May is here! The end of another fantastic year at Westridge
Elementary is near! The last student day is the 23rd. We will
have an 11:30 dismissal.
May is also full of opportunities for the Westridge community
to enjoy time together at school. The carnival is Friday, May
4th. Field Day is Friday the 18th from 9:00-2:30. A new event
this year, 5th grade graduation, will be held on Tuesday, May
22nd at 1:00. The Talent Show will be held on May 22nd as well
starting at 2:00. It will be held in the gym and everyone is
invited to come on out and see our kids’ wonderful talents on
display!
The summer months are a great time for kids to get outside,
enjoy some time with family and to relax from another
demanding school year. In order to make the next school
year less demanding, please set aside some time each day
for your child or children to read or be read to! Don’t stop
with just reading, talk about it as well. Ask your child about
the characters in the book and ask him or her about certain
words and their meanings. Making time for this will go a long
way in preparing your child for the next school year! Don’t let
them tell you they are too old to read with mom or dad! It
isn’t true! There isn’t a fifth grader in this building that doesn’t
like being read to!

The next Westridge PTO meeting is scheduled for
Tuesday, May 1st at 6:30. The meeting will be held
in the library.
Members of National Honor Society will provide
childcare.
