color, Flor grade cork and an aluminum reel seat with a cushioned
reel hood. Rods equipped with a fighting butt also have a channel lock sliding rear hood with double locking rings and feature

Conversion Kit
Imagine a two-handed rod and a 4 piece nine foot rod that will fit in
the same length case. TFO now has two lower rod sections designed
to replace the single-handed grip section on existing 9' 4-piece 7- and
8-weight TiCr X rods. With a total of six rod sections of equal length
you can now have both, a great 9' 4-piece traditional fly rod, and a
5-piece 11'3'' two-hander for easy overhead distance casting. TiCr X
two-handed conversion sections include a full two-handed grip with
Flor grade cork and a heavy-duty knurled reel seat, large titanium
oxide stripping guides and a handsome rod sock.

Bluewater
The Bluewater rods use S-Glass for heavy lifting in combination with high modulus carbon fiber for exceptional casting
ability. The blank goes through the TiCr coating process
twice, adding power and durability. Components include
uplocking reel seats, Flor grade cork and a unique blue granite finish. The Baby Blue and Light Duty rods have snake and
titanium-oxide stripping guides; the Medium Duty and Heavy
Duty rods have ceramic inserts on all guides including the
tip tops and a continuous composite cork handle for greater
comfort. The Heavy Duty is now a 4 piece rod utilizing a
revolutionary new reverse ferrule design.

Two handed rod designers Mike Kinney and Bob Meiser continue to expand the TFO Deer Creek series of fly rods with the introduction of
the Deer Creek Switch Rod Series.
Switch Rods are multi-task fly rods specifically designed to allow a variety of both single and two handed caster options. The primary goal
of the Switch Rod is to allow the caster the ability to achieve maximum targeted forward distance with the least amount of expended
energy.
Bob Meiser has been in the forefront of popularizing and refining blank designs for the switch rod concept of fly rods since the mid 1990s.
His expertise with this unique family of rods is well established within the two handed rod community. Bob’s concept has been universally
accepted over the past decade. Teaming with Mike Kinney in design and application for these rods has taken the concept to the next
level. We have used our proprietary Axiom material lay-up process for these blanks. These are extremely light weight, durable, thoughtfully
designed fly rods with superb performance … Best defined simply as: “Totally efficient delivery tools.”

While some might argue that properly executed spey casts are the highest form of fly casting, we would probably all agree that these
casts are visually compelling, personally gratifying, and a wonderful way to present a fly to a fish. For a collective 65 years, two Pacific
Northwest spey casters, Mike Kinney and Bob Meiser, have perfected this art and have shared their knowledge through guiding, teaching,
and perhaps most importantly, by designing a new line of spey rods, the Deer Creek Series of two-handed rods.
The Deer Creek Series have casting properties that marry perfectly with modern spey lines. They have a unique progressive-regressive traditional action making them ideal for executing all types of spey and skagit casts. These blanks are a beautiful translucent dark amethyst
color with accents and components selected by Bob and Mike.

Years ago, Lefty Kreh explained his basis for rod design. "There are three things we can emphasize
in rod design at TFO........Presentation, Distance, and Lifting." Presentation involves accuracy and the
manner in which the fly and leader land on the water. Delicacy of presentation may not be a major
factor when targeting a species like tuna but it can be all important when tempting trout in a gin-clear
stream. Distance of course, refers to how far you can deliver your offering. In some situations this may
matter little, in others it can spell the difference between success and failure. Finally, in the fish fighting phase, the rod's primary function is related to its Lifting power, a critical consideration when a big
fish dogs you in the depths.
Of course, no one rod can perform each of these functions to its maximum potential. But at TFO our
rod series are designed to handle virtually every kind of fishing scenario you are likely to encounter. By
consulting the chart you can easily select a rod that features a mix of functions that is most suitable
for the kind of fishing you'll be doing. You won't be disappointed.
