CHRISTMAS GREETINGS FROM THE DIRECTOR
Dear Friends,
I love Christmas! I love the reason for the season - that Jesus Christ was born
to save the world by giving us eternal life. I love the rich family traditions of
decorating a tree, baking Christmas cookies, seeing the lights and of course,
shopping. I love the quality time we set aside to enjoy family and friends
around a delicious meal. I love the spirit of giving that fills each of our hearts
to overflowing. I know that I also look for ways to reach out to others, both in my community
and in my circle of friends, who may not be looking forward to the Christmas
season. There are a lot of widows and orphans – those without family – who are
alone and hurting. I’d like to challenge you to step outside of your usual
traditions and adopt a child, a friend, a family or Harvest Home, and bless
them during this season. Our Christmas gift catalog is a small window to the needs of people who have
little to look forward to during this season. As you turn the pages, you will find
a variety of ways that your gifts can make a profound difference in the lives of
women and children, this Christmas and for the rest of their lives. Skipping the chotchkies this year,
Jennifer Jenson
Executive Director
P.S. If you don’t remember half of the gifts you received last year, then you
probably received a number of chotchkies – a small, worthless, decorative knick
knack with little or no purpose. Give a gift with purpose that will impact a life
forever! 3
THE SPIRIT IN GIVING TO HARVEST HOME...
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I
was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was
a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and
you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I
was in prison and you came to visit me.
– Matthew 25:35-36
