The 4Schools journal builder
Our step-by-step guide will help you to create a student journal that is hard-wearing, stylish and competitively priced. It will help to
include all the necessary elements to meet the needs of the entire school community.
1.
Journal size
Choose A4, B5, A5 or custom size
A4:
B5:
A5:
210mm x 297mm
176mm x 250mm
148mm x 210mm
The most popular sizes are A5 and B5. However if
you require a specific size we can offer you any size
up to and including A4.

2.
Binding
Choose hardback or spiral bound
Hardback
Spiral bound
All hardback covers are glued, stitched and reinforced
with fabric mesh webbing to ensure that they stand up
to the wear and tear of school life.
The spiral-bound cover is light and has an additional
durable plastic cover to protect it and keep it in
good condition.
3.
Cover
Standard cover (choice of 5), school name and crest overprinted, or fully customised cover
Our standard cover designs for 2015/2016 feature a personal resilience theme, which runs throughout this year’s diary. You can view the
full-size images of our cover designs on our website www.4schools.ie

Your School Name and Crest
You can have your school name and crest overprinted in black on our
standard covers.
Please note, you will need to provide us with a good quality digital
image of your school crest (a high resolution JPEG or vector file).
Custom Cover Designs
For schools who want a personal touch, we offer the
option to completely customise the journal, front and back.
Our design team will take your ideas and turn them into
a beautiful cover your school will be proud of.
Some schools want
a simple but elegant
look and feel to their
journal. We offer the
option of a nicely
textured hardback
cover with your school
name and crest
embossed in gold leaf.
Interestingly, schools who have opted to include photos
of school events, sports teams and student activities have
reported that the students take better care of their journals.

Self-care, personal well-being and resilience
Each year we update our journal design and learning content so that your journal remains contemporary and relevant to your students.
This year our theme is self-care, personal well-being and resilience. This theme explains the importance of caring for ourselves and
outlines strategies for students so they can build resilience and
use it as armour during life’s rough patches.

Choose your diary spread
Choose your diary core from our selection of standard two or four-pages diary cores or create a fully customised diary core for your school.
Recording information is the primary function of any school diary so space for writing is vital. Our student journal maximises this space
so your pupils, teachers and parents have the room they need to record information.
Our weekly diary spread is in full colour at no extra charge to you! We have a range of standard diary spread options to suit the needs of
your school. If what you need is not shown on the next page, please get in touch with us as we also provide customised diary spreads.
