Package Check
3
Taking into Operation
3.1
Package Check
Different spirals for 4 up to max. 35 products mean it is possible to vend packages with depth up to
max. 105mm.
3.2
Filling of the Compartments
!
Always start from the front.
!
Put one product in every turn of a spiral.
!
The products should rest freely on the tray bottom.
!
Never squeeze the products into the spiral turns.
TIP: The two upper trays are easier to fill if you tilt
them slightly downwards.
ATTENTION!
If you pull out several full trays at the same time there
is a danger of the machine tilting over!
Remedy:
After filling push back each tray fully.
3.3
Mechanical Price Setting
By rotating the scroll foil you can set prices up to max.
19.95. On both ends of the scroll foil the word ’Stop’
appears. Do NOT turn on otherwise you will have to
thread-up the scroll foil again.
Selection numbers can be completed with attached
set of labels.
3.3.1
Variable set of prices
In case setable prices are not sufficient you can order
a variable set of prices under part no. 0075433 (2
sheets with prices + pen).
You can make any price by coating those segments
not needed. Cover the scroll foil with the price labels.

Duomat Mode
3.4
Duomat Mode
To increase vend capacity of a single spiral compartment you can set it to 1/2 turn mode. Therefore
you have to mount the duo rail, part no. 0065852, in the middle of the spiral.
For some row products which should be vend in
Duomat mode operation, special spirals for 18
products with a wire diameter of 5mm are availbale
(part. no. 0061118 LH and 0061117 RH spiral).

Establish Duomat
!
Insert the support pin, part no. 0045235, into the
shaft stump of the spiral drive.
!
Fit the duo rail onto this pin and at the same
time insert the duo rail at the front.
!
Bend clip of the duo rail from the back.
!
Pull the tray fully out.
!
Take a small screw driver and push the red cam
of the gear concerned downwards until there is
a noticeable click.
!
Replace the tray again.
!
It is recommended to place added end pieces

Parallel Operation
3.5
Parallel Operation
!
!
When vending wider merchandise, two adjacent
compartments can be joined by removing the separating wall (each spiral has its own motor).
remove seperating wall
The LH spiral has to turn anti clockwise, the RH
spiral has to turn clockwise.
Therefore:
! Remove the separating wall.
! Programme the same price for both compartments, see page 27.
! Programme compartments to parallel operation, see page 46.
ATTENTION!
Both of the spirals ends have to stand in the same position with respect to each other. Make any correction
needed!
NOTE: Pay attention to the fact that always one left motor (even number) and one right motor (odd
number) have to be connected for parallel operation, even if these motors are not adjacent. It is also
absolutely necessary that you programme the same price to both selections (see chapt. 7 on page
27).
3.6
Spirals
Spirals with the same revolution direction can freely be changed with each other.
!
Spirals with 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 13, 16, 18, 19, 22 and 35 turns can be ordered.
! Remove spiral: You can remove a spiral by pulling it forwards till it clicks twice.
NOTE: Always check proper machine operation with test runs.

Spiral Adjustment
3.7
Spiral Adjustment
4
!
Adjustment is correct when the spiral end is
in the 6 o’clock position (factory preset). Minor deviations are unimportant.
!
Small products require individual adjustment
to enable the selected article to be ejected
correctly, but at the same time locating the
next product securely.
!
Re-adjustment, if necessary:
! Pull the spiral back until it gives a noticeable click while pressing your thumb
against the central shaft (see picture).
! You can now turn the spiral ten steps during each revolution.
! Change the position of the spiral and push it back.
! The spirals end should project some one half to one whole thickness of the wire over the tray
front. If corrections are deemed necessary, either strech or compress the spirals.
Extras
The special plug & jam technics allows vending of small and high products without necessity of tools.
For example compartment contractions will easily be stuck on the compartment walls.
Not all possibilities of use of these extras can be described fully. They can be operated individually
for vending pf products. Test carefully whether products will be delivered properly.
4.1
Heightening of Compartment wall, part no. 0064635
The heightening will be used for vending of tall

Reinforced trays
The standard trays can be loaded with a maximum weight of 25 kg (55lbs).
In case you intend to sell products with a total weight that exceeds this value when the tray is fully
loaded you may use reinforced trays which are in general the same as the standard trays but may be
loaded with a maximum weight of 45kg (99lbs). You'll also need reinforced side runners which
should be fixed with screws.
You may order the necessary parts using the following part numbers:
single tray, reinforced (model 1000 / 10 selections)
double tray, reinforced (model 1000 / 8 selections)
single tray, reinforced (model 800 / 5 selections)

In case further credit systems beside the executive changer shall be used, these will have to be
controlled by the executive changer and also mustn't be activated in the IVC2 control unit.
All settings concerning the coin channels will have no effect - the respective settings have to take
place directly in the executive changer.
The credit statistics won't be handled by the IVC2 - respective data has to be requested from the
executive changer.
The prices shoul always be programmed as a multiple of the base value of the executive changer - if
not, the next higher credit will be deducted. In the vend statistics the original price will be counted,
though.
The printing of receipts is only partly possible as only credit, selection and price are shown whereas
the change information isn't available.

Tube Assessment
Here you adjust which change tubes (changer and hopper)
should be involved in the calculation of possible change. This is important for acceptance of bills with unsufficient change bills will be locked.
Standard setting is ’1’, i.e. the calculation for change includes even the smallest tube. This could lead
to the serious situation that change will be payed out in smallest denomination coins, if all other
tubes are empty.
To avoid such case you can adjust TBSA to a higher value. If you set e.g. ’3’, i.e. the calculation for
change includes up to the third lowest tube. Thus the amount of change for bill acceptance has to be
reached without the two lowest denomination tubes.

16.1
Description of the cooling unit
16.1.1
General
The cooling unit control receives the important data via the mdb bus from the IVC2 control unit and
stores them, so that even in case of a communication breakdown a normal operation will be
possible. The data stored in the IVC2 control unit will be transferred when resetting the cooling unit
or during each initializing run of the IVC2 control unit (therefore also during each power up) - in case
inadequate data are transferred, this will be shown by a respective warning with the door open.
16.1.2
The cooling unit can be operate in four different modes
70
!
Standard operation mode
! In the standard operation mode the cooling unit is regulated by the stored data and the temperature measured at sensor 1 (in the lower part of the cabinet).
!
Operation mode with two temperature zones
! When operating with two temperature zones the cooling unit is regulated by the stored data
and the temperature measured at sensor 1 (in the lower part of the cabinet) and sensor2 (in
the upper part of the cabinet).
!
Heating operation mode
! It's possible to equip the cooling unit with an optional heating element when operating at extremely low ambient temperatures. In the heating operation mode the cooling unit is regulated
by the stored data and the temperatures measured at the sensors. Different temperature
zones, though, cannot be realized in heating operation mode.
! The change between standard respectively operation mode with two temperature zones and
heating operation mode will take place automatically.
Wurlitzer 1000/850/700 IVC2 vers. 2.83 – Edition: 14.08.2007
Description of the cooling unit
!
16.1.3
Time operation mode
! Time operation mode is an emergency operation mode - in case of a breakdown of sensor 1,
the cooling unit switches to time operation mode, causing the compressor to work respectively
pause for a preset period of time. Time operation mode will also be activated, when the duration of a door opening exceeds a preset value - after closing the door the former operation
mode will be reactivated.

Health Switch-Function (temperature surveillance)
In case you activated the temperature surveillance for one or more trays as described in the chapter
’mdb cooling unit’, the function is as follows:
If the temperature in the machine raises above the programmed health switch temperature (standard
is 5°C, also see "cooling unit settings" in chapter "hidden switches") or the machine is without power
supply for longer than 30min, the surveilled trays will be locked, the choice of a product from one of
the respective trays activates the display message: "tray temporarily disabled" - the other trays will
still be able to be bought from.
Assumed, that the 30min haven't yet completely passed, the countdown will restart, whenever the
temperature doesn't any longer exceed the allowed temperature or the door will be opened and
closed.
Once the health switch has been activated, the display will show: "remove spoiled products!" when
the door is opened, so the filler may check the respective trays and exchange possibly spoiled
products.
If the return button will be pressed for at least 3 seconds with the door open, the warning message
will disappear and all trays will be released again.

Cooling unit
Following you find the description of the different cooling unit parameters. Normally the preset values
will be correct for a troubleless operation of the cooling unit and shouldn't be changed - only in case
of extreme circumstances different values may be useful.
Please do not carry out any changes, if you do not have the respective background knowledge about
the functions involved as wrong settings may lead to serious malfunction and damage of the cooling
unit.
As some parameters influence each other, they have different priorities. If in doubt, please contact
the Deutsche Wurlitzer GmbH.

The values to be programmed here are the allowed deviation of the set temperatures for the sensors
S1 and S2. The correction (activating/deactivating the cooling respectively the fans) of the values set
in S1 and S2 will take effect as soon as the values differ half the value of the hysteresis H1 or. H2.
The lower the value that is set here, the more exact the set values S1 and S2 may be reached, on
the other hand the lifetime of the compressor will decrease due to more frequent switch cycles.

Operation despite Blocked Lift
20.3
Operation despite Blocked Lift
In case the delivery box is blocked due to a fault (product jam, etc.), so that not all trays can be
reached, all products from trays lower than the position of the jam, will be sold normally.
In addition it is possible to determine from which trays it shall be possible to sell despite the jam. In
case this function is activated for the respective tray, the delivery box would run to the tray underneath the position of the jam and the product would fall, depending on the height of this position,
more or less deep.
This function should therefore only be activated, if the tray is filled with appropriate products.
