range of factory tours and farm visits, and to take in the Salon de l’herbe Agricultural show in France.

before visiting France’s premier Salon de l’herbe Field

A Jaylor feed mixer wagon is providing great room service for 700 Saanen in-milk nannies
on a Waikato goat dairy.
Geoff Hicks owns the 52ha farm at Waharoa. He runs
it with sharemilker Sean Baty.
The goats are housed in barns, and Geoff and Sean
used to mow grass every day for them. Now they
ensile the grass and prepare mixed rations with a
Jaylor 4425 mixer wagon.
Before purchasing a feed mixer they checked out a

The conditioning intensity can be adjusted by the roller pressure

During normal operation the tines are fixed for effective
conditioning, but if a SemiSwing tine comes into contact with
an obstacle it will spring back. The angle and position of the
tines allows the crop to be moved away from the conditioner
rotor – resulting in less blockages and the full effect of the
conditioner plate.

The Rotaflow principle is a unique ‘patented’ system where the fertiliser granules are rotated before
they reach the spreading vanes. This prevents fragmentation whilst also providing consistent
spreading characteristics. Models are available with effective spreading widths of 12 to 45 metres
and 1100 to 3450 litre capacity and are undoubtedly one of the most accurate on the market.
