focused on providing an investment strategy aligned with

In addition to traditional investments in each asset class, most
high net worth families utilize alternative investments to
pursue superior returns – funds and strategies not available
to the average investor. Homrich Berg Family Office has
staff dedicated to sourcing, analyzing, and performing due diligence related to alternative
investments. We gain access to elite offerings from the institutional brand names as well as
smaller niche players.
All investment options including alternatives are evaluated for each individual family relative
to the financial plan goals, need for liquidity, desired risk vs. return, and personal fit. We use
quantitative and qualitative factors to screen our managers, and all managers are approved

Our History
Homrich Berg was founded in 1989 in Atlanta by Andy Berg and David Homrich to fill a
growing need in the financial services industry — individualized and objective wealth
management services for high-net-worth families, individuals and not-for-profit organizations.
With a core belief that investors deserve conflict-free advice, HB was formed to provide
comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory services on an independent,
fee-only basis. Understanding that trust, integrity and confidentiality are essential in providing
clear counsel to affluent individuals, HB has worked diligently to create a comfortable
environment for its clients.
Our Clients
While Homrich Berg overall serves more than 400 families and in many cases provides those
families many personal services that many firms would characterize as “family office,” we
believe that it is appropriate to only selectively add families over time that are desiring true
family office services. Our client relationships are always fully confidential unless otherwise
authorized by the family to be discussed with advisors or the public.
Our Team
Homrich Berg Family Office serves each family with a team of professionals customized to fit
the needs of the family. Teams typically include a principal, a director or senior associate, and
one or more associates who all serve the family. If the family desires enhanced administrative
services then additional operations specialists may serve the family as well. All of the members
of the Family Office division have experience serving high net worth families and bring a
wealth of real life expertise from those family situations. Over 75% of the Client Service and
Investment Professionals at Homrich Berg have or are candidates for the CFP Board’s
certification or the CFA Board’s certification.
While the Homrich Berg Family Office division has a number of dedicated employees, ultimately
one of the benefits of working with Homrich Berg is the ability to tap the expertise and
assistance of the resources of the entire firm. Anyone from the staff of over 50 employees at
Homrich Berg may be called upon to help with a specific family issue as needed, and the culture
of the firm encourages that approach. The dedicated Investments department of the firm provides
an additional level of analysis and support for the investment planning provided to our clients,
including operational and strategic due diligence for alternative investments. Homrich Berg
is committed to assembling the right team for each family, and pulling in additional resources
as needed over the years as unique situations arise requiring special expertise.
