad had gone to
park the car in a little garage, we decided to go for
a walk. We wandered the cobblestone streets and
somewhere along the way, Dad bought Steph and

Wednesday 22 May to Durbuy
us about the storks of Alsace (the region where we
were), so very soon we became bird watchers. I
spotted three storks! Amazingly one of them had a
baby and for a baby they were quite big.
Today I got up and had some breakfast at the hotel.
We had to cart all of our luggage down small, windy
staircases and passages. Lucky there was a lift for
part of it and one of the staff helped. When everyone
had finally got all of their luggage down into the
minivan, off we went!
After getting into the countryside we started to drive
up a twisty mountain road. It seemed to me that we
were going up there for hours! But really mum said
I was exaggerating ( :( unfortunately my predictions

the busy streets of Colmar. Luckily Suzanne told
aren’t as wise as my elders ). When we started to
get up higher it got more cloudy and misty. I was
losing oxygen( well it felt like it )! Ahhhh, finally , the
nice motorway (or so i think ).
We were driving along and… GRRRRR!!! There
goes my tummy! We stopped off at a service station,
had some food and don’t forget the Hot Chocolate!
Ring, Ring, Ring, Ring Peter picked up his phone he
said, “OH NO!”. When he got off it he had some bad
news (Dun, Dun, Dun). Someone had broken down
but they weren’t sure who (how silly)! After a while
we were on the road again.

About half an hour after we stopped at the service
station we saw some MASSIVE Wind turbines!!!
They use them to generate power. We had crossed
over from France into Belgium. Finally after a long
ride in the mini van we were at the hotel! YES!!!
mum and I went up to our rooms. They were quite
nice if i have to say so myself. We then went down
to the bar and had some drinks (or did we). The man
at the bar was on his phone and mum didn’t know
if the bar was open. Eventually she went and asked
him and you wouldn’t believe what he said – Yes! so
mum and I got some drinks and relaxed.
At about 7:30 pm just before dinner Peter had arrived
but where was Dad i ask again? We then walked
into where we were having dinner and WOW!… it’s
fancier than fancy pants. When everyone saw the
dining room they thought that the dinner had to be
good. Well my taste buds unfortunately didn’t think
it was that good so I went up to bed (or did I). Well
the truth is that i didn’t because I wanted to read. I
just read and read. Eventually I stopped reading and
went to sleep.
I then heard Vroom, Vroom… was it a Lambo? Finally
had someone come? well you bet ya someone had
and guess who it was. It was Graham and Mark (yay
my old buddies!) They had traveled 900km in one
day! WOW now that’s a reliable car (or is it)! not long
after that John and Sheryl came and also Brooke and
Gavin were here! But where was Dad and Steph?
Where was Peter and Trin? Well when Brooke came
down to the bar he had some bad news. :( Dad had
broken down and so had Peter and Trin. Two in one
day! The mechanic must have been very happy!

Thursday 23 May to London
Well – we got up today, had our brekkie and packed
the mini-van. Mum and I were heading off to catch
the car train under the English channel whilst Dad
and Steph headed for the Eurostar. They had to
drop the hire car at a different location.
All was uneventful and we ended up at the border.
It took a little while to get through the lines at the
customs. Apparently everything was on high security
alert since the army fellow was killed in London.
We saw all the other Lambos briefly before we joined
our allocated queue to get on the train. Before we
knew it, we were on the train and travelling across
the English channel with our van neatly seated in a
train carriage.
In no time at all, we were on the other side coming off
the train into England. We were all a bit hungry so
we did a pitstop at a roadside cafe. McDonalds was
the order of the day. Lucky we got in when we did as
we just beat a school group. After munching on our
Macca’s we jumped back in the van and headed off
to sunny (or rather not so sunny) London. The traffic
was a bit hectic but soon enough, we found our way
across the Tower Bridge to the Tower Bridge Hotel.
What an amazing view we had.
Dad and Steph were already waiting having arrived
a couple of hours earlier. Mum had to dash off to buy
a few goodies before getting back to the hotel for a
few drinks.
We met the group for dinner at the hotel. This would
be our last night together as the full group. I was a
little bit sad but we’d had a fantastic time. Dinner
was great. We finished and headed up to our room
for a well-deserved sleep. Tomorrow – London –
here I come.

Drive to Bindoon Bakehaus (17 May 2013)

On the 17th May 2013 we went for a drive out
to the Bindoon Bakehaus for lunch. It was an
enjoyable drive out there and we all enjoyed
the food we had for Lunch. We then went for a
drive towards Bakers Hill using some of the back
roads which is where most of the pictures were
taken. Graham & Ria attended in their Espada
S3, Phil & Son Jordan were in the Gallardo and
Mike was in the Jalpa.

A milestone for Automobili Lamborghini: 2,000 Aventadors produced
Sant’ Agata Bolognese, 6 June 2013
- The Lamborghini Aventador LP 7004 achieved an important milestone in
its history, with the 2,000th vehicle
produced. The Nero Nemesis car,
chassis number 2,000, rolled off the
assembly line destined for the United
States.
Its owner, Thaddeus Arroyo, Chief
Intelligence Officer for AT&T, is a
highly ranked U.S. executive and a
passionate Lamborghini customer,
who already owns a Lamborghini
Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder.
Following a test drive of the Aventador
LP 700-4 during a Lamborghini event
in Palm Beach, he was immediately
impressed by the extraordinary
performance of the car to the point
that he decided to purchase it.
The Sant’ Agata Bolognese plant’s
productivity has noticeably increased
for the Aventador LP 700-4 compared
to the previous flagship model: the
Murcielago took four years and half
before the 2,000th example rolled
off the assembly line. Launched in
2001, the Murcielago reached the

2,000-vehicle milestone in March
2006. The Aventador has reached
this milestone in just over two years,
with production currently of nearly
five cars per day.
In 2013 the Aventador LP 700-4
Roadster, the most extraordinary
open top super sports car, joined the
successful coupe. Initial pre-order
expectations for this model have
been exceeded and the order bank
for both versions covers more than
one year.
