Market Street
The Lanes and Leicester’s Arcades
Market Street is entirely pedestrianised
making it the ideal spot for that relaxed
shopping trip, or even just taking in the
rich history of the buildings in the area.
If you’re looking for quaint and quirky
independent shops and boutiques then
head for The Lanes, a few minutes walk
from the Clock Tower. Enjoy exploring
art galleries, jewellers, stylised furniture
shops, designer and vintage fashion
stores and collectables.
A cornerstone of the Fenwick group
since 1962, Fenwick Leicester is one of
the leading department stores in the
East Midlands. You will find everything
you will possibly need, from high quality
fashion labels and beauty to homewares
and a plentiful range of furniture. Don’t
miss the Dominoes toy department.
Stroll around and meander through
the labyrinth of covered arcades full
to the brim with eclectic shops. Silver,
Malcolm, Royal and Odeon Arcades
link the busy High Street to the
bustling historic Leicester Market.
After taking a short stroll further down
the street you will come across two
premium jewellers, Tarratt & Lumbers.
Both have stood proud in Leicester for
over 100 years and offer a stunning
selection of diamonds, watches and
other eye-catching sparkly pieces.
Fashion stores White Stuff and Fat
Face have an extensive range to choose
from including key fashion must-haves
and those all-important basic pieces,
while Greenwoods can help you out
with that perfect office outfit. Shop
for the latest in stylish clothing at
Pepperberry – Bravissimo, an exciting
new addition to Market Street.

St Martins Square
St Martin’s Square is home to great
independent fashion shops full of the
latest trends. Be sure to pop into
Watch This Space, a cutting edge, notfor-profit social enterprise selling the
work of
independent artists, designers and
crafts from all over the UK. Enjoy the
regular street entertainment and
events held in the Square.
High Street, Humberstone Gate and
Gallowtree Gate
This area has trendy newcomers,
quirky boutiques, high-street names
and independent shops - all waiting
to be discovered.
National retailers such as Marks &

Highcross
Golden Mile (Belgrave Road)
The Highcross shopping centre with
over a 100 stylish shops, cafes,
restaurants and cinema is the largest
shopping centre in the East Midlands.
Anchored by the iconic John Lewis
building the centre also houses top
department stores, Debenhams and
House of Fraser. Discover high-end
names such as Apple, Hugo Boss,
Karen Millen & All Saints in addition
to many high street favourites such
as Topshop, Zara & River Island.
Tucked away off Church Gate behind
Highcross is East Bond Street, a treasure trove of small niche independents.
It has been said that Leicester’s
Golden Mile is the closest that Britain
comes to an Indian Bazaar and you
can certainly see why. It is an Aladdin’s
cave of spices, clothing, interesting
gifts, fantastic food and drink and
the largest concentration of Indian
jewellery shops outside India (hence
the name).
Haymarket
Haymarket shopping centre has been
a feature in the city for more than
four decades. Located just next to the
iconic Clock Tower, the shopping
centre is home to great brands such
as TK Maxx, H&M and Primark, as well
as a number of independent shops.
Aside from the big names, the Haymarket
also offers a number of independent
shops where you will find a wide
selection to suit individual tastes.

Allandale Road, offering the discerning
shopper a touch of luxury. The area is
full to the brim with charming
independent boutiques, retailing
everything from scented candles,
delightful perfumes to stunning
watches and the latest must-have
handbags.
Narborough Road lies in the West End
of the city and is a truly wonderful mix
of cultures. Nestled in among the bars
and eateries are dozens of
international supermarkets, selling
everything from Polish to Caribbean
food. As for shopping Narborough
Road is definitely the place for
second-hand furniture, electronics
and household appliances.
Hinckley Road
Just a stone’s throw away lies the
fashionable Queens Road in Clarendon
Park, close to the stunning Victoria
Park. The road is packed full of beautiful
independents. The surrounding streets
also have plenty to offer from fabulous
second-hand furniture to vintage
clothing.
Just off Narborough Road you will
find Hinckley Road which presents

run shops and a good range of home
stores. Here you will also find a large
