Partners Design was founded
in 1971 by twin brothers Jack and
Jeff Gernsheimer, who left their
New York agency and corporate
jobs to start a graphic design studio
in a stone farmhouse in rural
Pennsylvania. More than three
decades later, the farmhouse and
design team have expanded,
while the studio still offers the
personal, hands-on approach that
welcomed their first clients.

NEW HOLLAND CONSTRUCTION_
Global agricultural equipment manufacturer
New Holland (owned by FIAT of Turin, Italy)
chose Partners Design to create a comprehensive
identity for its new construction equipment
division. Partners Design developed and applied
the compelling new design system to equipment,
exhibits, advertising, direct mail, literature,
environmental graphics (for showrooms and
corporate headquarters) and a virtual trade show
website. The brand’s introduction at ConExpo
in Las Vegas helped to successfully launch this
diverse and extensive line of products.

D U P O N T _ Asked by the manufacturer of
Corian® Solid Surfaces to create a magazine,
Partners Design was responsible for the entire look
of Surfaces, from masthead to back cover. The
magazine, which demonstrates why professionals
and homemakers chose the countertop materials
for their work surfaces, has become a cornerstone
for the branding of Corian and Zodiac products
and is featured in DuPont’s national TV ad
campaign. Partners Design also designed exhibits,
signage, point-of-purchase, print ads, literature,
sales materials and sample kits that carry out the
branding of the products.
K A R E N ’ S B O T A N I C A L S _ Karen Palcho was
making aromatherapy products in her kitchen–and
using clip art for her marketing–when she came to
Partners Design. The team created an artistic and
cohesive solution to her branding needs, including
packaging, product literature, POP and website
design, that helped distinguish her brand from the
many natural beauty products in this highly
competitive market.
BOSCOV’S DEPARTMENT STORES_
In 1972, Partners Design was hired by local
entrepreneur Albert Boscov to design a new
identity for his chain of three department stores.
That branding was effective for more than 25 years,
during which Boscov’s has become the largest
independently-owned department store chain in
the United States, with more than 40 stores
throughout the northeast. In 1999, the company
commissioned Partners Design to update their
logo and create visual branding standards for
advertising, packaging, POP, credit and gift cards,
vehicles, and signage. This lively series of shopping
bags illustrates the new look, where holiday
themes are playfully incorporated into the text
and drop shadows of the Boscov’s mark.

Partners Design created a distinctive and powerful
print and environmental branding campaign for
this beer distributor. Exterior signage, banners
and dock numbers greet and direct visitors, while
interior graphics continue the experience with
door and lobby treatments, supergraphics and
wall hangings. The program identifies A l l - S t a r
with the dozens of beverage brands they carry
and enables the company to add or subtract brand
graphics as their product line changes.
