Grapevine and HEB Chambers Combine
for a Luncheon with Julie Wakefield
The Grapevine
Chamber is proud
to announce Julie
Wakefield as the featured guest speaker at
the next Membership
Luncheon, combined with the
Hurst-Euless-Bedford Chamber,
July 14, at 11:30 a.m. at the Hurst
Conference Center. The program
is entitled, “Making Powerful Impressions: Business Etiquette.”
Don’t miss this opportunity to
network with businesses from the
HEB Chamber of Commerce!
Julie Wakefield is a Dallas-based
business protocol and etiquette
expert. She is certified by the
Protocol School of Washington,
a nationally accredited institution
that is helping even the U.S.
government to see improved
job performance among federal
employees.
Julie also holds degrees in
education and business. Early
in her career she focused on
marketing and small business
training. She then spent 15
years working with students as a
classroom teacher and principal.
When
coaching
business
executives now, Julie helps
them to identify business image
pitfalls such as inappropriate use
of technology, communication
barriers, and networking mishaps.
But whether she’s talking to
students or seasoned employees
in corporations and nonprofit
organizations, Julie’s key message
is this: a person’s career success
depends on their ability to earn the
trust and cooperation of others.
Julie shares that research
has proven these soft skills are
critical. “The market place is so
competitive today that people
can’t afford missteps,” says Julie.
“I get immense satisfaction from
helping people to identify issues
that could—or are—holding them
back from the success they want.”

Greetings From Your Chairman of the Board!
It is with great enthusiasm that I assume the role of the
Grapevine Chamber Chairman of
the Board. Having
served on the Board of Directors in various capacities over
the past three years, I have been
privileged to work with the extremely talented Chamber staff
and dynamic group of professionals who comprise the Board
of Directors. I will continue ex-
ecuting the goals and objectives
our past Chairman Steve Haley
so capably outlined and initiated
at the beginning of 2016.
As summer brings vacations,
barbeques
and
recreation,
there are a number of exciting
upcoming Grapevine Chamber
events. On August 19, the
Grapevine
Chamber
of
Commerce Women’s Division
will be hosting UNCORKED:
Music in the ‘Vine at The Laurel.
This wonderful music event will

feature four great local bands,
including The Walton Stout
Band, Zack King Band, Justin
Mason, and Big Town Rodeo,
and proceeds will benefit the
Women’s Division’s School
Supplies and Christmas Spirit
programs. On August 27, the
Chamber’s Past Chairman’s
Advisory Council will host the
3rd Annual Grapevine Casino
Night at Austin Ranch at Hilton
DFW Lakes. Finally, planning is
